    I have a suspicion that one of the reasons you enjoy this Div is the amount of Recon it gets.
    It's probably difficult to notice, point to point, when you're seeing something/able to react to something because you've got a recon unit on hand for it. But you'll still notice the effects, which will aggregate into this increqsed performance/enjoyment.

    I agree very strongly on that 88 assesment sadly, and not only 88 but all dual-purpose guns. To me the greatest problem is that extra suppression and damage it takes, it just makes it unable to duel *anything* and slug it out in actual engagement where rounds start flying, and in turn it loses to things that it should easily be able to duel. It just doesn't trade for these 120 points, period. In my opinion Eugen should remove the damage/suppression multiplier from dual-purpose AA guns. They're by definition _dual purpose_ so they should have a trait that makes them able to act at least somewhat as an AT gun, which in this game always means taking damage in fights. Removal of damage/suppression multiplier from HE of ground units for cost of reducing HP a little (hell I'd be fine if it had 6-7 HP like Pak40) would be a massive improvement.

      The hatred of 88s is weird. Anytime I arty them it takes like 8 volleys from multiple guns to bring it down.
      Meanwhile any air in the sky gets hit by a laser guided rocket and immediately forced into fallback.
      The only way I have found to quickly take one down is 2kHE.

    • @czwarty7878
      @czwarty7878 3 месяца назад

      @@BlitkriegsAndCoffee we're talking their dual-purpose perfomance here, in AT mode. That's the problem, that any 2k HE will instantly destroy it with zero ability for it to respond (because it gets instant at least 50% suppression in response to HE shell hit).
      As for arty, yes it can take long to kill it but so what if it survives if you are constantly suppressed by barrages. And again, it may survive vs arty, but for example mortar barrage will kill it very quickly. And if you want to use it in AT role (in vicinity of 2km from enemy tanks) then you're also constantly in range of enemy mortars.
      As for their AA role I don't have opinion here, I think they're okay. But they're dual-purpose and you pay premium exactly for that dual-purpose ability, yet you're basically unable to use it efficiently if you play against half-competent opponent

      @@BlitkriegsAndCoffee if you fire at the right distance one volley from a 60 pts mortar will pin if not kill it, letting you run it down with any t-34/cromwell, so you can't rely on it for AT at all. if you let it only as AA, it is really weak to any long range arty and can't avoid getting killed

    I think you have made a rookie mistake with your tanks - a total of 27 medium tanks and 2 heavy meaning 2, 375pts total. Given the likelyhood of not loosing 6 recon J's in Phase A having the G's becomes redundant. bringing in 6 H's in B then 12 in C is also redundant - never yet seen a game where 12 medium tanks were needed in Phases B & C so double vet the 'C' phase at least. remember the golden rule that you risk loosing more tanks in A if you forgo their support defence e.g. AA & inf. support

    • @atkpwrgaming

      Its not really a rookie mistake, its just that you may need more or less in a certain game, and my grind games tend to go quite long

  • @BlitkriegsAndCoffee

    For the Panzer II vet, do you not also want the extra vision? I feel like it matters for spotting infantry in towns.
    I suspect most of the Explosive Lobbers are going to make a comeback. Finding out the 'attack ground' ability stops units in flames from moving has been game changing for me, and gives them a nice micro trick to break the rock/paper/scissors of CQC in the same vein as SMGs kiting Explosives.
    While 9th Panzer is rightfully drawing a lot of comparisons to 20th Panzer, I also find it feels like a fixed 14th Infantarie. Its kind of funny, but 14th has the better Armor tab and 9th has the better infantry tab. You get a similar amount of Panzer IIs, Panzer IVs vs Stugs, and way fewer Tigers, but in turn get cheaper Pios and trade Grens for PGrens.

    Two questions AtkPwr:
    1. Looking forward to your new tier list! This last patch added a lot of little touches…going to be very interesting seeing how the divisions may have shifted (Koruck with 15-pt Schupo now, e.g….) and, of course, where the new divisions will fit. Any idea when that’ll be out?
    2. I know under Men of Steel, it was a solid “Infantry META” - going to be very interesting if it may have shifted to a “combined arms META”?

