My channel blew up 2 months ago to 158k subscribers, til this day im still in shock and some people even recognize me on the streets, keep on grinding your time will come!
Making videos takes a lot of work and mostly time. It's not easy to be successful and the financial return is minimal for the amount of time spent but rewarding helping people fix cars, in my case. Congrat's Robert on 20K subscribers! -Glen
Excellent stuff. I am starting my channel and found this content of tremendous value. Thanks so much for posting. I'm very inspired to pursue this passion. Best wishes from Australia.
Corvettes 918 Thanks Chuck 👍🏼 I remember being a new kid on the block with so many questions. It's hard to answer everything, but I wanted to touch on some of the basics. Hopefully it helps out some people on the fence about getting started on YT.
I just wanted to say thanks for the video! It's one of the most informative videos on RUclips production I've seen anywhere. I've entertained the idea of shooting a few videos here and there but never actually done it, you may have just given me the little shove I needed. I already have over half that equipment simply for my photography hobby, so stepping over into the world of cinematography isn't that far of a leap. Hopefully everyone enjoys the progression of my new Lotus Evora S as much as I will filming it!
Solid tips. Thank you for sharing. Trying to build my channel and it’s been a pretty slow struggle. Like you I have a full time job that keeps me from putting as much time into it as I’d like. Thank you for the upload.
Congrats on 20k. Really like the channel and i have noticed the better quality that you work so hard to give your viewers. Keep doing what ya do. Thanks for all the hard work.
You're amazing and honest and kind dude. I'll be starting my channel after a few months after I make up some plans for myself and I just wanted to say that I got extra motivation from this video! Thanks man!
A buddy and I will be starting a car repair/customising/salvage yard/car show type channel. We haven't settled on a name yet, but when we do, I'll post it. We are starting with a Samsung Rugby pro cellphone camera, an old GoPro, and a generic action camera. We already have some content of repairs, a local town sponsored street race day, and some video of my first project, 1963 Ford Falcon. Your vid was greatand did inspire me to get on some editing. Thanks.
Showed up in my recommended and I must say I am not disappointed. I have a canon g7x with the same gimbal and a parrot drone and a gopro. And now that I saw this I am gonna purchase a slider. Good work my dude🙏
Just found your channel and these tips were exactly what I have been looking for to help my channel grow. Thanks. Will definitely watch some more of your channel.
This video has not done that well for you (in terms of views) but I wanted you to know I appreciate that you put this together. I am trying to up my game and this had some very helpful info!!
Full Throttle Drive Thanks man 👍🏼 I was watching some of your videos the other day. Congrats on the new R8. Hopefully you'll still be getting a C8 when they come out 😏
Cars, Costs and Technology thanks so much!! And my next video is going to address that exact topic 😜 lol I just need to learn how you do some of your video footage and editing, you are getting great at it! I use premiere pro and my iPhone X. Just about to grab a real camera soon.
Nice 👍🏻 I'll look out for that upload. Check out the Sony mirrorless cameras when you're ready to buy. They're much less bulky than the DSLRs and have better autofocus.
Thanks for sharing! It really isnt a day job when you love cars. Love the cars in the video. I have a C6 i'm about to sell for the upcoming C8 and very excited.
Little late for a grats to 20k but! Started 8-10 months ago got to know that in my country its hard and very cold during winters to get good content or any content at all. But soon i have my garage and car detailing business going, and that will hopefully help me during bad months when there is no car shows and nice weather! I am going to buy a canon m50 and have my gopro hero 5 session as a camera on the car like you mention, and i hope that next summer i will meet more people and be able to reach my goals before 2020 ends. Grats again :)
Great informative video, appreciate that your content is very straightforward and not profanity laced. I always look forward to your corvette info. I currently have a '16 Z06 . Keep up the great work!
Even though the video is a year old, I happened to come across it by watching your new C8 videos... thanks for the info especially because my wife and I have been talking about creating car and motorcycle content (even though so many people do it already), but again, thanks!
Thanks for sharing... I've been working really hard to grow my channel.... It is definitely tougher than I imagined.. Just over 800 subs in the last year and a half... At this point I'm over the major hurdles like equipment, editing, and tagging... The more I learn the more I realize how little i know... Getting there slowly though....
