Sarah Hyland the actor who plays Hayley on the series has a kidney disorder. While filming she got sick and was hospitalized. The rest of the cast became like her real family and took care of her. Especially Julie Bowen who plays her mom Claire. She became like a real mom to her and made sure she was well taken care of. Also the actor who plays Alex, Ariel Winters had an abusive mother who used to body shame her and verbally abuse her. It was Sofia Vergara who mostly looked after her and gave her emotional support while she was going through a court battle to be emancipated from the mother.
The twins that played Lily were there only for first 2 seasons, so for another 9 seasons it is Aubrey, from toddler to teenager
Lily was in the series since she was a toddler. The infant Lily was a set of twins.
I've been married to my daughter a few times now, it was pretty adorable at the time, but I'm glad she's moved on to more interesting phases (rock collecting, bike riding, etc).
9:33 It *IS* the same girl for all of the clips of Lily in this video! They did *NOT* use any of the clips of the twin babies in this video. The same girl played Lily from Season 3 - 11, from the ages of 4 - 12.

It's so sweet that Cam and Mitch use their experience growing up queer to relate to Lily feeling different. There are actually studies that show gay couples tend to approach adoption with more empathy and compassion than their heterosexual counterparts.
She played Lilly from the 3 Season until the end so the one you saw in season 10 is the same one from season 3

Season 1 and 2 were twin babies and this Lily came in Season 3.

Seeing the guy dating the daughter Jason Mantzoukas reminded me of the show The League which was a GREAT show revolving around sports. Highly recommend to the sports Blokes.
That is the same actress playing Lily. It was only the baby that was a different actress. So from about 4 years old on is the same girl.
At least Phil was making it up to Alex in the last Walt and besides she hardly get screentime in season 2

I believe he was thinking that one child played baby Lily to a much older age than was the case. I can definitely appreciate how that could happen, not following entertainment media. I, too, didn’t know the baby was played by twins who had challenges acting and replaced with the other actress who played her into adolescence. Why would anyone necessarily know that?
So I'm wondering where Sophie is? I'm missng watching her on the channel. Hopefully she's just taking a short break and hasn't completely left the chsnnel. 🙄

it never ruined the show but Lily did not grow up to be a good actress. Sometimes you need luck with kid actors.
I think her quirky mannerisms and general weirdness are purposeful and part of the full mix of personalities on the show. I only really watch Modern Family on long-haul flights, where a person can binge on 5-6 episodes, and find it really cleverly done with hilarious lines and scenes. I think she fits in perfectly.
@@pacmanc8103 sorry she can't act (and there is nothing wrong with that, she got the role as an infant), she is monotone and has no presence. Seems like she is reading off a cue card. That just shows how good the rest of the cast was (and the writing for that matter) that it stood out so much to me. Sure she will not have to worry about money, certainly her college is paid for.
