It’s definately a tree 🌳 just like all the petrified forests around the USA. Dinosaurs didn’t eat little trees like we have today, everything would have been relative to the oxygen content. The parts that look like bricks are the tree cell structures and a lot has already eroded but if you look at a regular sized petrified tree it looks exactly the same. Man I would love to go back in time and see what the heck was actually going on 😮

I love pilot mountain. When i first got my license me and my friends would drive out there almost every weekend. It was always so strange how that is the only "mountain" for miles in an otherwise pretty flat area. Great memories there and an awesome park.
It stands alone too for the most part. There's nothing in the area that ascends as high as Pilot Mountain so it kinda dwarfs the hilly area. Mount Airy, NC (Mayberry) is not far either. This was the birthplace of Andy Griffith and the model city for his show. There are several mentions of Mount Pilot in the show as well.
@@raynawaddell6834 Me too! Once I was headed to Mt Airy on 52 and Pilot Mountain was just getting into view and two fighter jets roared by me overhead, I can only guess they were trainers from Cherry Point, but they did a low to ground 180 at Pilot Mountain and headed back east in a matter of seconds. It was heart-stopping and awesome.

Pilot Mountian was privately owned at one time. Sold to the state and made into a state park. Many yrs ago had stairs to the top of the knob. Locals say looks like a boob or nipple
@@DrDerekG73 Yes, the park service put those in there are similar stone stairs at other parks. A good example is the Lower Cascade Falls at Hanging Rock
Amazing! This is so good of you to make a record of these things. I’m not sure what that use to be but it’s not just a “natural” mountain. I love your imagination. How many would see that face? That is what makes a good investigator - one who looks beyond the obvious. I was thinking how easy and safe it might be to go to the top of that structure, but coming down might be a more difficult task! 🥴 Glad you are safe and not one heat stroke! Hallelujah! Thanks guys! 🙏🕊✝️🩷
Definitely looks like it's a petrified tree that later, before the petrification was used as some type of structure. Dang interesting find guys. Thnx for sharing ❤
Please report back after you do! There's so many great places to get out and enjoy God's creation in that area. I recommend checking out Hanging Rock State Park too.
There are mountain tops in Montana that have bolts and other metal remnants on them. I was told by a locals that there use to be antennas were mounted on these mountain tops and have since been removed.
Wow! BOLTS IMBEDDED AND SOME KIND OF PIPE? PLUS STEPS GOING UP. HMMMM......Definitely some kind of structure made into the tree stump at one time that got petrified. Thanks for sharing! ❤
Neat vid. I always liked this topic. One of lifes many mysteries. There was a documentary i watched years ago just for shits and giggles. I think it was called "no trees on flat earth". The ddocu actually had nothing to do with flat earth, however it was mostly about giant tree stumps. Anyhow worth watcing if you can still find it.
I live in Pilot mountain and I have been saying that for years!!! It's petrified wood. I don't know how anyone can look at it and think it's a natural formation. The g...ts cut the tree down. No doubt in my mind. We also call it Nipple mtn😂
Me and a buddy got to the top. There's like another little bump up there in the middle that we couldn't get to though, because that entire top area is crazy thick with brambles and shit. Impossible to get through. Also, those trails/stairs are no f'n joke son! If you're not in at least moderately good shape, you're gonna have a real tough time. Especially the stairs that go up forever. We just made our own way up wherever possible and it was way easier AND more fun. Same goes with Hanging Rock. Both of those spots are super fun to climb around and find your own ways up and down.
Oh wow! That's awesome. Hope you got some good pics from there. The wife and I did hanging rock the next day. I'd love to go back when it was cooler and have more time to explore!
@@jtfollowsjc No pics, unfortunately. It was also around 20 years ago. No more of that stuff for me. I'm still in alright shape, but I've got some back injuries, so climbing is not a great idea. I'm over it 😆 And greetings from the 'boro next door!
Brick like stone at the base definitely doesn’t change the possibility that it was a giant tree. If a giant tree existed today, wouldn’t it be a hot spot for real estate investment?
I hope you guys are kidding because The Big Pinnacle is a Quartzite feature and ancient sea bed hundreds of millions of years old. All those stairs you were geeking over were put there in the past thirty years. I have lived within sight of Pilot most of my life and recently worked on the Seasonal Staff for almost 6 months. It is part of the Saura Range of mountains, that include Sauratown Mnt. and Hanging Rock (State Park) they are ALL composed of the same Quartzite material. If you seriously think it was a tree or a building you are wildly mistaken. Would it be safe to guess that you know the Earth is Flat? Pilot is a wonderful and beautiful place with a vibe all it's own, but it's not a tree stump.
Literally was there a week or two ago. Walked around the base a lot of embedded quartz veins, I would guess it was the center of a volcano where the mountainside that used to contain it eroded away over time. I mean those mountains are way old then most people know.
