As a student pilot who flew in Australia i can confirm this is fake 1. Main issue the vid is not upside down 2. According to the far 2018 91.7 you must have a ground wire attach if flying to either Brazil or Australia. If you don't... Lets just say you will start falling upward. 3. His hud for his digital instruments is flat. Thus the world is flat. And his altimeter reads like us up north. Everyone knows in Australia you should be in the negatives when he starts generating "lift" let alone how his attitude indicator should read brown on top and blue on bottom. Smh we all know the world is a cone and Australia is on the flat side
There are a lot of theories that the reason it became so popular again is because someone spread it a bunch on 4chan and 8chan so you're probably right.
The blinking in the HUD is due to the differences in frequency between the image capture device and the HUD projector frequency, If they were perfectly synced, you would either see nothing at all, or a solid image. Just thought I'd add that for giggles. hehehe.
@@jacknickolstine3355 You can see a lot more than 60 fps, it's after around 150hz that it becomes almost impossible to tell the difference. Most people can't tell the difference between 150 or 250 fps.

Every time I see the "If earth is round, how come the line is straight?" argument, I try to imagine what would happen if these people tried to learn how integrals work. Their brains would probably short-circuit at the thought you can approximate small portion of a curve with a straight.

What's funny is that this tech predates World War 2 (technically predating WW1 but wasn't prominent till WW2) in the form of the reflector sights on fighter planes. If you've ever seen a red dot sight on a rifle, it's the same principle. But people still think it's freakin' black magic.
@@skyscall A dot projected in or even an etched or wire reticle in a normal telescopic scope won't shake with the gun either. The optics are a bit different, but that's the whole idea of a reticle, you don't have to line up two sights to aim. Many telescopic sights these days have the option of an illuminated reticle. The main difference is that with a telescopic sight your eye generally has to be very near the eyepiece to see anything, the red dot works fine even at arm's length from your eye which makes it more versatile.
I love red dot sights. I suffer from short sightedness and now find that the rear element of traditional "iron sights" falls into my reading glasses range while the front element is in normal range. One of the elements is always blurred as a result. No such issues with a red dot or a scope though.

HUDs have been a thing since at least WW2 combat planes. Look up reflector or reflex sight. A gyro assisted model G.G.S. was prototyped on the Supermarine Spitfire.

This is an amazing piece of equipment, in that it collimates the light that is sent to the pilot's eyes. In casual understanding, one might just think that that the image is "focused at infinity", but in reality this goes far beyond (pun unintended) of focus. It is not just a simple matter of the image being in or out of focus. Rather, the image in fact seems to be formed at infinity. It is for this reason that the camera shake in this video is not carried on to the projected image. Despite the camera shake, all HUD symbols seem firmly "attached" to the outside world, not to the HUD glass. You can see the HUD frame wobbling about, but the image itself is dead still at infinity. As the camera moves, there is parallax between the nearer HUD frame and the background far away, but NOT between the projected image and the background, because the image is actually at infinity. This never ceases to amaze me.

Direction is relative in space, so for all we know Australia is right side up and we are upside down. It can get very confusing very fast if you get into it deep enough.

Very cool seeing it in action @Wolfie6020. I actually worked on programming the visual data for a HUD when I was working for Lockheed Martin a few years back. The projection device interfaced with the telemetry computer and I had to read the data and perform the calculations necessary to translate them into all the various symbols, labels, warnings, and text that gets projected onto the HUD glass. It was a really fascinating project and really enjoyed it. I even got to test my code hands on by rigging it up to a medium fidelity flight simulator equipped with the same telemetry computer as the aircraft. Was great getting to simulate flying around in a fighter jets, and test warnings for stalling out, imminent crash, etc... All the various edge cases to make sure it all worked without glitches.

Most aircraft will fly pitch up. Where the nose is pointing does not indicate the actual direction of travel. Look at a landing plane, they don't point to the floor.
They do not have to pitch the nose down to follow the curve. The gyro keeps level to the center of the earth beneath the aircraft. Due to winds and such affecting the aircraft, the pilot or the autopilot need to adjust the controlling surfaces all the time. They never actively adjust to follow the curve.
The aircraft only have to maintain its altitude and it simultaneously follows the curvature of the earth. The pilot or the autopilot system only makes small adjustments to maintain the altitude.
Sorry, didn't realize how hard it is to separate sarcasm from FE "science". I know that angle of attack has nothing to do with whether a plane is climbing, descending, or flying level. I also know that to climb, energy has to come from somewhere.

