My Dad never put potatoes in his when he did it on the stove. So this is new. And I’m surprised by the number of ppl who DO NOT add garlic to this recipe! Wow. Maybe it’s just a Hungarian thing. And never heard of green peppers in it. Thanks for sharing. 🎉
Why throw out that wonderful liquid? That is not waste! An excellent meal with reasonable carbs. The lactic acid in the sauerkraut(Always include the liquid!) tenderizes the meat.

According to the clock on your stove, you put the lid on the pot, at 12:34. You took the lid off, at 7:53. That's a total of 7hrs. 19mins. . Wake up man, you're in the kitchen! 😂...just sayin, ya might get burned! 🔥😳🔥 🤣 In my experience, 3-4 hrs. on high setting should be sufficient, using those particular ingredients. I haven't tried it with apples or the juice, but, I'm gonna try it. I don't doubt, it's as good as you make it sound. 😋👍
I'm knocking on 70 years. About 2 weeks ago, for the first time ever, I drained and rinsed the same brand of sauerkraut that I've used "forever". In my opinion, drained and rinsed sauerkraut isn't sauerkraut.

Yes it gives it a mild sweet apple taste.
