Learned back in 1995 from a Discovery Channel documentary that Bobby Pickett is a classically trained opera bass-baritone.

I'm here from the Dallas Cowboys Hater Nation channel. Great post. Rap Music in the 60's? Interesting.

I got this 45 over the weekend, and my copy is not the original Garpax, it was a Parrot reissue.

To be honest, I can't recall was the Parrot issue not one of the original pressings? At any rate, the Parrot issue is a great pressing. :) You should make a video this October of it spinning on your turntable!

I thought parrot was the original?

@@halfabrick12 First, it was Garpax was the original, and then Parrot afterwards for a reissue.

The 45 I have has Boris in the left channel and the crypt kickers in the right…early 60’s “fake stereo?” George Martin did it for the Beatles a lot

I have no idea on that one friend. My wife and I just love this song! However it's mastered is beyond us.

The BBC actually banned this song.

The British ban a lot of things that they have no business banning, and have continually banned things on my channel. You ever hear of Web Sheriff? Yep, from the UK.

This was rereleased in 1973. This looks just like my 45 I bought back then!! Made the top 10. Garpax. I thought wow what a plain label. Great song though!!

@@cjsvinyl Yea I missed it in 62. I was 5 years old. But I didn't miss it in 73!! Funny when it was released again in 1973 on AT 40 Casey Kasem said Bobby Pickett was driving a taxi when he learned Master Mash was once again a Graveyard Smash and storming up Billboards Hot 100!!

I wanted to make sure I had the exact date. A simple google search along with the first 7 results from 7 different websites saying 1962 was enough for me.