We saw the method used to align the eyes of the pilot. We saw the second instrument, an artificial horizon confirming the information displayed by the HUD. Can someone please say that “... it doesn’t take perspective into account ...” and then refuse to say exactly how it should do so? Can someone please say that “Nothing changes?” Can someone please say that “... it’s just a display created using maths which can be altered to suit any model?” Can someone please say that because the glass screen is tilted, refractions will shift the horizon down - never mind the fact that this would make the display useless? They are fixated on a belief and even publicly proclaim that nothing will convince them otherwise (which is the problem and is absolutely irrational). They have, as a whole; demonstrated to us with this approach, that they couldn’t care less about the facts because all they have to do is scream “conspiracy” when it’s presented. Ex: “that’s not a real pic, that’s photoshop”, “oh it’s not real footage, it’s staged”, “those live feeds are just animation”, “I don’t trust those scientists, they’re secretly satanists”, “I don’t care what those space programs say, they’re part of the Illuminati”.... And they’ll feel fully justified in ignoring those facts because of these preposterous ideas. And even ironically, will attempt to scold those with sense, by telling them to “think for themselves.... don’t trust everything you hear...... do your own research”, when they get their ‘great knowledge’ from shitty memes, circle jerk forums, and listening to tools like Eric dubay and mark Sargent ride each other’s diks on RUclips.... This isn’t just ignorance, difference of opinion, or even lack of education. This is sheer cognitive dissonance, and straight up stupidity spawned from the need to believe in magic and childish superstition derived from primitive ideals and archaic theology. @@Wolfie6020 - my approach is this. If pilots can be fired for revealing the truth about flat earth, then why can't they do a video of them in the cockpit and just never show their face? There are a ton of commercial aircraft out there that fly all of the time and pick out one of those flights by a pilot talking from the cockpit would be impossible. It's not like you are going to see a 767 crossing the Atlantic and go, "I know which one that is, because there's only a single 767 that crosses the Atlantic, so it must be Captain Oveur, time to fire that guy!" Plus if Captain Oveur did get fired, wouldn't he make a pretty good chunk of change on a talking tour, book and movie on how pilots hide the shape of the earth? Similar to a Pepper's Ghost illusion, but where the only thing bright enough to be mirrored is the text and lines. Because everything else is dark they appear to float in space on the display surface. Very cool.

1. Main issue the vid is not upside down
2. According to the far 2018 91.7 you must have a ground wire attach if flying to either Brazil or Australia. If you don't... Lets just say you will start falling upward.
3. His hud for his digital instruments is flat. Thus the world is flat. And his altimeter reads like us up north. Everyone knows in Australia you should be in the negatives when he starts generating "lift" let alone how his attitude indicator should read brown on top and blue on bottom.

There are a lot of theories that the reason it became so popular again is because someone spread it a bunch on 4chan and 8chan so you're probably right.
The blinking in the HUD is due to the differences in frequency between the image capture device and the HUD projector frequency, If they were perfectly synced, you would either see nothing at all, or a solid image. Just thought I'd add that for giggles. hehehe.

You can see a lot more than 60 fps, it's after around 150hz that it becomes almost impossible to tell the difference. Most people can't tell the difference between 150 or 250 fps.

Every time I see the "If earth is round, how come the line is straight?" argument, I try to imagine what would happen if these people tried to learn how integrals work. Their brains would probably short-circuit at the thought you can approximate small portion of a curve with a straight.

What's funny is that this tech predates World War 2 (technically predating WW1 but wasn't prominent till WW2) in the form of the reflector sights on fighter planes. If you've ever seen a red dot sight on a rifle, it's the same principle. But people still think it's freakin' black magic.
And video games still think red dot sights are just red dots put onto a normal scope

@@skyscall A dot projected in or even an etched or wire reticle in a normal telescopic scope won't shake with the gun either. The optics are a bit different, but that's the whole idea of a reticle, you don't have to line up two sights to aim. Many telescopic sights these days have the option of an illuminated reticle. The main difference is that with a telescopic sight your eye generally has to be very near the eyepiece to see anything, the red dot works fine even at arm's length from your eye which makes it more versatile.
I love red dot sights.
I suffer from short sightedness and now find that the rear element of traditional "iron sights" falls into my reading glasses range while the front element is in normal range. One of the elements is always blurred as a result.
No such issues with a red dot or a scope though.

This is an amazing piece of equipment, in that it collimates the light that is sent to the pilot's eyes. In casual understanding, one might just think that that the image is "focused at infinity", but in reality this goes far beyond (pun unintended) of focus.
It is not just a simple matter of the image being in or out of focus. Rather, the image in fact seems to be formed at infinity. It is for this reason that the camera shake in this video is not carried on to the projected image. Despite the camera shake, all HUD symbols seem firmly "attached" to the outside world, not to the HUD glass. You can see the HUD frame wobbling about, but the image itself is dead still at infinity. As the camera moves, there is parallax between the nearer HUD frame and the background far away, but NOT between the projected image and the background, because the image is actually at infinity. This never ceases to amaze me.

