The debate is tiresome. The Hebrew scriptures are so vast and poetically written with the use of idioms everywhere that if I wanted to make the claim that a 4 legged donkey will materialize into to messiah I could and would seem every bit as believable as those used for jc. If the nt claims be true it must be communicated to us CLEARLY which obviously has not. And because there can be a seemingly good argument made for jc to those that don't know Hebrew or those easily fooled makes it important that it be absolutely clear. The confusion starts with the nt. It is logical and reasonable that the Hebrew Bible only can be trusted.
It is actually very clear and not that complicated. The Christians teach that the OT and NT were for different peoples at different times. They disregard the OT pretty much except for the Commandment to tithe. It miraculously survived. The Jews believe that the Oral Torah applies to them. They have the Oral Torah along with the Zohar and Kabbala. They don't lend any validity to the NT or to Jesus. As a Christian who is in the teeny tiny minority of those who Profess Jesus as their Messiah my opinion is that you must understand the OT to understand the NT. They are complimentary and not contradictory. Jesus taught nothing that violates the OT or He could not be the Messiah. Paul certainly didn't teach anything different than Jesus. He can be hard to understand to those who are unstable in the faith or unlearned. They twist his words to their own destruction. Job 19:25 speaks of a redeemer in the present tense but also in the future tense. The need for a Messiah is found throughout the bible. Its meaning will depend on what your concept of the Messiah is. Did he come for all people to gather them unto God or will he come for the redemption of his chosen people. There is also the matter of whether you believe that you were born with a sin nature that needs redemption from sin. I toned this post down some so hopefully it will be allowed to stay up. As a Christian I can tell you that the modern church teaches a different Jesus and a different gospel than that which Jesus delivered. There should be sign that says "Ichabod" over just about all their doors. This does not invalidate Christianity in my opinion but it does attest to the fact that "Narrow is the gate and FEW that find it". This fact is lost on the modern church. The Jewish and Christian views on the Messiah and what He will do are vastly different. The Pharisees rejected Jesus claims to be the Messiah because they were looking for the Messiah to establish an earthly kingdom which Jesus did not do. He said that His was a spiritual Heavenly Kingdom. Some in Chabad claim that Rabbis Schneerson was the Messiah. You are correct that you won't find the word Messiah in the OT or the NT but in Job 19:25 He is called the Redeemer. It was used present tense but spoken of also in a future tense. To the Jews the Messiah would be the "Anointed One" or "Chosen One" of which there can be more than one. To the Christian the Redeemer is a deliverer or redeemer from sin. So while you may not find that particular word in the bible the meaning is all over it. It just depends on what your concept of the Messiah will be. I have no idea if you are Christian or Jewish but be aware that the Jews and Christians worship different Gods and are totally incompatible despite what the Christian pastors teach. I think it comes down to if you believe that you need a Savior from your sins and that this Messiah came for all of mankind or if you think that the Messiah will come to redeem the Jews. I choose Christianity but I am in opposition to any church that has 501c3 status. They cannot be Christian despite what they might profess with their lips. The teach a different Jesus and a different gospel than what He preached. My opinion only and I am just hoping to provide an answer you may not have heard before. Best wishes.

The debate is tiresome. The Hebrew scriptures are so vast and poetically written with the use of idioms everywhere that if I wanted to make the claim that a 4 legged donkey will materialize into to messiah I could and would seem every bit as believable as those used for jc. If the nt claims be true it must be communicated to us CLEARLY which obviously has not. And because there can be a seemingly good argument made for jc to those that don't know Hebrew or those easily fooled makes it important that it be absolutely clear. The confusion starts with the nt. It is logical and reasonable that the Hebrew Bible only can be trusted.
It is actually very clear and not that complicated. The Christians teach that the OT and NT were for different peoples at different times. They disregard the OT pretty much except for the Commandment to tithe. It miraculously survived. The Jews believe that the Oral Torah applies to them. They have the Oral Torah along with the Zohar and Kabbala. They don't lend any validity to the NT or to Jesus. As a Christian who is in the teeny tiny minority of those who Profess Jesus as their Messiah my opinion is that you must understand the OT to understand the NT. They are complimentary and not contradictory. Jesus taught nothing that violates the OT or He could not be the Messiah. Paul certainly didn't teach anything different than Jesus. He can be hard to understand to those who are unstable in the faith or unlearned. They twist his words to their own destruction. I am not promoting Christianity I am simply explaining a view you may have never heard before. We all make our own choices. Best wishes.

Both the Roman and Greek alphabets had no difference between majuscules and minuscules until the middle ages

Job 19:25 speaks of a redeemer in the present tense but also in the future tense. The need for a Messiah is found throughout the bible. Its meaning will depend on what your concept of the Messiah is. Did he come for all people to gather them unto God or will he come for the redemption of his chosen people. There is also the matter of whether you believe that you were born with a sin nature that needs redemption from sin. I toned this post down some so hopefully it will be allowed to stay up. As a Christian I can tell you that the modern church teaches a different Jesus and a different gospel than that which Jesus delivered. There should be sign that says "Ichabod" over just about all their doors. This does not invalidate Christianity in my opinion but it does attest to the fact that "Narrow is the gate and FEW that find it". This fact is lost on the modern church. The Jewish and Christian views on the Messiah and what He will do are vastly different. The Pharisees rejected Jesus claims to be the Messiah because they were looking for the Messiah to establish an earthly kingdom which Jesus did not do. He said that His was a spiritual Heavenly Kingdom. Some in Chabad claim that Rabbis Schneerson was the Messiah. You are correct that you won't find the word Messiah in the OT or the NT but in Job 19:25 He is called the Redeemer. It was used present tense but spoken of also in a future tense. To the Jews the Messiah would be the "Anointed One" or "Chosen One" of which there can be more than one. To the Christian the Redeemer is a deliverer or redeemer from sin. So while you may not find that particular word in the bible the meaning is all over it. It just depends on what your concept of the Messiah will be. I have no idea if you are Christian or Jewish but be aware that the Jews and Christians worship different Gods and are totally incompatible despite what the Christian pastors teach. I think it comes down to if you believe that you need a Savior from your sins and that this Messiah came for all of mankind or if you think that the Messiah will come to redeem the Jews. I choose Christianity but I am in opposition to any church that has 501c3 status. They cannot be Christian despite what they might profess with their lips. The teach a different Jesus and a different gospel than what He preached. My opinion only and I am just hoping to provide an answer you may not have heard before. Best wishes.
