The ultimate Soup recipe
Ingredients List
--------
1kg goat meat
10 cups water
2 cups pumpkin (or 1 large slice)
6 sprigs thyme
2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1/2 white onion
3 garlic cloves
1 piece white yam or potato
1 medium carrot
5 balls frozen spinach or two handfuls fresh Spinach (put as much as you like)
1 scotch bonnet pepper
2 cups plain flour + pinch of salt + 1/2 tsp mixed herbs + 1/4 cup water- add water gradually (for dumplings)
1 handful macaroni of choice (optional)
1 tbsp all purpose seasoning or soup mix
Always taste and adjust seasonings as my recipe acts only as a guide. Individual tastebuds are different and substitutions can be made throughou

I love adding spinach, corn, yam, potatoes or plantain to my soup, it really adds depth x❤️

I know you are definitely from the Caribbean by the way you wash your meat with the lemon. This look like a pot of good old Bajan soup, the only exception being is we make our dumplings slightly different and they are always round. Great job!

This soup could be made many different ways by adding different things. This is why I love soups. I would have used 2 different meats & made 2 different soups. I would have used chicken for the other 1/2. You could get so creative with these soups. It's amazing & good for the body, mind & soul. ❤

This is exactly how my nanny makes it . Instead she used canned smooth pumpkin. No yam - sweet potato and a few regular potato. I must make this thank u ☺️

Caribbean food are the best 🌴🙏🌴very yummy.. thanks for the recipe... suggestions you also can grind some green plantain and do it like you do your dumplings balls. just plantain and when the soups are almost done you put the plantains balls in the soups this will give it a very good taste.. we Spanish called it Sancho we also do it with pig feet or pork ribs and beef.. but I will definitely going to make it... 🙏
