    My grandmother, born in 1920, had her own Model T…similar to your model….when she was young….She took lots of pictures of her in it, and her trips around the Northwest states. She drove it everywhere…I had no idea it was so tricky to drive….I admire her even more💗💕

      Love those stories about early driving. One of my favorites was my Dad's description of dragging a New Model T down the Bow River Falls in Banff Alberta in the 1920s for a scene in a Hollywood movie.

    Really liking this channel. Came here from CWM which is great also. I could listen to Jim explain technical stuff all day. One small suggestion. The audio is a bit echoey. Maybe some personal microphones instead of the one on the camera. 100 years from now someone will be digging around and say "Oh, here is a 100 year old RUclips video. Remember that?" Lol.. BTW why is that guys underwear size different from his pant size?

  • @dennissmith5037
    @dennissmith5037 2 года назад +1

    There is a picture of my Grandmother holding my Father as a baby standing behind a Model T. My dad wore a size 8 shoe. Maybe everyone born in the 1920 had small feet. I have heard rumors that Big Foot really wears a size 10 D.
    The Model T would be fun, but in my part of the world, if you happen to drive into the wrong neighborhoods (especially at night), the T wouldn't give you enough escape power to get out of trouble. I really like the garage. I have subscribed.

      @@joanmurdock3197 Definitely gerbils. "herd of turtles" hits the ear and tongue both MUCH differently.
      I mean, unless you pronounce it like "hoid of toitles", but that's quite a ways off (both linguistically and geographically) from his accent. :P

    This has been one of my all-time favorite cars since I was in grade school in the 1960s!
    It was one of the cars I would be drawing in my notebook when I was supposed to be listening to the teacher. Love em stock/original, but if done with good style and taste, they can make incredibly cool street rods and customs. As with any of the old Fords I much prefer them with the fenders on and roof un-chopped and original.

    I just saw a short video on Tic Tok and its showed a brand new Ford Truck off the show room floor basically, and the back wheel was making a strange noise and the axle was moving in and out just a bit. So a mechanic looked at the rear brakes and the rotors looked kind of scored up, and the brake pad was worn right out. They were able to move the axle in and out just a bit. So they took a look at the rear differential and the clip was missing of the axle and a part of the axle had broken off but their were no parts torn up inside the rear end. I was shocked to see such a thing! I never seen this in my life the mechanic was shocked as well. I made a statement on the post and said, " I don't think I'll ever be buying a Ford again." The were lucky the truck had rear rotors, if they had just drum brakes the axle would've come clean off the truck.

    Well that was fun! When I was growing up in the 60's, we had a neighbor who had a collection of old cars. He and his wife had the costumes to go with them. When they were giving guests rides we could hear them coming down the street. We would run to the road and yell "Honk your horn" He always obliged. They had different sounds. Does the car have a horn? Please honk the horns. :)

    That was very cool to see, one time when I was like 19 or 20 about 45 years ago, I was working with a plumbing company, we went to a home to do some repairs and they had a 1915 touring roadster in their basement, it used to be a drive in garage, but they had parked the car and bricked up the wall, it was cool as hell, the car was all original and looked great. I wouldn't cut that one up, I would only change the running gear and put a V-8 flathead in it. 😂

    Like your old Ford, rough riding and noisy by today's standards, but fun to drive and experience.

    You were mentioning that the "Ford Diary" was for 100 years ago. That really hit me when you passed a recent Ford pickup. 100 years ago people bought Ford cars. Now, they tend to buy Ford trucks. That's probably the most surprising development automotively, in the last 100 years for me!
