      Yeah I’m not replacing my pink Preamp with the new one (even though it sounds better lol) until they make a pink one 😂

    🤘👍🏿 Um, both. The OG for when you need it tight and the new one for when you need things a bit looser.

    Awesome playing and great comparison! 🔥Both pedals sounds amazing but if I had to pick one I’d take the standard benson preamp which I already have for versatility. But the GE would be a great addition to the board.

    Excellent demo. The German sounds like it's nice and saturated for that relaxed old-school sound. The good ol' Preamp has much more tight immediateness about it. Both are excellent and worth having.

    I’m going with the Germanium… maybe just cuz it’s new….
    It does seem like it is more dynamic, and I like that it can get that glassy germanium arpeggio sound all the way to faux-bender fuzz!!

      In this case, the FET pill or the Germanium one, haha

    How would you compare the benson preamp with the origin 61 deluxe?

  • @BrySquatch
    @BrySquatch 3 месяца назад

    Great comparison and way to illustrate the differences. Very helpful. Both sound killer, but yeah a bit different. Ge sounds a bit warmer and more vintage sounding. Original is a little more modern and snappy.

      @@JayLeonardJ something I didn’t mention, that germanium sounded great but was wondering how it would actually sound in a mix at certain settings. Probably really lost. With your experience, might be worth mentioning these sorts of things in your reviews! Would be valuable to know

  • @razlahbb
    @razlahbb 6 месяцев назад +2

    if youre gonna do a direct comparison which is what we want to hear, at least have the same settings on both pedals

    • @aaronwibr
      @aaronwibr 6 месяцев назад +1

      But why tho???? They are completely different pedals. Direct comparisons between Klons and Klone makes more since and that's only if the Klone was made point for point the same. Switching the diodes in the klone would make matching knobs completely pointless.

    • @JayLeonardJ
      @JayLeonardJ  5 месяцев назад +8

      I was thinking about doing that but I definitely doesn't do justice to either pedal and will unfairly make one sound uglier in comparison. Instead, I decided to keep them in the spots where I feel they shine their best at, so you can hear exactly what they are bringing to the table.

      Things change as we grow older. That is, if we are even lucky to grow old. Despite that, there is no need to point things out so bluntly, as we might react to change with insecurity and fragility. The new look is quite badass.
