Hey, how is the jacket holding up after 1 1/2 years? Thanks in advance!
Still using it and really great, had a wet windy trip in Iceland last summer and it did well, I just reproof.
hi,
I am looking for a hard shell but not very keen on getting a typical crinkly noisy shell like the mountain equipment lhotse or the arcteryx beta ar. Stumbled upon eco shell and the further research got me here once gain to your channel.
can i request you for some long term review in terms of
1.waterproofness now, 2. how long can it stay in torrential rain, 3. drying time, 4. frequency of dwr reapplication, 5. do we have to use only flallraven dwr treatment or nikwax/grangers can be used as well, 6. what is your chest size 7. what kind of layering can be done under it.
thank you and best regards :-) rohit
Hi
I will try and answer your questions.
No problems with waterproofness but if you're working hard in it you can get sweaty so make sure you open the zips and ventilate.
I have been out on some long walks in the rain and not had issues.
I have mostly left it over night drying so don't have an exact drying time, sorry.
I apply DWR every now and then depending on how many times I have got wet, I use Fjallravens own product recommended for the jacket, it easy you just wash the jacket and apply when out of the machine and then leave to dry naturally.
My chest size is about a 45 I think.
Underneath the jacket I have layered wit a base layer/t shirt, shirt and a Rab down jacket as well and have enough room.
Hope this helps.

@@hitthetrail thank you so much for taking the the time to reply in detail, I have found your inputs very helpful. Most appreciated. 🙏
Great review thank you
Thanks!! Happy adventures!!!!
Your accent is so disgusting!🤢🤮
How is the jacket holding? I heard it can leak over time or even sooner if the rain is hard. How often do you need to apply DWR? I am trying to decide between this one and Goretex from Arcteryx. I need a gear that won't fail on a 5 day hike with rainy days.
Hi, I have been using the jacket for many trips and found it to be very reliable, I have only applied the DWR a couple of times and it works well. Sometimes I have got a little wet inside but I would say this is from sweat not rain as I have been working hard in the jacket at the same time and got hot. I hope you make a good decision its always a hard choice.
Good luck finding a large in stock in the UK .....

Fjallraven Medium is a 38”.
Not sure actually.
Hi you wearing a M size what is your height?
Hi sorry for the late reply I am 5ft11"
@@hitthetrail Same height as me. What's your chest and waist size please? You'll probably know the sizing of FJ kit is all over the place so ordering online doesn't fill me with confidence. I already own the Sten and Kiapak jackets but those two are also completely different sizing and both are large! But I'm looking for a waterproof option now. The waxing just isn't suitable for UK weather but I do like the Sten and Kiapak for when I know it's going to be dry
@@PhilHaddon Hi Phil sorry for the late reply my waist is a 32" and chest is a 40, I hope that helps.
