- The S-Mic 2 is the new shotgun microphone from Deity. And in this video, we put it up against the Sennheiser K6/ME66, the Rode NTG1 and the Saramonic SR-NV5 to see how they compare in a typical indoor room environment.

Overall, this microphone has blown me away. It's got a nice strong signal like the K6/ME66, but it doesn't require as much work in post to get the sound how I like it.
Well, worth checking out if you're looking for a new shotgun mic.

Fantastic review. I really appreciate all of the samples and comparisons. Thank you for creating and posting!
Thank you
Thanks for taking the time to put together this video! I just ordered the S-Mic 2, partially based on your results. However, did you have the high-pass filter on any of the other mics while recording? As the Deity doesn't have that feature, it could have made a difference. For me, the Deity and Rode sounded good and the others sounded thin. If they both had a filter, that could be part of the reason.
While he doesnt answer that question, in the video he show both mics after the recording teat and on both of them the High Pass filter is Off or set to flat. I believe that how he recorded.
hey diy,
is it normal to hear buzzing/background noise for this mic?
wow and i love my m e 66 but its a clear winer
