Amy these backgrounds were fabulous and made it possible to have such wonderful images on realistic backgrounds.. They were so vibrant and wonderful...magical to me...and the little creatures really look like their underwater and enjoying their life...what a great series....I loved it and watching you have fun and turn out wonderful cards....thanks Amy for sharing......pat
I love doing this technique on glossy photo paper and once the layers are dry wiping it off with a baby wipe. The colors just pop. Thanks for sharing!!
lol....the crab & turtle are my favourite...they look so funny. :) I love the oxide inks too!!!
LOVE the 2nd one, doing one color at a time. The browns made a visualization of a sandy ocean bottom with so much texture! Will have to try this.
Gorgeous cards Amy and fabulous techniques. Thanks for reminding me about the distress glaze! Love this whole tutorial. Many thanks again. Bev.
Wouldn't you know? Two weeks ago I made mermaid birthday cards for my twin grandnieces and used a blended Oxide background. This would have been perfect and more what I wished for. I think the glazed shininess makes it seem more "watery". Thank you for the great tutorials.
What a fabulous technique to achieve an amazing background to this fun sea critters Amy. I cannot thank you enough for everything that you demonstrate on your RUclips channel. I learn so much from each and everyone of your video tutorials. Thank you :O) xx
I think they came out adorable too!
Amy. This is just beautiful all by its self.
I love the second one the most. This is a fun technique.Beautiful😊
Love these cards Amy!!! When I use distress oxide inks on photo paper I just use a baby wipe to buff out the chalk look and it works the same as the glaze and much cheaper. You should try it. Love your work💜
Again, fabulous cards!!! Those backgrounds look like so much fun. Thank you Amy for sharing the whole technique!
Absolutely fabulous cards Amy! So cute. Thanks for sharing!
I was not sure if I needed this glaze, obviously I do 😀. Great cards ,this year I think the sea scape cards have been my favourite. Thanks for sharing x.
These are FABULOUS!!!!! I have 4 jugs of glaze thinking it would go fast but WOWZERS!!!! I VERY little is ample, I end up losing a TON because my pad is SO GUNKY! It comes out of the jug with WAY to easy of a swipe LOL
I absolutely love these cards! That technique is so awesome. I first saw Tim Holtz do it and my jaw dropped. Anyone who is not amazed by the glazed distress oxides is crazy.
This is such a fun technique. Loved how the cards turned out.
Love this technique, I need to try it again. You make it look so easy!! I must admit mine was ugly. I messed up somewhere in the process. Gorgeous cards!!
🐙🐋🐡 I LOVE these cards and the backgrounds are SOOOOO AWESOME!!! 🐠🐟🐳
These cards are just so cute, beautiful backgrounds!
I use the back of photo paper. Love it. Beautiful cards.
These turned out so cute. I was shocked to see this was a new video because I really thought I had seen it before. I was just watching and thinking, oh I am so glad to see this again, I've not done this is a while. So thank you and your cards are darling.
Hi Amy nice cards like allways! Less expensive but same result coconutsoil.
🤗greetings from Germany 😁
Love theses! And the sea animals turned out so cute - I love your coloring... that snail... ADORABLE!!!
Amazing cards Amy! Would love to see you do this technique to do galaxy backgrounds.
Wauw Amy, so super cute. A great Idea to make a cardset to give to someone, thank you so much for sharing this. Can't wait to get started LOL
Holy Moly these cards turned out awesome....well done with the background and glazed....tfs
TFS. This is a really interesting technique. Loved your finished cards.
You gave me an idea to create a sand area for some ocean based cards I am making. Not using same colors but same technique. Thank you for sharing.
These are all amazing...especially the brown/blue combo!
Cute idea to stretch your colored panels. I love what you have done! I am inspired.
Cute cards. They would make a great gift. Love your videos.
I love how these cards turned out. The one that you just did one color at a time ended up looking like a painting of the Grand Canyon. I saw a gal do this 5 or 6 months ago. She used photo paper but instead of using a glaze she just buffed it with a cloth and got the same shiny result. Her RUclips channel is Treasures of Many. Maybe you could try this and see what kind of results you get and compare it to those with the glaze. It would be interesting to get your feedback on it.
