Subsidies, Benefits on EVs and Hybrids
EV policy is rolled out by each state & central Govt depending on the amount of priority that each state is giving to control pollution and promote electric propulsion. The existing policies are discussed in this video. Besides conserving fossil fuels, switching over to EVs is also a step towards controlling unhealthy exhaust gases & noise pollution that the diesel & petrol vehicles create.

Thanks sir. Even I had inquired from a few dealerships earlier and all of them said there was no subsidy. Hence I thought of researching on this myself. When I found out that there was an existing policy, I thought of sharing this with everyone here.
Even the draft for Ev policy is ready in UP and it should be finalised by the end of this month in the cabinet meeting as per the news.

What do we mean by first 200 units of vehicle or first 1000 units ? Looks like i am already late then...
How can we come to know that 1000 vehicles sold out or not? As you mentioned first 1000 or 10000 cars will be applicable?
How I can check if I am still eligible for subsidy as I have purchased Strong hybrid Car in Haryana.
Actually it’s not applicable while we enquire from showroom , they said actual notification not received .
The notification is available in public domain.

This policy should be transparent, it feels it's a trap to accumulate sales... If you didn't get benefit no one will be there to answer neither dealer nor gov.
Subsidies are applicable in case of corporate registration. I mean if I buy a vehicle in the name of company. Like corporate car policies of company. Will I get subsidy in that case. Also what is vehicle tax. Most of the time we got ex- showroom price and RTO. I believe ex- showroom is inclusive of tax. And last question how to apply for subsidy.

As mentioned the benefits are only for first x no of units. How we will come to know whether we come under that category? Also if we don't come under that category majority of the people won't be benefitted

@@AayushTanwar No Worries Aayush and thanks for consolidating the information. One of the dealers has offered me RTO discounts and have asked to apply for subsidy through government. Not sure if it makes sense but have decided to wait for some time till the things are more clear

They might not be aware. Share the policy document with them, or the link of this video. They'll connect with they regional/head office and might update themselves.

Hi, you have covered most of my questions regarding the subsidies and RTO charges. I called one agency (in Gurgaon, Haryana) today to enquire about Tiago EV which was launched a couple of days ago. To my surprise, the agent gave the same response as you mentioned they would give that the EV policy is not out yet or they don't have all the details from RTO department. So as of now, they are telling registration cost of 8% and no information on vehicle subsidy.
This is what surprises me. All dealers and departments aren't aware of this policy inspite of being out in public domain.

The purchase benefits are for individual buyers.
However, exemption in motor vehicle tax and discounted registration fee apply to all.

Please if you can advise on if a non harayana residing person can avail these benefits and what will be required in that case.
As per policy the car needs to be bought from haryana and registered in haryana.
Whether you are non-haryanvi does not matter as long as the above 2 conditions are fulfilled.
@@AayushTanwar No, you should have Aadhaar card and any other residence proof to buy a car in Haryana. One cannot buy the car without these documents.

@@AayushTanwar Aadhaar card is must along with any other proof like election id, water bill, electricity bill, court registered rent agreement is OK but not a notarized one. I bought 2 cars from Haryana including Nexon EV max Lux 7.2 under the subsidy on 18 dec 2022 hence I know all this for sure. However, I paid the required registration fee, but there was no exemption on that as all dealers said that this provision is not being done at VAHAN portal by Haryana govt yet. Do you have any idea if the registration fee exemption will also get reimbursed along with 15% subsidy?

1. I guess the Aadhaar card is necessary becasue the govt wants every citizen to have one mandatorily, else there are other docs too that can be shown for id/address proof purposes.
2. As per the policy the discounted registration fee for EVs is Rs. 500. This means that you were supposed to pay only Rs. 500. There's no reimbursement clause for this fee.
3. Looks like the VAAHAN portal hasn't been updated to accomodate this scheme. This is a digital lag.
4. Did you get exemption on the motor vehicle tax ? Also, did you receive the 15% subsidy on ex-showroom price ?
5. How would a customer know whether his car is one among the first 1000 units ? Does the dealer have any realtime updates with the RTO, or does the customer discover this only after purchasing the car ?
6. How's the ownership experience of the Nexon EV Max ?
