My comment is 6 years late but... I bought one of these detectors. The recover rate in standard mode is so slow it's useless. Pinpoint mode works - for a few seconds, but mine is unstable and eventually the tone comes on ALL the time after a few seconds if the button is held down. Other than making all the 4 internal pots external with knobs, this thing is useless. I ended up throwing his thing in the cupboard and buying a minelab, which actually works. Some cheapies might be okay, but not this one. I rate it 1 out of 10.

Just found this video. Rolex does not issue new certificates ever! Unless you are the original purchaser. And then they still may not. They will provide all information on what they verified and any work they may have performed.And no jeweler is going to sand any Rolex. They may use what is known as a gold erasure then solution to verify the gold as being real and usually the purity. Then when they remove the band from the lugs on top and bottom it will give a serial number , registered design number and what the case is made of. Bracelets do also have serial numbers and metal purity markings. Rolex is very careful about verifying a watch as well. After the waiting period you can send it to Rolex themselves and they will verify if it's authentic. Serial number between the lugs as well as inside the case will be checked. Most Rolex watches have a sales record in place to protect the original purchasers. I own a few Rolex watches and most if not all purchasers would go out of their way to recover a Daytona . I know I would to get my Daytona back. I am also extremely surprised that Law Enforcement did not hold it and give you a claim ticket. They would find it very sketchy so there would be quite a bit of background done on the watch. Also the only way to be absolute that it is a genuine Rolex is to go through a Certified Rolex center. Which is a good thing because in order to make sure it is real is to get all corresponding numbers off the movement. Afterwards they would need to pressure test the watch to make sure it is once again water tight. For your info: there were very good fakes on the market that did use solid gold cases and movements that look correct. But in fact when Rolex started getting some in they were verified as very good replica watches with serial numbers that did not match records. Rolex would simply just send a letter to you and they do not return the watch. I was told by a dealer one time they log the fakes then destroy them. So no ordinary jeweler can verify a Rolex. They also can not provide new stickers, hang tags, or official Rolex paperwork. If they say they can then my suggestion is to immediately take the watch to a verified Rolex service center or to someone certified that deals with Rolex. So I hope this helps others who may read this. I know this is a 3 year old upload so this topic has probably already been through its paces. If it is verified as real and no one has come forth to claim it then you are extremely lucky.

Just got one in today. Bought one off of the WISH site from China and mishipped it to my grandson. Told him to keep it and use it. He lives in Hawaii and has beaches to go and work. Ordered a second one and got it, but it didn't work. WISH is super great about giving money back and not even requiring a return. So I ordered a third one. I live in Virginia and people find all kinds of revolutionary and civil war remnants. This one is working and your video was about the best explaination I had found on operating it. No one explained the pip function. I look forward to trying it out. Unfortunately, the winter weather has hit this year and it's freezing outside. Glad to see some fairly good reviews on it and know I didn't waste my money.

Not to disagree with what you are saying here; but the size of a coil is only part of the equation. Other things that affect the ability of a detector to penetrate include Type of soil, moisture content of the soil, type of target in the ground, size of a target in the ground, how a target is in the ground, flat or on edge, battery strength, operator of the metal detector, headphones, and the ability of the operator to hear faint signals and the willingness of the operator to dig any target. It seems as if the old saying of bigger is better is not always 100% true. I use a concentric (Round) 950 coil most often, but also a 10 inch DD Coil, I also have a 12 inch coil that will not go as deep as my 950 coil. Maybe but maybe not size makes a difference?!?!? ;-)

Congrats on the 1570's and 1610 coins! WOW! We just don't find anything that old very often! Your lead weight might be from an old clock? With the age of the sites that you are on I would dig every target. There is no telling what items that you are walking over by ignoring iron targets. Most of my searching is for US Civil War relics; i.e. gun parts, canon shell frags, horse tack, etc. I also believe in doing what I can to clean up any search site of everything to assist the land owner and maybe keep their farm equipment from being damaged or having flat tires. I also return any hand tools that I find to the farmers. ;-)

Maybe work on you camera first, then fix your pin pointer.

The best way of finding your personal detectors depth is to find an area of land where you have zero, (nothing metal) then dig a sheer face and put artifacts/ coins/objects of different sizes horizontally at different depths sideways until you learn the signals for given mass and signal ratio. For example a small coin at say five inch depth would give a good read out but as you put that same coin at greater depth (on edge or flat) would give you a different signal and you may think it junk. If in doubt take off the first few inches of soil then check the reading you get, you will be surprised as sometimes what you may have thought was junk turns out to be a coin Just saying from experience :)

Hi I have done the mod as you have detailed. I have noticed that in pinpointer mode the outer coil does not work meaning I have reduced the size of the coil from 8.5” to 5”when in pinpoint mode, out of pinpoint it functions as a 8.5” coil. This is a slow response detector and I have tendency to sweep to quickly and find that by the time I get a signal in normal mode I can be well past the target, in pinpoint mode I can usually find the target easily identify the spot , flick the switch to see what it is and decide if to dig. In pinpoint mode I get less false signals It is a bit like using a bounty hunter tk4 with a 4” coil I would recommend this mod. Looking at RUclips I find a number of circuit mods and pot adjustments have also been done sadly all in foreign languages, I would like to try adjusting the pots to see if any improvements can be made, has any been done in English?
