Meat, with our current population, is unsustainable as it currently stands. However, extracting minerals can be sustainable if performed well. Remember that your comments hinge on the fact that you're using a device that uses minerals in a refined form. 😅
I think several issues this would become less prevalent if we increased human activity at sea (e.g. by farming or settling there) thus making the sea/ocean less of a deserted place and therefore unattractive for criminal activity. This would also force people to value our oceans/seas more and address pollution there more fervently since it'd be home.

Legal commercial fishing is also a huge problem . The reality is that we don't need to eat fish to survive , B12 and Omega-3 can both be synthesized from plants and algae . Aquaponics allows to raise fish and crops in a closed loop system on land and its energy costs are lower than that of fishing boats. If governments subsidies aquaponic farm in the same way that they do fishing then we can save the oceans.
Why do they say there's a sustainable method of fishing when we catch nearly 3 trillion wild fish a year and there are no protected zones safe from fishing and trolling?
Sustainable fishing can be accomplished through fish farming. In fact, there already are several thousands of ocean based fish farms. They are so commercially successful a model that fish farming has incorporated non fish species like oysters, clams, and mussles (bivalve farming).
@@MrBrelindm the problem with that unfortunately is that the feed used for fish farming uses processed fish and the yield of fish from the farms doesn't make up for it so it isnt sustainable itself

Great to be able to catch the illegal fishing boat but really quite insignificant.. We need to use such tracking and accountability systems to make sure that we fish in a way that doesn't deplete our oceans, to create areas in which our oceans are able to recuperate.