Another great video, man! I have to say your love of Corvettes has only pushed me to get one soon! I have one more year of university and then hopefully I can get a nice career. I have been looking into starting a youtube channel, at least as a side income so thank you very much for this info. You have been a big inspiration to me if I can be honest lol and congratulations on 20k!! Hope you get much more!
This was very helpful. Thank you for showing this, I’ve really been thinking about getting a DSLR here lately because the GoPro just isn’t cutting it anymore honestly. And plus I haven’t had my car the last couple of months to record 😅 but the 2JZGTE IS300 will be back soon so I’m excited to get back to recording videos. Thanks for this!
Thanks man! I would also check out the Sony mirror-less cameras like my A6000. They're not as bulky as DSLR cameras and have more auto focus points for video recording. Thanks for watching!
Thanks a lot for making this video! I'm a total car nut who started a blog on Nissan Skylines just for fun and as a labor of love and got into car photography as a result. After seeing the huge improvement in my photos I decided to try my hand at videography now as well. I'm blessed to have a high-paying full time job that's allowed me to own the cars of my dreams and travel to different places other like-minded Nissan fans only dream about so I wanted to share that to fellow enthusiasts. Because of my job I really don't feel like I need to make a profit - and don't really want the extra time commitment it would bring - but some of my latest videos have been getting thousands of views so that's encouraged me to try to make more and get better at it. This video has been extremely helpful and inspirational in that regard! You've got a sub from me because of it. Now I just need to figure out how to get to that 1000 subscriber cutoff lol.
Just ran across your channel because of your Optima NCM video. This is a helpful video for sure. Trying to grow our small YT channel and having fun while doing it.
Thanks for sharing this info on your business and RUclips channel. I'm planning to start my own channel as well, focusing on cars and music. I'll be sure to share the handles once it's up and running. Keep up the great work 👍
Hey, I really liked your explanation how you do your videos! Great video and info! Also really nice cinematic shots - the little camera does an amazing job. Yes, I already have a sports car channel, doing it for about 10 years but not very successful only 2000 subs eventhough 400 videos.
As always Robert, the video quality and content is excellent! 👍🏼 The only item you missed as far as expense is concerned in having a channel is the increase in your electric bill to keep all the batteries charged for all the video equipment. LOL Congratulations on hitting 20k subscribers. It's been great to ride along with you thus far and am looking forward to see your continued progression in obtaining the next 20k. Save the Wave.
Thanks Peter! Lol that's a good point... I charge around 15 batteries before I go to film a review. I have spares for most of my equipment. Just out of curiosity, how's the iPad been for you? I was thinking about it the other day, because I'd like to do another giveaway sometime soon.
I loved the video bro, very informative and interesting, i’m interested in starting a RUclips channel. I don’t really know what about but I’m really thinking about car content/airplane content because I love cars, like maybe a pov driving video, I actually want to start a project car, and I’m working towards getting my pilots license.
Congrats with 20k ! I want to ask about stabilisator for phone, it is worth money? May be some alternatives for cheapest? I have small YT channel and I want to improve more because now I am sitting at one spot :(
Thank you! In my opinion they are absolutely worth it. Check the Osmo Mobile 2 link in my description. For $140 you can take your content to another level. They were more expensive back when I bought mine ($300) but I've made thousands of dollars off the tool alone.
Good video man! I’ve been thinking about starting a channel but I never have good ideas for videos haha, I’m always just working. I have red C7 as well, love it. Keep it up, love the vids
Thanks man 👍🏻 Glad you like the videos. I've been swamped at work here recently, so I haven't been able to upload as often as I used to. So I can definitely relate. Give it a try something though. It can be a lot of fun once you figure things out.
