as an outsider to the dev world, but a fan of roguelites and turnbased tactics games, i feel like balancing upgrades/boons is something that would be challenging with a single character. In this case it looks like youre having to do this for an entire party. Are there any unique challenges to balancing progression across a full party like this compared to a single character game?
@@brianchassee We definitely spent lots of hours trying to balance them. Overall, we tried to balance by creating categorized upgrades based on equipment each character has. Hope you can try them out in the game and share your thoughts. We did have multiple tests including Steam Next Fest demo tests to ensure overall progression is well balanced. Of course, we are doing Early Access to ensure these are all in place. The game is pretty much feature complete and the reason behind us doing Early Access is ensuring the game balance and the difficulty level is all well balanced prior to the official release.
I played the first game and thought it was okay. I'm intrigued by this one, but I feel let down by a lot of roguelikes. I think I'll wait until it gets a full release. Thanks for the preview.
As someone who has beat a few FE games (got 3 out of 4 paths done in 3 houses) and has enjoyed the first Lost Eidolons game, once we get a few content updates for Veil of the Witch I will see about jumping abord this ship
Looks like something worth keeping an eye on. That said won't get it till more work put in. Darkest dungeon is a masterpiece but played so much of that (pre-hellion release) earlydoors that it killed the release hype a tiny bit.
Ah, so glad I watched this, because this was on my wishlist. I really enjoyed the first game, but I do not like roguelikes at all. I hate having to start over and over. Just not my jam. Hopefully, one day the devs do another Eidolons like the first and just improve upon it. Thanks for saving me some money. Cheers!
Looks great so far. I bought the early release after waiting for the few weeks I saw it was coming. All in for turn based and excited for the voice acting when the full release happens.
Played lost Eidolons. It was a really good game. Since i don't really like early access ima wait and see how this develops def gonna be wishlisted and bought on full release
I played the Demo. I'm conflicted on it cause I enjoyed the combat but didnt care for the roguelike part. Which is like half the game. The current price is great ($20 and $16 on sale)! I have a long list of games to play so maybe I will pick it up after I get through that.
I bought the first game, but quickly grew bored of it and moved on to other games. As someone who loves Fire Emblem and really enjoyed Darkest Dungeon, here are a few of my personal likes and dislikes based on first impressions of my limited knowledge of the game: Likes: - if I’m understanding this correctly, the randomly generated paths for each mission/chapter (a la the dungeons in Darkest Dungeon) is an interesting idea. - I like the idea of a smaller cast of playable characters because each character can feel more vital to the main story and has a better chance to show character growth than a huge cast like in Fire Emblem. - I like the art style direction, even if the characters don’t stand out individually like in Fire Emblem. Dislikes: - Not a fan of characters’ levels/skills resetting each mission. One of the best parts of Fire Emblem for me is the sense of character progression. I really hope they scrap the roguelike idea for a more traditional progression system. - I realize that they’re going for a more realistic look, but I wish the characters looked a little more diverse. Not their race, gender, etc., but their clothes/armor, although cool looking, don’t really stand out. Maybe add some more color to armor to make the characters more memorable/unique. These are just my personal preferences. Anytime I see something resembling Fire Emblem on PC, I’m always interested. Hope this game does well and that the developers are open to fan feedback.
I love tactical turn-based strategy games. But I despise roguelikes. Wasting the player's time should not be confused with challenge. Usually in my experience cheap-minded game developers try to sell half-baked poorly-balanced content-lacking games (with some exceptions of course) by marketing them as roguelikes, as many in the gaming community automatically praise them for internet brownie points.
Exactly the same. So many indie games now have “rogue lite” mechanics in order to pad out the game time. I love SRPGs but this is a hard pass personally
God forbid some players like what you don't like, but I guess that automatically means they're after "internet brownie points" , since they're not on your side. Pathetic, lol.
The hit, combat info, looks too "gamey" or something, kinda of ... For kids? More like a cellphone game than a PC game than anything and this by itself is a big turn off for me, even if I still gonna keep on steam wishlist. I may check later and see how it is going.

I just removed it from my wishlist after I saw that it is now roguelite. I hate that. What's wrong with regular saves? Rogue mechanics just artificially stretch the game duration without making it more fun, instead it increases the grind and frustration.

TAKE MY MONEY!!!
At release, because I can’t stand early access anymore.
I don’t have any questions but I’m interested in your game, I will be checking it out tonight when I get home!
Any chance of coming to consoles?

I'm not usually into roguelikes, but for the price, I'll give it a go.
Thanks and hope you like it!
This looks and sounds dope. Hesitant on ea right now but i already have this on my wishlist.
Never heard of this game, looks right up my alley, will check.

For full release, we are going to release the game on Switch, PS5 and Xbox!
@@ODS_Jungsooawesome! Game looks cool!
@@ODS_Jungsoo Good news! It's definitely on my radar for the PS5. Best wishes!
Played the demo and had a lot of fun. Might get it when it fully releases
Love tactical with free will to build. The game sounds dope

Do you think you guys will cover Metaphor: refantazio?
cool concept. i am looking forward to getting the switch version.
Is it like in Darkest Dungeon, where you can exit the dungeon before facing the boss? Or do you have to face the boss and die to exit?
cool concept. I'll keep an eye on it

I have the first game. What is the difference?
it's more combat focused vs. the first one. also we added roguelite elements with smaller squad for more strategic / intensive combat experience.
I know someone is thinking about mentioning that other. Don't, its unnecessary.
I'm in!
Tactical comment for algoritm
feels like a mobile game

Better than veilguard
First!
The first game was so bad.
Roguelike = skip
Looks like a lame gatcha game similar to Dragon Heir
