it still pains me that she doesn't get the respect and appreciation she deserves. she's just stunning in every way

Omg, I listened this now with earphones and I literally got goosebumps 🙈 I mean, I love Euphoria, but this one for me has even better composition and the whole performance just adds to the song. I still can't believe she was eliminated before the final... This would most likely be my winner of 2017, if she won Melfest 😍

She lost in the second chance round to a ripoff of Shawn Mendes' "Stitches" (Anton Hagman's "Kiss You Goodbye"). one of the most fatal Eurovision-related robberies ever.

I love "I can't go on" (especially the choreography), but this was my winner back then and it's my winner still. I don't remember all the details regarding the message, but she uses a lot of iconic imagery throughout the performance, like the Pietà and the photo of the Swedish lady who hit a nazi in the head with her handbag.

I can’t go on was very robotic, whereas this had soul and a meaning

I think this was too difficult and weird for the general audience in Sweden. You have to remember that Melfest is watched by basically everyone. From the smallest kids to the eldest grandparents. This was too much, too artsy for a lot of people. It was more of an art installation than a show. But it was good. I also think people had higher hopes now that Loreen was coming back to Melfest. People were expecting something more like Euphoria and this is something quite different.

I don't think I can ever forgive the people for not sending her that year, but at the same time I understand that Sweden't image in ESC isn't very political and the jurys were probably scared of the backlash it would've gotten as well. I adore this song though, it's so powerful and I Can't Go On doesn't hold a candle to it!

This is whats its all about: www.romea.cz/en/news/world/sweden-iconic-incident-of-woman-swatting-neo-nazi-with-her-purse-was-also-captured-on-film . Dont be cowards, stand for your opinion. That was maybe to much for a neutral country. I love this song! This is ART!

It was a truth that neither Sweden or rest of Europe could admit. the fact that we vote for Racism, Islamophobia and Nazi parties in whole of Europe and we do not see what we are doing. Beause lets face it, Eurovision lets a country like Israel be in it that clearly do ethnical clensing of Palestine every day!!!!! so why should europe be able to handle this statement. But eloge to Loreen to have the courage to do this performance anyways.

I have mad respect for Loreen, a true artist. This is art. But Eurovision is not about art, it’s about mindless pop - at best. And I’m quite sure she knew she wasn’t going to win, she just wanted to perform this song to the largest possible audience. Which she did. Mission accomplished.

Melodifestivalen launched an app a couple of years back, an app used for voting, and this resulted in a very "young" final for a couple of years, until they revised the system and started to count the votes based on the age of the voter, splitting it into seven different age-groups. With every vote counted, every age-group ultimately gives away the same amount of points, kind of like how the votes are given by the jury: "12 points go to Sweden!"
I don't know exactly how the system originally worked, but I assume it was just 1 vote = 1 point, making the results very biased towards younger artists, since mostly kids use the app.
This is most likely why the Loreen lost to Anton Hagman, since younger voters dominated the vote count.

Still my favourite Loreen song and Søta Bror should have sent this instead of that catchy men`s clothing store commerical of a song. I think they would have had better chances of winning if Loreen had gotten the chance to represent the country again. Everything about this entry is just amazing

Lmao! “Men’s clothing store commercial” 😂, I can literally picture the 2017 stage performance endings with a catchy store tag line.
