    Hi I have done the mod as you have detailed.
    I have noticed that in pinpointer mode the outer coil does not work meaning I have reduced the size of the coil from 8.5” to 5”when in pinpoint mode, out of pinpoint it functions as a 8.5” coil.
    This is a slow response detector and I have tendency to sweep to quickly and find that by the time I get a signal in normal mode I can be well past the target, in pinpoint mode I can usually find the target easily identify the spot , flick the switch to see what it is and decide if to dig.
    In pinpoint mode I get less false signals
    It is a bit like using a bounty hunter tk4 with a 4” coil
    I would recommend this mod.
    Looking at RUclips I find a number of circuit mods and pot adjustments have also been done sadly all in foreign languages, I would like to try adjusting the pots to see if any improvements can be made, has any been done in English?
    Thanks Bg

      Lol, that's great to hear. You didn't think of the part that now he is going to find more and you will be the one digging them all up :) Still a great way to spend time with your son. Wish I would have had my detectors when my daughter was growing up. You can bet she would have been out there with me detecting.
      Have fun and Good Luck and Happy Hunting to you and your son on the next adventure :)

    My comment is 6 years late but... I bought one of these detectors. The recover rate in standard mode is so slow it's useless. Pinpoint mode works - for a few seconds, but mine is unstable and eventually the tone comes on ALL the time after a few seconds if the button is held down. Other than making all the 4 internal pots external with knobs, this thing is useless. I ended up throwing his thing in the cupboard and buying a minelab, which actually works. Some cheapies might be okay, but not this one. I rate it 1 out of 10.

    muy buen video, tengo uno de esos y no sabia como dejar activado el pinpointer en forma permanente, ya que da muchas señales falsas al no tener presionado el PP, gracias me sirvio mucho.

      De nada mi amigo. Alegro que te gustara el video

      has visto un video en donde tambien arreglan un md 3010, pero le mueven las resistencias R3 y R4, para que sirve ese ajuste?

    • @diggingdeeper8063
      @diggingdeeper8063  7 лет назад

      Ahh que es ajustar el pinpointer si empieza a hacer ruido cuando se sostiene la bobina de detecor en el aire sin objetivo ....
      Utilice ese video si tiene el mismo problema ,,, Pero no lo haga si el detector está funcionando bien en el modo puntual ..: 0)

      Digging Deeper ahhh yo pense que era para darle mas sensibilidad y ya lo hice, aunque no he notado que le haya pasado nada malo, gracias otra vez.

    hello I'm new to this and I was just wondering wot is the difference between pressing the button on the detector than to wot u have pit on I'm a little confused

    • @diggingdeeper8063
      @diggingdeeper8063  7 лет назад

      hi there,,, the difference is that it is in pinpoint mode all the time when you turn the switch... and then it finds things,,, all metal mode like ..

    • @byson8653
      @byson8653 7 лет назад +1

      Digging Deeper ok thanks for the reply but does the button not do the same thing or is it mor to make sure it's in pin point for the kid I'm just new to this and am quite interested

    • @diggingdeeper8063
      @diggingdeeper8063  7 лет назад

      no problem friend and yes it for the kid to be able to locate things easier then making fake signals with the detector because he hits the ground some time with it,,, actually if his hands just could keep the pinpoint button inside all the time while detecting, the result would be the same,,, its because when he swings the coil he hits the ground and the detectors things its a signal and the kid to,, but with the pinpointer down it will not make fake signals only bip when something is there :0)

      @byson8653 7 лет назад

      Digging Deeper thanks again for the reply I think I understand now I take it the pin pointer button on the detector is not a switch it can only be used wen held in or am I wrong I don't have one of those so I'm in sure about the functions but looks to be a good little detector for the price for some fun with the kids and with the mod u have made makes it much better by the sounds of it I think I might give it a go and get one of those thanks again