    Did you notice the Marder III F-22 has 1500 meters range, instead of 1750 meters that Marder III (M) has? To me that's a big problem as you can no longer outrange medium tanks (T-34, Sherman, Cromwell etc everything with 75mm)
    This hurts it's efficiency and I'm not sure it's worth to take for 40 points

    • @EstellammaSS
      @EstellammaSS 3 месяца назад

      F-22/ZIS-3 always had 1500m range. They still aim faster and shoot faster than mediums, so if you vet them they should still win most of the time.
      They also have 2.2 damage HE that can take out support weapons quite effectively, albeit they don’t bring too much shells

    • @czwarty7878
      @czwarty7878 3 месяца назад

      @@EstellammaSS But this gun isn't original F-22, it's a German "remake" with enlarged chamber for shells of German production which have longer case(=more propellant=higher velocity=higher penetration and range). This is why it has 130mm of penetration, while original Soviet F-22 has 105mm pen.
      I don't know whether there is a historical reason to have it have range of 1500m instead of 1750m like PaK40-equipped Marders, but to me it should have 1750m because Panzer IV, StuGs and JPz IV also have 1750m with their KwK40 cannons ("weakened" version of PaK40, so in turn pretty close in performance to this germanized F-22)
      So it's kinda weird to me to have Marder variant which is outranged by Panzer IV, even though they both have same class of guns. I don't know.
      Nonetheless what I mean with first comment is the perfomance in game. AtkPwr compared this to Marder III (M) without mentioning the difference in range so I thought I'd bring it up for discussion, as with barely 10 points of difference there's too much loss considering lower range and no APCR. RoF seems to be the same and Marder III (H) brings 10 HE shells vs 7 HE shells for F-22 version, so ehhh I'd rather wager Marder III (H) is almost nobrainer choice
      I'm just wondering if I'm maybe missing something

    • @hibikinyan7180
      @hibikinyan7180 3 месяца назад

      While its true f-22 variant is worse in a long ranged fight, the great thing about marders is that they also provide a brawling role which axis often lacks due to price, high rof and 10 hp, at which f-22 variant is fantastic. We already essentially had this unit in the game at 35pt before last patch (basic marder 3 carried this gun), and it was pretty disgusting so its definitely still at least good at 40. Also this gun still retains 2.2 he damage from f-22, so its actually better infantry support despite low ammo.

    • @atkpwrgaming
      @atkpwrgaming  3 месяца назад

      The unit is still really efficient at that price. Im not sure how often you are actually out ranging tanks as much positively trading with them

  • @steffent.6477
    @steffent.6477 3 месяца назад

    I don't see any good reason to choose the 35R(f) over the Stugs, Marders or even Japa IVs if you have too many points. Range and armour decide almost everything in my experience.

    • @czwarty7878
      @czwarty7878 3 месяца назад +1

      Their cost efficiency is the reason. You have 25pts unit which can punch way above it's weight. You can take them in pairs, threes or even fours and lock down route in early game for light and medium vehicles. Marder punches harder, but needs to kill more to pay for itself
      It's also more efficient than heavier things against light vehicles, halftracks, armored cars, light tanks. 15-20rpm means it kills these things like a machine gun and can kill a lot while in short time window (eg. when they're passing on road), while Marder for example has to reload longer and will kill less. So these Panzerjagers are extra useful when enemy is doing early rush tactic
      For heavier targets he has PaK40 and Panzer IVs, so it's better to fill two niches than double on these units

    • @czwarty7878
      @czwarty7878 3 месяца назад

      Also these early StuGs suck sadly, they just don't trade well with their 65pts price and the fact they have only 5 HE rounds mean they can't defend themselves vs AT guns like Jagdpanzer for example. Really weird choice by Eugen tbh

    • @czwarty7878
      @czwarty7878 3 месяца назад

      @@steffent.6477 but they're not supposed to bounce, they have to rely on hitting and killing the enemy first anyway. If it does get hit, penned and killed it's no biggie it's just 25 points. If StuG gets killed it costs you 65 points. And 70mm of armor still doesn't protect you, gives you just slight chance of bouncing. Both the StuG Ausf F, the Marder and PzJ35 you need to treat as having zero armor in the first place. They're supposed to ambush, win by numbers, or just trade favorably in kills. If your PzJ35 all die but each take a ~50pts medium tank (like T-34/76 or Cromwell) with it you have an immense profit in trades point-wise. With StuG F, not so much, you spent more on StuG F than enemy did with T-34 or Cromwell, and with any stronger tank StuG F won't be able to slug out anyway.