Great cards, Amy! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!
These are ADORABLE
Wow, these are just fabulous! Love them all. TVs. Take care, Katie♡
Love these backgrounds! I have made some using the oxides on regular cardstock. I thought they turned out pretty good. Now I going to try them on glossy paper to see the difference. Gotta love that glaze!
The backgrounds are just gorgeous. So cool!
Beautiful backgrounds and the cards.
I record all the Friends reruns and watch them, well have it on as background noise when I craft. I know all the episodes so by listening I know whats going on. Im a sloooow crafter. Lol its so funny u have friends on too! So strange. Love this technique 😍
yeah I know most of the episodes by heart now so I use them as background noise sometimes rather than just playing music when I'm working lol
Prairie Paper & Ink (AmyR) Totally! If not friends I put on Seinfeld😂
Fun!! Fun!! cards. Love this fresh approach.
Absolutely brilliant. Loved them all and the backgrounds were just divine. Thanks for sharing.
Love these cards! Absolutely love the backgrounds, I need to get some of that distress glaze.
I love your videos! You make it look so easy, but I am sure a tremendous amount of thought and work goes into each video. Not to mention the cards, which are fabulous!
Thanks for sharing!
lots and lots of hours behind the scenes :) :) :)
Great cards. I am definitely going to try this technique.
Awww Amy, these cards are AMAZING! I just have to give you a huge THANK YOU as 'one' of the things I love about your work is that you create in the 'most efficient way'. For those of us who have health issues, I can't stress enough how much this helps, especially when you are limited to playing at 10 to 15 minute intervals; I find it takes away the frustration as I've always been the type of person who when starts a job, cannot stop until it's complete and trust me, it's taken me a few years to adjust to this new time management schedule. Anyway, that's my 'blab' for today. Thanks so much Amy!
Love your cards. TFS
This is a great technique. I love the look of the distress oxide on the glossy paper with the glaze. Your cards are very beautiful.
Very awesome cards! Thank you for sharing!
Hello Amy,
Thank you for picking out my birthday present! After watching this I now realize that I really do need the oxides. (YES I am ashamed to admit it,but I don't have any ...yet!) Your cards are absolutely striking! Thank you for sharing. Oh, and please do a comparison video between the two. I for one totally value your opinion. Thank you again. Have Fantastic rest of the week!
Great cards, loved the backgrounds.
Your backgrounds were super cool, but your coloring and shading was outstanding and that really made these cards stand out!!
Great cards! Thanks so much for your videos.
How cute!!! I love them!!!
Love the backgrounds. Cute cards
Your backgrounds are stunning! I, too, LOVE distress oxides.....maybe even more than the regular distress inks! Great cards.
Sooo cute! Love the backgrounds. ♥ They do resemble my efforts with photopaper. I only have two (grey) oxides so I really need many more to be able to make colour fireworks. :D
Love them. Love the process on how you made these cards. That glossy paper really makes your cars shine.!
Love them all. Again you have done an amazing job. Thank you for sharing. 😁
Love the oxide inks on the glossy paper. They came out super awesome. Your cards were beautiful. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.
Very nice. Thank you for your time. It was great and inspirational. Going to order the stamp set and I need more oxides for sure!
Very beautiful and cute cards. Love the back grounds. Oxides are such good inks for techniques and boy does the glaze bring out the colors. Thanks for sharing and have a great day
Love the backgrounds.
So cute and fun! Love them!!!!!!❤️
Holy Cow! the before and after are so different. I have to get some glaze!
Those backgrounds are awesome. Love distress glaze on oxides. Just brings out the layers and colours. Fab set of cards. Love your videos, Amy!. Thanks for the shout out too
These are such fun cards, with awesome backgrounds. But I hate to tell you this, Ms. Amy...those whales are upside down! That's a dorsal fin....which is accidentally underneath but should be on the top of your whale...shhhhh….don't tell anyone . Made me giggle!
