Its a tough one because the highs and lows hit a whole other level as the distance increases...having enjoyed a great experience (despite the pain) during the Hardwolds 40 my 'want' to run further returned...I think a massive part of that though is getting a grasp on my nutrition as it went better in the Hardwolds 40
No worries, its what the channel is for and the VP12+ is an excellent pack, the best I've ever used by a country mile. Its the front storage options that makes it for me. And I think its very well priced considering the quality against over like for like packs.
Good video mate and some great tips. The ultra isn’t something that’s up my street but it’s definitely relevant information for my upcoming london marathon.
Thanks Sam, the time you’ll be looking to do London I reckon you can get away with some nutrition mishaps but the mixing hydration with fuel lesson is a big one I think
Great advice on the Tailwind, thank you. Thankfully, I found the same thing during one of my training runs, especially on hotter days. I've taken to also keeping a third soft flask with water in the outer area of my bag should I need it.
Yeh I get how the product can work for some people but I think I’ll be keeping hydration and fuel separate going forward. Hopefully you’re having a better experience with it now
I'm with you on the distance dilemma, I love to target ultras and try and finish them, but seem to enjoy a trail half more!