Thanks for the advice! There were many useful tips i didn't already know and many we figured out the hard way already! We are just starting to see some real growth on our own channel
Hi congrats on 20k. Mine is about 15k froggy's garage and like you 90 % car stuff. On my 3rd Vette. I tend to feature diy repairs as my "differentiation". So my videos last for a long steady time as viewers do work on their cars. I am still at smartphone/tripod/lighting phase, I'm slow to adopt. Haha. Your quality is great. I don't really need it as good to show a guy how to do a brake job. Thanks for sharing revenues, mine show steady growth as well, ok for something I enjoy. Showing folks to to fix things. The thanks I get for helping folks save 100's or even 1000's of dollars feels good. :) I do have one question if you can take the time. What do you do re: misclassification resulting in limited/no advertising? I am seriously pizzed off that YT's robots/machine learning are flagging so many of my fix it videos. I have appealed for years literally but like talking to a pile of rocks. Sheesh. :)
That's awesome. I'll check your channel out 👍🏻 I'm not sure about the issue that you're having with YT though 🤔 I had a problem with getting demonetized a couple of months ago, but it seems to be fixed now. Are your videos sponsored? I know YT trys to stop conflicting ads on sponsored videos.
No not sponsered. I buy most tools myself. Sometimes some small company will give me a tool to use for a diy job and I mention them. But really no. The issue seems related to words in titles or tag words maybe. In the beginning I had problems with music copyright (I had a radio playing in the background). Some bot would scan videos for copyright music and flag my video. It was legal "called fair use" not commercialized, but did not seem to matter, again like talking to rocks. I have the radio off now, issue went away.
Good advice and explanations of what’s involved in making You Tube videos. My son has been talking about dong this for almost a year. I will recommend that he watch your video to help him get answers to some of the questions he had.
Thanks for the useful tips! I've been trying to source a donor car for a project that has been rattling around in my head for some time. While reaching out to the different "New Beetle" Convertible car culture for leads on a donor car, I've been including a sketch of what I want to build. I'm getting lots of encouragement and great suggestions, but without a exception, everyone wants me to share pics and videos of my build. Hence my interest in your great video and suggestions, purely for the fun of sharing!! Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you so much for the information. Would you mind following up with another video on how you go setup with You Tube as far as being able to start making money. What hoops you had to jump thru to get it going! Thank you for all the information!!
Great video and good input. I love your channel as it's no BS, no CLICK BAIT (god I hate click bait) just real info. I try and provide real info on my channel - and like you said - those video's where I'm answering a question that needed to be answered - I get good views. no need to put up misleading titles and such. I might have to try the adobe software though. the system I'm using is limiting. Take care!
Absolutely love this video, really appreciate you being open with your figures as we're a fairly new channel and its opened our eyes to what's possible. Like you we're doing this for the love of cars, and any income would just be to re-invest into the channel. Keep up the great channel :-)
Congrats on 20k...im almost at 600 hoping i can get to 1k soon. Im still using my smartphone for the video, but hoping if i get 1k so it can pay for my video equipment lol
Wonderful video mate. Honest and to the point...I also would like to start a channel on classic/ muscle cars but the problem is I don't know many people who own them....any advice how to look for content?
Thanks 👍🏻 I really appreciate the feedback. Your best bet would probably be starting out by filming at car shows until you make connections with owners who will let you film their classic cars privately.
Nice C7, and very informative content. I just started my channel talking about the Chevy Bolt EV and electric cars. Please let me know what you think and what could improve, thanks!
Hello Robert, thank you for the education and video in regard to starting a You Tube channel. Congratulations on your subscription base and I will be following you in the future. I maybe interested in having my own channel as a hobby in the future. Anxiously awaiting my new ZO6 in 6 weeks. Blue skies, Jg
Hey Robert congrats my friend, I definitely have been watching your channel for years and we have talked so much over the past 6 months. I don’t know if you follow my channel but what are some of the things you think I need to improve on or so better? I kinda feel like my video aren’t getting found
Thank you very much for this, I am about to start my youtube channel. It would be up by March. I would be review some of the super cars found in Nigeria.
I am a super car enthusiast, and I'm about to start my own content. Please what are the do's and don'ts in automotive content creation more especially during shoots?
Do you find doing videos done in parts/series are more enjoyable for viewers or doing just one long form video on a topic? I appreciate your channel very much.
Thanks again for helping the channel reach 20k! Let me know if I can help you with your channel 👍🏼
Cars, Costs and Technology
Cars, Costs and Technology love the channel man!!! The video was a great and for Informative. Your C7 Corvette looks good as well.
Thanks man!
Here's a question for ya, how do you start a channel without an expensive (relatively) car?