Joni Stoneking i thought it looked like the two pectoral fins.
no they aren't - this was how they were designed and it's not a dorsal fin :) tho really a person can do whatever they want.
Ahhh, ok. My mind is just turned around. They are adorable cards and characters!
Love them all!! When I am home from holidays, I am going to play with the glaze too. Only need the gloss paper. Thanks!!
Amy, I sooo love your work. Thanks for showing us how to's for background water techniques. Love it.👍
I've seen Tim's videos on the differences between Oxides & regular Distress Ink but of course would also love your take! 👍
I just love them! So cute and beautiful!!!
Love the look you achieved with the inks and the gloss and I like the size of the cards, so cute!
I love this technique but my oxides are limited to 5colors right now so I decided to use this technique with color box and brilliance inks which are pigmented but they still turned out gorgeous and as long as you dry between layers there’s no mud
A very fun video. Thanks, Amy
Oh my goodness, I love these! So pretty AND adorable! Off to CASE them now! Haha
What a cool technique!
Just loved these!! Thanks for sharing!
Hey Amy!! I love the cards...they are so pretty!! I never get tired of watching and learning what you can do with the oxide inks!! I’m expecting the July 2018 set this Monday or Tuesday!!! Soooooo excited!!! I just recently watched a video of someone using coconut oil (it’s solid) instead of the distress glaze on the glossy card stock with the oxide inks. Someone mentioned in the comments that would be great for beach themed cards!!! It did look exactly like the distress glaze...I haven’t tried it myself but I thought of this and your ocean/beach themed cards...coconut would smell great!!! Anyway keep sharing your oxide ink cards!!!🌊🐋🐳🐬🐟🐠🐡🦀🦐🦑🐙🐢🦈🌊
These cards are fabulous! Really love the backgrounds - just incredible.
just stunning as always Amy so talented so kind to take time to show the process i have finally got 12 distress inks its a start looking to buy the glaze and glossy paper looks so much fun i cannot wait kind regards Janine
Love, love, love these cards. Thank you for sharing your technique and how you made these cards. :D
Amy, I LOVE these cards and this technique! Thanks for sharing!
Wonderful! Great information and result
Thank you for another amazing video
That was epic. I'm so impressed! Both the backgrounds and the images are eye-catching "stars". Thanks a bunch!
I love this technique! Thanks for sharing 💙
Awesome cards!!!!!
Such a fun technique, I've been meaning to try it. Thank you for the inspiration ❤
I love them all ! Background is awesome.... :>)
Oh my greatness, you made some awesome cards. 💙 🐠
Your coloring is wonderful.
Love, love, love hoe these cards came out. Those backgrounds are amazing!
Absolutely beautiful cards and techniques Amy!! I also love the oxides!!
Definitely need to try this technique. Every time I buy printer ink they include a pack of photo paper, this will bee a way to use some of it. TFS
so cute!
I like these a lot!
Fin-tastic cards Amy! LOL Love them and your backgrounds are so pretty.
I have tried this using glossy photo paper and it was shiny in places and dull in others after using the glaze & buffing it. I am going to try it again just to see if it was something I did or didn't do just right. However, I do have glossy cardstock so I am going to give it a try on that as well. It really is fun to do though as you never know what you are going to get.
Hi Teresa, I have also tried this technique on glossy photo paper. I don't have the glaze, I just used a baby wipe and the oxide (chalk) came right off. What I've noticed with the photo paper is that the ink is absorbed immediately. No redos as I'm sure you found out. ha Hope this helps.
Yes Mary, I was pretty dull in places. I am not going to use that one but I might try it again to see if I have better results. However, like I said in my original comment that I DO have glossy cs so I will def. go with that for an actual card. I am sure it will yield a better result. LOL
Fantastic! 🦀
Amazing!!!
Amy, Please, don't be shy--Tell us what you really think of this Oxide Inks with the glaze technique..... ;D Love this technique and the colors/cards.
