I find the tint interesting. I suffer from Stargardt's Disease, a genetic form of f macular degeneration. I find that lenses tinted pink improve my perception of fine detail. I suspect the enhancement would be even more pronounced for someone with normal vision. There is a possibility that the tinting in this color is more than just a byproduct of the construction process of the lens system. It may be an attempt to improve the shooter's ability to perceive fine detail through the optic.
The pink hue to the class is common in trijicon rmr's with a green reticle. I believe it is done to filter out green light coming through the lense, to make the reticle more visible. Same thing with the blue tint in red dots.

Excellent review, outstanding red dot sight. This is one of the very few red dots the Russian military actually uses, the other one being the holo type Valday PK-120. All other "Russian" sights that are well known for westerners actually have seen very limited use or no use at all in the Russian Army.
Just personally a 50 yard zero seems to make more sense to me because it's really still aim and hit out to 300. Especially if you have a good reticle like the acss then shooting past that shouldn't be too difficult from the optic and. But if you have a 400 yard zero and your target is not giving you his whole vertical torso as a target, and you don't know his range precisely, you could be much farther off with your shot
Interesting review, thanks for your good work. The Russians penchant for chin welds probably comes from their penchant for equipment that works with their NBC suits.
The size and shape of it kind of reminds me of some of the neato old optics Ian's come across, like the one for the M1 Garand, the EM-2's integrated sight, and one of the early types designed for the FAL. Don't think they boasted *quite* as many features, though.
I was watching this while waiting for Tarkov to load up and I swear to god BSG sampled some of the AK readying sounds from the first 10s of this video.
7:29 in i'm a little confused of how to zero......what do you mean the bullet impact is opposite of perceived direction?......the only opposite i know of for the arrows is windage...to make the POA hit right you click left and to hit left you click right....but i thought the arrows for elevation were fine....so in other words the "B" arrow is pointing down so you click it in that directions, and with "H" the arrow point up meaning your POA will go up....am i right about this or am i totally off?? hahaha
The PK-1 ist not intended for use with face shield helmets. That is what the NIT-A is used for (its basically the predecessor of the PK1 and almost identical from a technical point).
