Your dedication blows my mind. I can’t imagine reading a 5 book series that I ended up rating less than a 4 😂 I can’t even read 100 pages of a book I don’t love, dnf’ing like a wild woman lately. But I guess you said it was a page turner!
I didn’t expect to like the mindf*ck series as much as I did, I read it 2 years ago but I’ve been seeing a lot of booktubers talk about it recently and it’s making me want to re-read it
I have read all of these apart from mindfu*k series and totally agree with everything you said about the final 3! Sometimes it feels like I’m reading a different book to the masses!!
I’m so relieved to have finally found someone that feels the same way I do about A Study In Drowning. I’m glad people liked it, but I couldn’t listen to one more person sing its praise.
The Butterfly Garden is one of my favorite books. I read it when I was first getting into darker psychological thrillers and it blew my mind. Skip the other books, though.
I felt the same way as you with Emily Wilde! It just ended so fast and I wanted the ending to be longer. I was not satisfied with the ending but also want to read book 2.
I enjoyed Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries and just finished Map of the Otherworlds. As a sequel, It was better. More extensive cast and more fae. A Study in Drowning, I agree, could be better, but as a YA not bad. The world itself felt like the reader had to fill in the untold. (I would like to hear your opinion on A Far Wilder Magic, also YA)
I also really enjoyed the Mindf*ck series and was not at all expecting that. I agree on the covers though, they are not just bad but also don’t make sense?!
Lmao bruh as soon as I started watching I saw your earrings and was like omg i nEED them😭😭 Was legit gonna comment and ask but thankfully you told us instead hahahha Edit: I can't afford it shkskajskfjdshh
ASID was awful, people have been LYING about this book😂 The descriptions of the house were good, but the layout didn't make any sense. The whole thing was drowning in plotholes.
a study in drowning is actually marketed as young adult but probably got put in a lot of adult lists because ava reids other books are adult
I freaking love the mindf*ck series 😭
Me too I read it last year ❤

A study in drowning feels as damp as the house they stay in
Wendell gave me Howl vibes, I'm excited to read the sequal
I’m not normally into dark romance, but this Howl comment might get me to read the first book in this series 😂
@@andtheywerereaders not sure if there's another Howl but I was referring to Howl from Howl's Moving Castle lol
@@andtheywerereadersWendell is from Emily Wilde not the dark romance series! lol 😂
Also, I really like this chill, conversation style of video. Really loved this one!

I really love this type of videos. I can listen to you all day, your voice is so relaxing.
um... ASID was literally marketed as Ava Reid's first YA book.
It's not meant to be Adult or marketed as such 👀

I also gave in to the Mindf*ck series because of Facebook and I ended up giving it a 3.75 too 😂 it was also my first read of January 😂😂
Me and Elias having the same first book of 2024 heheheh
Why did I think you were holding a candle 😂

I felt your review and rating so much for a study in drowning !!!🤣
What a coincidence…. 😂 I just started rereading the mindf*ck series last night. I can’t be bothered with the quotes so I skip them.

I actually found some booktubers who enjoyed this book that's why I decided to give it a try I absolutely enjoyed it
Thank you, I did not care for A Study in Drowning mainly because Effy was the worst.
