Ahhhh, yes. Using drills / impact drivers to install screws really speed things up and makes jobs much easier! But on the flip side they can strip a screw head in mere seconds, mangle threads, over-torque fasteners and generally don't give you any feedback before disaster. I would use them any day of the week for woodworking / furniture fitting but remember that they aren't a complete replacement for a manual screwdriver for those more delicate tasks! Great job on the van build so far guys!
Love seeing you both work away on the van 🥰🥰 feels like forever since I watched a van build series. Good to see your thinking now your are so experienced with builds.
Watched this few days ago forgot to leave me comment!!! Loved this video as always, I was getting stressed for you watching all the issues with fan 😡 Glad you got it sorted in end. Can't wait to see it finished maybe even rent her out 🤣 ❤️ Becky-Louise 🎀
Thank you so much 🤗. Mentally… I (Nic) still have ups and downs but managing it all much better and with the build, my mind has been kept busy 🥰. Thank you for checking in and I hope you are well too. Have a lovely weekend 🫶🏼
I did the same a few years back. It's hard when you love the build and the travel so much because both sadly don't go hand in hand. Now, I just seem to be doing a build every 2 years to fulfil both needs 😂
Also some tape on the roof where you don't want the silicone bead to go can help. I left mine tacky and it looks a bit of a mess, but the most important thing is that it's 100% waterproof! Nobody is ever going to see the silicone anyway!
Yesss I think next time, a handheld screwdriver or not so powerful tool 😅. Never have I ever worked with such a delicate fan. I heard leaving it tacky is best and you’re right, no one is going to see it so it really doesn’t matter 🤗
Nothing goes as easy as we first think. You have the patience to overcome many a set-back so all good. That lumpy roof makes sealing it in very challenging for sure. Good job you work well together. Good to see you wearing ppe. xx
Nothing never but the seems of it 😂 But with every challenge there is a learning curve and that's what we love about doing these builds. Thank you so much and have a lovely Sunday 🤟🏼
That CT1 stuff is sublime. Personally i prefer it to Sikaflex for sticking things to vans. (Comes in more colours too. I have a silver van so having then option to use a grey tube of CT1 was excellent)
Nice videos. Nice music, too, albeit a bit loud compared to the talking. I'm debating installing a Maxxair fan in my Transit Connect - an intimidating thought.
Thank you so much and for the feedback, I will keep an eye on it in future videos 🤗 Yesss very scary, cutting holes and the investment in that fan, they ain’t cheap but will be worth it😄
That is good to hear 🤗. I think we got a bad batch as I did ‘phone a friend’ to see their thoughts and ended up taking it back to Wickes and they agreed. So far everyone is saying how great it is so I will give another bottle a go 🤗
I felt so bad for you guys, how frustrating. Sam seems to have the patience of Job, that’s wonderful❤May God continue to bless y’all and keep you in His loving care 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
I did slightly cringe when you said "My Van" Sam is a dam grafter! and very skilled - what is the price on that... Must be love lol - What i am saying it just didn't need to be said - He is always bigging up the subs on the monetised channel - Give the man some credit.
I don’t think by saying the van is mine is discounting his skills or removing any credit he deserves. The fact is, it is my van and I paid for it, why should that be cringe to say? The van we live in is his van. We got together with our own vans and it’s just made sense to keep it that way 🙃. There was no insult intended by stating the truth and the last time I checked in with Sam, who reviews the videos and was right next to me when I said it, is still very happy with the fact it is mine 🤗
We did try burn it but the carpet turned solid and then was harder to sand off on the wood. Since this video we have used white spirit on the metal and that worked a treat 🤗
Personally if your together as a couple what ever is yours is his .... kind of cheeky for you to say you paid for the van and all the equipment you should have kept that to your selfs were here for content not who paying for what
That’s just how we like things to work when it comes to our finances, I’m sure everyone does things differently 🤗. And we were just sharing that it was mine as I felt like I was saying ‘I’ a lot so wanted to clear things up rather than sound selfish 😊 anyway, all innocently done, I didn’t think it would make me look cheeky or cause a problem

I love how Nic is always happy even when it goes wrong. Well done Poo-knee. That hole is perfection. And a big woof to the manager.
🥰🥰🥰😂
I'm glad you showed us that the turbo fan section was a darker colour as I was about to order but need it to be white
Hello Lord Onyx adorable as ever! Awesome progress y'all, every step forward is an inspiration for the next one🙃🙂💕
He's finally here! Sleeping on the job as always though 😄
@@nicroams ha ha he's doing his job then, giving loving inspiration & good vibes💕

Apprehensions is the word xx
Haha thank you! Words were not my friend that day 😂
So good to see you guys! How are you feeling recently mentally? You seem much happier❤️

Well done guys. We gave up our van conversion business to go travelling. Loving the progress on your van. Good luck and keep smiling 😎

I'd definitely do those screws by hand or maybe try using a Bosch IXO cordless screwdriver or similar, probably save you time in the long run

Such a lovely weekend for it!
Not the weekend for the fan installation 😄 but it has been this weekend, feels like summer is coming around again 😂
@@nicroams Yes I managed to get loads done about the house.

We’ve heard nothing but good stuff about it, I think we had a bad batch 🤷🏻♀️. Sam tried sticking his shoes back together and it did nothing 😅

It could be the quality has changed but it is best to use a screwdriver when it comes to plastic stuff

We find Renault master a nice reliable van so far so good 👍 👌
That’s great to hear 🤗 I’ve never had one before so not too knowledgable on them 🙃
@@nicroams it helps that they are galvanised so don't tend to rust as much and not to bad for getting parts 🙂

Hi Nic can i just ask does this vent hzve z blackout screen as if not i imaging the light would wake me up?
Hello 🤗 no it doesn’t, it does let light through but not as much as a window as there are multiple plastic layers, the fan and a insect mesh ok it 👍🏼
Would a hear gun not burn the carpet fluff off the boards

that van has got to be called dork
It absolutely is 😂
Bit confused if you two are all sorted now.. or is this old content ?
Hi David, we did an update video a couple months back explaining things. Best to watch that than me relive it writing it out but yes, all good 😊
