    I appreciated the help that day. It was the trial run putting cows through the new chute. I learned a lot about what worked and what didn’t work that day.

      Why are you giving vaccines? They are poison! (If you don’t know this, look into the truth about vaccines, though it is buried so scroll past the first few pages.)
      I’m wondering if you are forced? I don’t want to eat vaccinated meat ever and I refuse to vaccinate my own animals, though I’m expecting to be threatened and/or forced at some point.

    • @ryanharrington6497
      @ryanharrington6497 Год назад

      Not forced, just treating them for worms, and a pour over for flies. I respect your decision not to vaccinate. I wish you and your animals well.

      @@ryanharrington6497 Oh I see. I heard “giving them their shots” and I assumed vaccines. I apologize. These are scary times we are living in, and I over reacted. Thanks for the response.

    How could you not be proud to have a kid like Frankie ! She's in there watching, trying, and doing. I'll bet 95 % of her contemporaries would be happy to sit on their ever widening butts and surf the inter-tubes and blah blah on their devices. Mike, you are a lucky man to have a kid like her !! I don't think any of my friends kids could even start a lawn mower to save their lives, never mind run a tractor, build a fence or manage the moo's. I salute you and Syd, Sir !
    Now, send here up her to the great white north when the snow starts and we will teach her to run a plow, stack cordwood, bake bread, and thaw a septic line when it hits -35 below !

    helping my dad with his cows, my brother had the head catcher handle that clamped or opened. I am a year older and I was in the chute pushing a 1,000 cow. If he tried to close it too soon, the cow would lock all four feet straight out and Stop! I cannot push a big cow with my shoulder and tail twist so we had to just wait and they will forget and then go on. Dang dumb cows!

    • @ryanharrington6497

      I have definitely had some wild cows in the past, just like any other animal they all have their own personality. Some just come out hyper or more aggressive, but the more you are around them the more calm and gentle they become. The larger your heard the harder it is to be around all of them. I’m around these few cows most everyday so they are not upset about me messing with them. I would say most of the time if you have a cow that is not gentle it is mostly because they are scared or not used to being around humans.

    I actually miss working cattle minus the castrating part. The cutting or banding jobs were never really my cup of tea. Branding, tagging, giving shots, or working the herd was always the easiest part.
