Traktor Pro 3 and now 4 have many problems and things I would like to see changed or added functionality.
Problems:
1. When you set C&D as remix decks and add drops(one shot) Auto setting doesn't work to mark one as the master automatically. Then manually setting it to Master only works if you don't scratch with the Master deck. Constantly while loading different tracks, you must keep setting which deck is master. This is a pain because sometimes you forget.
2. When you set up your decks the way you like, effects, setting up the decks, as either track, remix, or stems deck; upon closing the out of Trakor looks like it saves your setup, When you open that assumption is entirely false. You have to each time set up the interface this is also a pain.
3. Also while you have four decks set up A&B track decks, C&D remix decks, and go into settings and select only two deck layouts (A&B) use sync the tempo sliders will not work once you disable sync.
4. Traktor Pro 4 "KILLED" the initial beat grid white marker if you reset the grid
5. Accessing a network drive in Traktor Pro 4 does work it gets stuck at saying (Loading Sub Directories) This was addressed TP3 with external hard drives and Network drives.
6. Setting the effects to Pattern Player and I'm using the S3 controller, the Pattern Player sounds like a metronome

I watched your S4Mk3 video from a few years back! Glad you're still here! I appreciate your tone, sense of humour and general vibe. I was completely new to Traktor at the time (switched from Serato because the S4Mk3 is such a durable, affordable controller with great workflow) and your video brought me up to speed very quickly! This video is just as great! I haven't been very excited about Stems until you showed what can be done here!!! It's a shame that flexible beatgridding is such a slog, but that's not your fault 😉
That’s so kind. The flexible beat gridding will always be a bit of a chore tbh. I’m so used to doing it for years on Ableton I get a bit numb, but it is worth it :-). Shout if you need any help.
@@DAVEDigitalandVinylExpert so I bought myself a DJ tech hybrid 101 system and it says tractor pro on the box so will this software work with it or does it have to be a certain type of software with tractor pro DJ software?

Excellent, in-depth video about the great new features, thanks! Only thing is, you mentioned that it is possible to select all and generate stems; bulk generate isn't possible yet, it does have to be done on each track individually
Hey Dave, thanks for the great video! Just one question - you said in the video that there is a way to generate stems for multiple tracks at the same time, but it didn't work for me, only one track at a time can be selected for stem generation...

Do you know if there are any Traktor videos specific to scrolling loading tracks quickly? I'm using pro 3 with timecode vinyl 😊
Thank you. Are you using just timecode? The internal of the vinyl is a tree scroll or shift and scroll for other controllers.

Thanks Dave, really helpful and detailed video. Quick question on the stems and x1mk3. NI don't appear to have any default mapping and haven't been able to find a template for stems. Are we meant to buy the F1 or is it easy enough to map the stem controls over manually? Many thanks

Top stuff D.A.V.E thanks for the video. Would like to see how F1 generally integrates with TP4. Interested in possibilities of mapping pattern player to the F1 grid whilst running it on a solo channel (similar to sequencer). Is that possible? Also like to definitively know how F1 works with Stems before I update (send fx in particular). Appreciate all your efforts
Great comment: You'll know when you don't need it again as it will start to become annoying. This statement applies to so many scenarios ;)
Does the S4mk3 hardware unlock TP4? Or do you need to pay for the upgrade?
Got to the Stems part now. Aren't the four little Bullits showing whether a Stem on that Deck is muted or not new to Traktor 4 Pro? I know Traktor 3 Pro had it for Filter on/off (blue bullits) and FX Send on/off (orange bullits) but I don't remember any white bullits for mute/unmute, just the knob icon and how much a stem was faded.
Good spot. You are dead right. The buttons are new as TP3 only had volumes. Thanks for picking this up.
Great video! One question regarding installation please: Do you have to uninstall Pro 3 first or will it replace Pro 3 or do you have both in parallel then? And then import everything from 3 to 4?

Thanks. It’s stand alone and runs separately to TP3 and will import everything. You will see them as separate in Native Access.

Hi Dave, my CPU is going crazy when i generate Stems, and it's not possible to do it while i'm playing a track... ( My pc is quite solid i use it for production as well and never had any CPU issues) Any tips to sort it out ?

Native Instruments are soooooo behind on updating their software, and they still have not addressed latency...
What was the Traktor S4 Mk3 (Coreaudio). Mine doesnt have that option, just shared or exclusive

I really dont like the new UI...
Since upgrading to Traktor Pro 4 (TP4), Deck A and D show as Live Input upon opening. This software, like the previous one, is very buggy. When you close Traktor Pro of any version you are presented with a process that supposedly saves your configuration. To a degree, it saves a configuration and places it in some file but you are led to believe that the next time you open Traktor it will open with your latest configuration and or settings. This is far from the truth and each time you open TP4 you have to manually configure everything. This is now how "GOOD" software should respond especially paid software. I have sent to support more than once with their reply to delete the current configuration file go into the backup folder and grab that file to replace the deleted one. That's not a fix it's a temporary band-aid that gets rips off eventually and you are back to square one. If I have to do this manually I'm sure GOOD developers should be capable of automating this task to fix the software. What's the point of saving the configuration upon closing when opening TP4 or any version of Traktor Pro requires you to manually configure your settings each time…This is just Dumb!
The update is a joke... What have they done over the last few years??? Absolutely nothing....
