Refugees Should probably be assigned a common country where anyone can come and stay and UN should look after it. It should be properly maintained and all countries in the world should send money based on their financial situation. This way we can create a safe environment for refugees and take care of this problem as a whole. Asking independent countries to give up their sovereign right to rule themselves is not the right way to handle refugee crisis

There is a huge difference economic migrants and political refugees. I welcome any and all political refugees from any country into my country, the US. But most of these people are not persecuted for their religion or sexuality or even political point of view. They are simply fleeing unemployment and subsequent starvation. The end result is the same, admittedly, being death. But we here in the US simply cannot accommodate all of the economic migrants! From India alone, I have heard that up to 50% of the population would migrate to the US given the opportunity. The answer is of course birth control in countries such as African and Middle Eastern nations.
I imagine that I as a white American would be welcomed as a refugee into a country such as India, if I were to be politically or religiously persecuted. Thankfully, this has not been the case in the US, but the point is that the people of India are intelligent enough to know the difference between a political refugee and an economic migrant. With Pakistan and Bangladesh both suffering from an overpopulation crisis, the Indian government will be faced with a similar problem as is happening in Europe and the US. And I also believe that the Indian people are kind enough to welcome someone from a country such as Burma or Russia. But these are both countries have a lot of economic migrants as well as genuine political refugees. A system should be set up in the country of India to establish the difference between economic migrants and genuine political refugees. And dodging the draft is NOT a political refugee! They may genuinely fear losing their life in combat, but they will still be fed and allowed to practice their religion to the point that it doesn't interfere with their military duties. An example is the US Army provides chaplains for Christian soldiers to worship, but they cannot have every Sunday off to go to church. The case of Sikh soldiers being allowed to grow facial hair is currently under review in the court system here in the US. I have served alongside Sikh soldiers in the US Army, but they understood the reasoning behind shaving. A gas mask simply cannot fit If one has a beard. But as usual, I digress in my comments. The point is that the people of India are genuinely good people whom we should allow to immigrate to the US in larger #'s.

Corruption is the root cause of this Refugee crisis. Although having rich natural resources and hard working population, Corrupt governments can erode it all. India would have ended up like this if Congress continued. India was almost considered as one of Fragile five nations. Since 2014 we have raised to a respectable economic stability, good governance, Military strengthening. Strongly heading towards 5 trillion economic might. A super power in the making. So, in England, a relatively tiny country we are supposed to take in the whole world? That's literally not possible. I was 19 in 1985 when "Live Aid" happened. I was horrified and cried and cried seeing all the problems in the third world. 37 years and trillions of dollars later why haven't countries developed to sustain themselves? Where has the money gone? I suggest that the corrupt governments and NGO's be sorted out. We should be "teaching a man to fish" not just "giving him a fish". My question is, why is wion highlighting this?. It's simple as it's not other countries problem that Nigeria or any other countries fault that these people don't have a better life. It's their own government fault of not finding ways to develop their own country because of selfish greed or for power. It's not that I don't sympathize for these people...I'm just angered seeing kids dying being brought by their parents and losing a life for no reason. Whilst smugglers exploit the idea that once they're in Europe etc they're promised some what a better life. Are you dreaming in Falaland??? Not every country is asking to receive people. And I mean the citizens. Some governments are pushing them in their own countries when in their countries the people do not even have what you are mentioning here or even less! Many people is jobless, can not pay for water and energy so they are suffering in the cold days, too many are sick after the preventive for the modern disease - with no visible exact perfect solution to become totally healthy again and no one is responsible for that - The rest of Health problems are dragging behind far from they should be, no help is being given to people and too many and everyday more are eating in public food providers and not necessarily an appropriate diet because food depends on private donations and what appears to ease hunger. And I am talking about the nationals and older refugees, imagine when those new arriving stop receiving help from governments what is going to happen. All will be affected just the same because things are getting worse instead of better. Open your eyes, world is not what you think it is. People should be helped in their own countries so that they do not need to emigrate, no one would leave their country or family, no one would separate from the loved ones just to risk God knows what in God knows where. No time for idealizations, poverty, hunger, suffering is right here since a long time ago, not appearing now. Was anything done before to prevent it? No. There you have it. This is in the hands of the decision makers of the world since always. Talk to them.

@ Stretching the Resources....this is what the West / North America resents so much. Canada is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, and yet we struggle with an increasing Homeless crisis / Housing shortage in nearly every province. Public Health Care resources are stretched to the point there are doctor who arent accepting new patients. While I distance myself from this comment, Euro - North Americans are very racist and dont want "Racialized" refugees of colour or non-Christian background----the only "good Refugee" is from the Ukraine seems to be the sentiment.