Cars shows or car spotting would be a good option. Or cover car news until you have access to make videos with the actual cars your interested in 👍🏻
My channel blew up 2 months ago to 158k subscribers, til this day im still in shock and some people even recognize me on the streets, keep on grinding your time will come!
My husband just started his automotive channel for his AMG called Accent On Cars. I am going to show him this video. Thank you so much.
What a kind and generous gesture to make this video... You are full of surprises, Grasshopper.
Congratulations Robert on 20k as always great content and very helpful to those wanting to get into doing RUclips videos. 👍🏻😎
Corvettes 918 Thanks Chuck 👍🏼 I remember being a new kid on the block with so many questions. It's hard to answer everything, but I wanted to touch on some of the basics. Hopefully it helps out some people on the fence about getting started on YT.
Best video we have watched in a long long time. Been needing a helping hand how to make our channel more visually pleasing! Many thanks :-)
I just wanted to say thanks for the video! It's one of the most informative videos on RUclips production I've seen anywhere. Great advice! I started my automotive how to channel a little over a year ago and just hit my 1000 last week. We are in a tough niche.
Congrats 👍🏻
Solid tips. Thank you for sharing. Trying to build my channel and it’s been a pretty slow struggle. Like you I have a full time job that keeps me from putting as much time into it as I’d like. Thank you for the upload.
Great tips and been watching for awhile but nothing can replace a great narrating voice you have as well! Good job.
Thanks!
Congrats on 20k. Really like the channel and i have noticed the better quality that you work so hard to give your viewers. Keep doing what ya do. Thanks for all the hard work.
Thanks Loyd! I really appreciate the feedback 👍🏻

Of all the videos ive watched about starting an automotive youtube channel, this video of yours made me inspired to pursue my chanel about cars
Thanks for sharing! It really isnt a day job when you love cars. Love the cars in the video. I have a C6 i'm about to sell for the upcoming C8 and very excited.

I usually dont comment on videos but I respect this video so much..
Thank you!
Thanks man. Just what I was looking for.
Great informative video, appreciate that your content is very straightforward and not profanity laced. I always look forward to your corvette info. I currently have a '16 Z06 . Keep up the great work!
Thanks Bobby! I really appreciate the feedback.
Wow we need a part 2, thank you.
Congratulations! You always have great content, and I hope you continue to grow your channel.
Thanks Steve! I really appreciate that 👍🏻
Even though the video is a year old, I happened to come across it by watching your new C8 videos... thanks for the info especially because my wife and I have been talking about creating car and motorcycle content (even though so many people do it already), but again, thanks!
Thanks for the awesome information bro. Just started my channel not too long ago. Just subscribed to your channel! 👍
here at 40k Keep on growing appreciate the info🙏🏽
Thanks Jay!
Thank you so much I’ve been debating starting a channel with my Ecoboost Mustang for a bit and all this info and what you do has really inspired me
Thanks for sharing... I've been working really hard to grow my channel.... It is definitely tougher than I imagined.. Just over 800 subs in the last year and a half... At this point I'm over the major hurdles like equipment, editing, and tagging... The more I learn the more I realize how little i know... Getting there slowly though....
Great video man. Started 8 months ago and having more fun with it now than in the beginning. Keep up the good content 👍
YellowVette04 Thanks man! I'll check out your channel 👍🏻
Thanks Victor! I really appreciate that 👍🏻
This was very helpful.
Great video mate. Thank you. Will definitely use some of those tips👍🏿
Awesome tips.... really helpful.... I’m looking to start my channel early next year! Congratulations on 20k subscribers!
Congrats on 20k!!!!!!
Thank you!
Just ran across your channel because of your Optima NCM video. This is a helpful video for sure. Trying to grow our small YT channel and having fun while doing it.
Thanks! Glad you found it helpful 👍🏻
Congrats! Very informative.
Thanks for the feedback 👍🏻 I hope it helps out a little with your channel!
Congrats on 20K Robert, you’ve definitely earned it and I hope to see your channel grow even more!!
Thanks man!
I’m actually about to start reviewing cars next week for a few dealerships I plan to put out 2-4 videos out each week starting out
Great video, really appreciate the tips
The best info I’ve ever seen thank u
I loved the video bro, very informative and interesting, i’m interested in starting a RUclips channel. I don’t really know what about but I’m really thinking about car content/airplane content because I love cars, like maybe a pov driving video, I actually want to start a project car, and I’m working towards getting my pilots license.
