Very beautifull to watch and inspiring to watch - a very beautifull and meditative painting process and beautifull music
But it would have been helpfull with a short written text on materiels used e.g. was it a
Wood panel, how many layers of gesso, how to make the basic drawing, first layer of underpainting, layering of colors and how to put on the gold ( pigments, colors, egg yolk, water and/ or oil ) finishing fernissage????

Yes, that is an excellent idea! This icon is being done on the prepared icon board - rabbit skin glue, linen, gesso, etc... that has been purchased from his source in Europe. The basic drawing was done in pencil, and each layer is egg tempera. The gold in this is an oil gilding method with a tool to make the halo, and we finished with a basic varnish, though some finish this sort of thing with an olifa finish. If you search Daneil Neculae on Facebook, he teaches online courses that tell all of the details, though if you can manage to get to an in person course it is well worth the effort!

Pray for me. Im going to paint an icon tonight for somebody as a xmas gift. I got the wood, gold leaf and variety of round brushes. Im using acrylic though. I couldn't find egg tempera close to me.

really awsome! I would like to know the mixture of colours you use for the face skin colour and the lightings on the face!! I would appreciate if you tell me! I am a beginer!

Apparently I missed this! The base coat of the skin is primarily ochre, with just enough black to make it olive-ish and just enough red to not turn into a chocolate color. That is how it was described to me... The layers on top are ochre, then reds, then mixes with more white and less ochre as we get up to the last nearly completely white high light. Find more information from Daniel Neculae on Facebook - he has an online iconography class that is simply wonderful.

Eu nu inteleg de ce romanii se ascund prin descrieri si titluri in engleza.
