    Where is this instrument from?

Originally a Greek instrument, the bouzouki is now exceptionally prominent in traditional Irish music. Notable players Donal Lunny and Andy Irvine of neo- trad group Planxty incorporated the instrument in the early 1970s and there has been a growing popularity around it ever since!

The greek bouzouki one bass sring and one high string, on tbe lower stri gs tbat producex that special Greek bouzouki sounc, tbe Irish bouzouki just has 4 pairs of the same strings, so it has nothing to do with the body, the wood used or the shape.