I think a great video idea would be what you use for detailing your C7, it always looks amazing and would love to see what you use!
Thank you! Torch Red is such an easy color to maintain 👌🏼
Yes sir I just started one and my channel is I B GOOD and I just did a walk around a 2019 bmw x7 and your information is really helpful
Congrats with 20k ! I want to ask about stabilisator for phone, it is worth money? May be some alternatives for cheapest? I have small YT channel and I want to improve more because now I am sitting at one spot :(

Thanks 👍🏻 Glad you found the video helpful.
Im trying to get where you are and I'm just soaking In the information hopefully one day we can work together. Thanks for the content.

Awesome video and great equipment for starting up a channel!

I do have one question if you can take the time. What do you do re: misclassification resulting in limited/no advertising? I am seriously pizzed off that YT's robots/machine learning are flagging so many of my fix it videos. I have appealed for years literally but like talking to a pile of rocks. Sheesh.

Very cool of you to offer all this info.
Thanks Matt 👍🏻 I've had a lot questions about this type of stuff recently, so I figured now would be a great time to discuss it while celebrating 20k
Good advice and explanations of what’s involved in making You Tube videos. My son has been talking about dong this for almost a year. I will recommend that he watch your video to help him get answers to some of the questions he had.
Congratulations on 20k
Thank you!
Great video and content, plz more like this. Thanks
thanks for the help im trying to build my youtube channel and its hard to find good videos to help out
Thanks for the useful tips! I've been trying to source a donor car for a project that has been rattling around in my head for some time. While reaching out to the different "New Beetle" Convertible car culture for leads on a donor car, I've been including a sketch of what I want to build. Its cool that as I watch this you have 39.9K subs, about to double it!
amazing video, Im a car enthusiast and if I can get paid to vlog and do what I love, thank you for explaining in good detail ✅
Good stuff, man! Just starting my cat channel, and am getting the most out of my smartphone I can. Thanks so much for the info and inspiration!
Thank you!
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Thank you so much for the information.
Would you mind following up with another video on how you go setup with You Tube as far as being able to start making money. What hoops you had to jump thru to get it going!
Thank you for all the information!!
Thanks Scott 👍🏻 I really appreciate the feedback. Do you mean like actually starting the RUclips channel?
Cars, Costs and Technology actually starting the channel and also what you had to do and who to talk to.
Take care!
Amazing video, I now have a good idea what I need to look for in the future. Thanks for the advice.
Absolutely love this video, really appreciate you being open with your figures as we're a fairly new channel and its opened our eyes to what's possible. Like you we're doing this for the love of cars, and any income would just be to re-invest into the channel. Keep up the great channel :-)
Thanks for the feedback 👍🏻 Good luck with your channel!
an editing video would be awesome!
Congrats on 20k...im almost at 600 hoping i can get to 1k soon. Im still using my smartphone for the video, but hoping if i get 1k so it can pay for my video equipment lol
You'll get there man 👍🏻 Smartphone works great. That was my primary camera until around 15k subscribers.
Thank you for the great videos I have really enjoyed them congrats👍👍
Wonderful video mate. Honest and to the point...I also would like to start a channel on classic/ muscle cars but the problem is I don't know many people who own them....any advice how to look for content?
Thanks 👍🏻 I really appreciate the feedback. Your best bet would probably be starting out by filming at car shows until you make connections with owners who will let you film their classic cars privately.
Outstanding, thank you!
Nice C7, and very informative content. I just started my channel talking about the Chevy Bolt EV and electric cars. Please let me know what you think and what could improve, thanks!
Great video! Really well done.
Thank you!

I kinda feel like my video aren’t getting found
Thanks man 👍🏻 I think your channel is actually growing pretty quickly. Just keep having fun with your car and friends and the growth won't stop!
I Can’t Wait To Start 😎
Thank you very much for this, I am about to start my youtube channel. It would be up by March. I would be review some of the super cars found in Nigeria.
Thank you. Good luck with your channel.
Great video, just subscribed.
Thank you 👍🏻
