I lost interest in the base game when I saw it had time limits on battles. As a person, I absolutely HATE being rushed, and time limits in games make me feel anxious.
@@-Monad-i generally feel the same, but on easier levels time limit on xcom2 really was not that bad. Not to mention not every mission had time limits. never really had issue finishing those types of missions in xcom2.
SAME. No timers. Timers are for cooking. Cooking is a chore for me. Socrates says, therefore timers are a chore for me. Entertainment is the opposite of chores.
I played the first game and felt like it was a Fire Emblem T Three Houses love letter with how familiar the gameplay and English Dub cast were. I hope this game is just as good! I really wanted the first game to show Balastar and Klara's POV of the events of the first game
As per your recommendation, I got the first one and loved it. When I saw they had announced "Veil of the Witch" I immediately Wishlist it. I saw the invitation to join the beta but I don't have time for it. I didn't realize it was a roguelike because I loved the formula for the first game and I was hoping for the same albeit a deeper system of the first like how you previewed the poison mechanic. I am not really a fan of roguelikes because I find the system to be just an artificial attempt to extend the replay value instead of adding more missions, systems, companions, character-building. side quests, or a more developed storyline. I guess we will see, I will most likely still get it depending on how the final review goes. I do feel like they could have used the same TBC system as the first and just incorporated the new mechanics and focus on an expansive narrative and visuals and that would have been golden.
I got in the test yesterday, played one round got to the end and couldn't go further bc I got rekt. I hate roguelikes, I will be buying this as soon as they announce a release date though. I want this studio to succeed. I have yet to finish lost eidolons. I wish they had more exposure
I appreciate that battles are relatively quick compared to the last game. On the other hand, the environment is still overwhelmingly dull. Maybe other zones will look more interesting though.
@@omarkhan9888 tbf, i played under 2 hours. It starts great, and the game introduces you to combat quickly. I thought the combat was fun (tho i did experience a bug with weapon swap, but its beta, so) After that, you get some game intro dialogue that is fairly lengthy, then some text card dialogue with some NPCs and then each of your companions. After 20ish mins of reading, i just started skipping scenes. (If you're into lots of story dialogue and convos maybe you'd like that amount of reading) You get introduced to your main base, but there isnt anything to do there at first, and you venture off down a path where you select which route you want to take with limited info. Getting to that first "real" fight took an hour, and it was a 2v8 scenario that i don't see how you could win with lvl 1 chars. I assumed it was one of those scripted loss things, but apparently not. Thats where i took a break. Ill give it another go later
Man I am just super bored of Roguelikes. Real progress is so much more interesting to me than starting over...over and over and over. It just feels like a crutch of design to me. "We have to make 1/5 of the game if that 1/5 is ridiculously hard and they have to play it 20 times!"
How about Our Adventurer Guild? It's not quite your niche, but it seems to be a very fine, not so small game. The graphics are sometimes not the most important thing. Anyway, thanks for all the good videos on your channel.
Where are the people getting that the game has AI art? I haven't played the demo but from the video the art doesn't look like it's AI generated. I could be wrong I am not an AI art expert nor do I spend time on that stuff.

A Roguelike ! Wow..that's something you don't see everyday....
It's groundbreaking!
Just need that roguelike soulslike, but we're not advanced and innovative enough yet.
@@AyarARJ whoa that's some forward thinking. What's next? A rogue-like deck-builder Souls-like with procedural generation?!? No way

They are making a second game, that is not a roguelike, if that is your cup of tea.

Thanks for the video. It will be interesting if they improve upon their formula. Onward to 400k. All glory to the algorithm.
Did they remove the battle cutscene?? 😥
Yeah I wish they didn't, and if they did, hope they'll put it back before release.
It was one of the things I liked most about the first LE

It looks like a cool little game
Just played the closed beta invite this morning. Love the combat. Pacing is, rough
I have the first game and have wish listed this one. What makes the pacing rough? Slow start, leveling up characters etc.

Looks cool
Im curious, are all of the pictures AI?
The developer says they are not.
The art is not AI generated - we do have an art team in Korea 😄
Sort of unrelated to the video, but have you played fear and hunger?
Not as of yet
