Rob, these two chord substitution lessons have opened so many doors for me. A straight forward, easy to understand approach. Thank you very much for posting these. This song brings back fond memories of my childhood.
Learning chord choices and variations using a classic song, makes for a valuable, classic lesson. Thank you for the insight you have given me into how to further my music vocabulary. A lesson that should not be missed. Additional thanks for the chord diagrams.
When you stroke the guitar, it sounds very sweet. When you mistreat her, beat her up, it sounds ugly. What a pleasant sound that of your guitar... Greetings from El Salvador...
Amazing lesson and theory ! 3:43 on threw me but your transposing to C then working the progression in another key. Same progression different key Should be able too means the chords are moveable and you gotta know the inversions of each chord all over the neck. Tada ive got mountains of work to do there. amazing lesson.. If I get rich im gonna bother you with money....If that light bulb goes off in my head someday Ill see these things in my head for now I just monkey see monkey do then write the scales and degrees out to see 1 4 5 I gather one could play this through the circle of 5ths and transpose to every key also. Just to know ten thousand chords lol
PLEASE!!!! Next time just teach “This chord then this chord then this chord then this chord”........not “This chord then, well some might do this chord but bla bla bla and u could try this chord or that chord but then this chord, but let’s go back to this chord”.........The only time I understood your lesson was every once in a while you would finally just simply play “This chord then this chord then this chord then this chord (all in order)”. Less is more my friend........you were all over the place. Thanks for the lesson though
I am not trying to educate the general public, Dan. This lesson as many you might find here are covering the information I covered in detail at my workshop at Elderly Instruments. It is for my students. I left it available to everyone who might want to use the information as a curtesy, but I have had so many comments like this, I have stopped doing it. I don't have time to custom tailor free lessons for every level of student. I teach intermediate to advanced guitarists and these lessons are for them and anyone else who can use them. Sorry.
Well, Rob there is always rusty bolts to every bridge. This one is gettin an easy ride on music. It's hard to find a music master like you. God's bless.
