It’s so weird seeing this 4 years later.. I’m not American and I don’t live in the US but I remember it like yesterday when Trump won. I was in my first year of uni in the computer lab class from 12-3pm and every half hour we kept tabs on who was in front. At one point a guy said “It looks like Trumps gonna win” and I swear the energy in that room completely changed. Everyone pulled out their phones and it was so weird like, people’s true colours came out that day and I was completely shocked to hear my own teacher say “We’re all going to die -he’s gonna start a war.” Looking back now there was so much unnecessary overreaction, like we were only 19 and to have fear pumped into us like that was unbelievable -I still can’t get over it (and for what?) 4 years later we’re all still alive and you know what, I hope he wins again just to piss everyone off.

I don't think that warrants instantaneously disbelieving everything the media says. That is a very dangerous and slippery slope to be going down.
That was my point about meteorologists by the way. Nobody will ever be 100% accurate about anything. That doesn't mean we should revert to prehistoric days before we started mass documentation of our activities. How many times have scientists believed something to be 100% accurate and then later found out that they weren't very accurate at all and that the topic is completely different from what they originally thought?
It's happened thousands of times but that doesn't mean we should ignore scientists like it's fake news. It's more like trying your hardest to discover the truth and also being humble enough to admit when you're wrong. You can see the opposite of this mindset in almost every religion where the theme is "everything is fake except what I'm about to tell you so do what I say and pay me."