The purpose of the head-up display is to make it as easy as possible for pilots to see and absorb their necessary flight or mission details while allowing them to remain "head-up and eyes-out" instead of looking down or away from what is occurring in the sky before them. This is not only safer for pilots and their crews, but also significantly increases their situational awareness and reduces pilot fatigue.
Initial concepts for HUDs were drafted at the height of World War II as a solution for pilots struggling to locate their targets in hostile skies, relying solely on verbal instructions. It wasn't until HUDs were developed that pilots were able to access information hands-free, with their head positioned up and forward; these HUDs would have been powered by conventional cathode tube technology. Today's more advanced systems see the introduction of advanced digital display drives - greatly increasing the performance and reliability of the display, whilst reducing overall weight.

I actually worked on programming the visual data for a HUD when I was working for Lockheed Martin a few years back.
The projection device interfaced with the telemetry computer and I had to read the data and perform the calculations necessary to translate them into all the various symbols, labels, warnings, and text that gets projected onto the HUD glass.
It was a really fascinating project and really enjoyed it. I even got to test my code hands on by rigging it up to a medium fidelity flight simulator equipped with the same telemetry computer as the aircraft.
Was great getting to simulate flying around in a fighter jets, and test warnings for stalling out, imminent crash, etc... All the various edge cases to make sure it all worked without glitches.
Wolfie continuing to help those actually trying to learn or seeking* evidence/information. For the ones that are not honest about it or that they only believe their version of reality, they'll just have some new theory on "what the HUD really is..or does."

Most aircraft will fly pitch up. Where the nose is pointing does not indicate the actual direction of travel.
Look at a landing plane, they don't point to the floor.
They do not have to pitch the nose down to follow the curve. The gyro keeps level to the center of the earth beneath the aircraft. Due to winds and such affecting the aircraft, the pilot or the autopilot need to adjust the controlling surfaces all the time. They never actively adjust to follow the curve.
The aircraft only have to maintain its altitude and it simultaneously follows the curvature of the earth. The pilot or the autopilot system only makes small adjustments to maintain the altitude.
Sorry, didn't realize how hard it is to separate sarcasm from FE "science". I know that angle of attack has nothing to do with whether a plane is climbing, descending, or flying level. I also know that to climb, energy has to come from somewhere.

I’m waiting to hear the imaginative objections to the evidence presented. 🙂 We saw the horizon being projected on to the scene outside the plane. We saw the method used to align the eyes of the pilot. We saw the second instrument, an artificial horizon confirming the information displayed by the HUD. Can someone please say that “... it doesn’t take perspective into account ...” and then refuse to say exactly how it should do so? Can someone please say that “Nothing changes?” Can someone please say that “... it’s just a display created using maths which can be altered to suit any model?” Can someone please say that because the glass screen is tilted, refractions will shift the horizon down - never mind the fact that this would make the display useless? Can someone come up with something? Probably not, but it’s fun to contemplate. 🙂
We need to see the pitch display while a plane is flying 500 plus mph. This was a tutorial on a plane on land, perfectly still. Nice video and cool tech, but proves nothing.

I think most of us understand that flat earthers do not care about the science, tech, data, or facts. They are fixated on a belief and even publicly proclaim that nothing will convince them otherwise (which is the problem and is absolutely irrational). Even though they constantly jump in their posts, blogs, and videos and ask for proof. They have, as a whole; demonstrated to us with this approach, that they couldn’t care less about the facts because all they have to do is scream “conspiracy” when it’s presented. Ex: “that’s not a real pic, that’s photoshop”, “oh it’s not real footage, it’s staged”, “those live feeds are just animation”, “I don’t trust those scientists, they’re secretly satanists”, “I don’t care what those space programs say, they’re part of the Illuminati”.... And they’ll feel fully justified in ignoring those facts because of these preposterous ideas. And even ironically, will attempt to scold those with sense, by telling them to “think for themselves.... don’t trust everything you hear...... do your own research”, when they get their ‘great knowledge’ from shitty memes, circle jerk forums, and listening to tools like Eric dubay and mark Sargent ride each other’s diks on RUclips.... This isn’t just ignorance, difference of opinion, or even lack of education. This is sheer cognitive dissonance, and straight up stupidity spawned from the need to believe in magic and childish superstition derived from primitive ideals and archaic theology. Some of them are even claiming flat earth denial is religious persecution... it’s madness. Because if any of them that cared about the truth; they would do the PROPER research from neutral sources and easily find the answers and explanations before they jump on SM and RUclips with their shitty backwoods redneck experiments and assertions.

@@Wolfie6020 - my approach is this. If pilots can be fired for revealing the truth about flat earth, then why can't they do a video of them in the cockpit and just never show their face? There are a ton of commercial aircraft out there that fly all of the time and pick out one of those flights by a pilot talking from the cockpit would be impossible.
It's not like you are going to see a 767 crossing the Atlantic and go, "I know which one that is, because there's only a single 767 that crosses the Atlantic, so it must be Captain Oveur, time to fire that guy!" Plus if Captain Oveur did get fired, wouldn't he make a pretty good chunk of change on a talking tour, book and movie on how pilots hide the shape of the earth?

Depends on aircraft - in military ones it is usually projected from below HUD - and it's much smaller than in passenger ones.
