Thank you for this review. Your reviews are some of the best out there. You DO listen to music with a musician's ear and strive to provide detailed information on every track, as compared to other eeviewers who provide only very generic information about albums.
Thanks for reviewing this album. One of the best of this year! I'm proud of being from the same country as this band. Jan Akkerman is one of the greatest guitarists of all time, the Dutch David Gilmour! You rock Scot!
I love Focus. I was snagged by all that yodeling all those decades ago! I really enjoy Focus’ latter day material and I am looking forward to this new release. Into my in basket it goes!
@@TheProgCorner I noticed a lot of people getting in a snit about this feud. I see the fun in it and I think Andy does as well. Life is too short to be taken so seriously! I’ve said it before differing views is what keeps everything moving and interesting. And after all we’re only talking about music not matters of life and death. I look forward to the next chapter in this epic saga!
Love Focus, big influence, especially Akkerman but everyone from the early albums is a legend. This new effort doesnt disappoint though. It has that organic vibe the 70's had and not processed to inscrutable machine perfection that kills a lot of stuff today. Just listen to the ride cymbal work... the time breathes. A worthy effort Ill enjoy taking in as I mix my own stuff. So nice to hear new stuff from them and the organ work alone is excellent and so very musical.
Everybody needs to listen to the track ‘Focus 3’ segue’ing into ‘Answers Questions Questions Answers’ from FOCUS 3 - Exceptional. There’s something about ‘Mother Focus’ though that makes it my overall favourite - very laid back, relatively speaking, compared to their others. I must get round to checking out their more recent albums.
Yes! We from the Netherlands do have some good bands every now and then. I've listened it once and it reminded me a bit of Gryphon. Maybe a bit far fetched. Great review!
Your man from Focus is similar to Steve Hackett in that, despite his very advanced age, he's still able to churn out music as good as (and occasionally even superior to) stuff he recorded in the 1970s. Very, very impressive.
Wow... I lost track of Focus after the Proby thing ('78ish). This is sweet - I gotta catch up. "Hamburger" is my favorite. And, Mescaline... BTW... I think you and Andy Edwards have more in common than disagreements, like most sane people. As we are different, we are still one. Peace on earth.
♥️Scot @@TheProgCorner. Thanks for lifting Focus. I gotta dive in it now. I'm a fan but haven't checked on them recently, so.... If I may I'd suggest to comment a little something on how an album compares to the old or typical band material. If there is something in which direction it evolves the band or if it stays true to "their style", as in "don't fix it if it ain't broken".
Thanks Scott for all you do to support the world's best music genre
You are WELCOME!!!!!
Concentrate on the music Scot, life's too short for feuds x
But the feud is fun…
Agree!!!!!!👍😎

I try!!! It’s hard because I want to dive into the theory of things but I don’t want to be too pedantic.
@@TheProgCorner You are striking just the right balance.

I love Pierre’s drumming!!!
@@TheProgCorner he has great feel and the jazz chops/influences come through nicely. Definitely not snapped to the grid. Refreshing.
His playing always surprises me. I like surprises!!!

The feud reminds me slightly of Jon Anderson (Scot) VS Steve Howe (Andy) ........Hopes and prayers to all !
Indeed!!!!
@@TheProgCornerSo once again the fans lose!!!😎
Sounds great to me and my tastes! I'm heading to get a copy NOW!
And welcome back to the world of music. )_) (_( )_)

Not "Meta Indefinitia", but "Indefinita". Means "undefined"!
Spell check is my nemesis…
