This is a great Scottish reel that I learned from the playing of Aly Bain. He is one of the best fiddlers in the world and another of my biggest influences.
Hi, just wanted to say thank you. I'm an adult learner and have just spent a pleasant weekend learnnig this tune from you, really appreciate you taking the time to put it out there for us.
I sent a notated sheet of this tune to my cousin to play on piano. I guess her left hand can play "double stops" or harmonies. She appreciated I took the time to convert the mandolin tabs to standand notation. I told her I have many more "fiddle tunes" for her to mess with.
Your playing is amazing! I learned this song a few years ago and the basic melody is the same, but I play it with less ornaments and a few notes added in. It's funny had a tune can change over time like that.
Hazel D I’m glad you liked the tune! Everyone’s version is a little different but that’s what fiddlers do! I think I learned most of this from Aly Bain.

Great tutorial thanks. Having fun trying to play the tune. Makes it so much easier broken down and slower.
