    Thank you! Great for us moving from Illustrator and InDesign to Affinity!

    I didn't know about changing the shape of the text box to a circle etc. Really good video, please keep them coming as so many of the teachers here have move to using Ai instead of using Affinity.

      Thanks for the comment, @elizabethrussell4858 ! I may also do some videos on AI in the future (especially MidJourney), but I'll try to keep making Affinity content, too :)

    Thanks for showing some nice features about the Frame text tool.

    Thank you, very useful features. I was hoping I could adjust the text frame margins in ADesginer but it doesn’t look like it’s available.

      Hi @kbruin79, do you mean the inner padding of the Text Frame? You can adjust that by opening the Window -> Text -> Paragraph and then adjusting the Spacing parameters. Hope this helps!

      @@TechnicallyTrent Thank you! Yes, the inner padding. I actually already tried that. Even with zero padding there is still a margin. Any other ideas?

    Thanks for this video. I'm having issues with tracking/kerning in my Affinity Suite. The letter spacing is non-consistent, with the more consistent spacing I find elsewhere. This is even though the tracking/kerning should be set to "default."

      Hi @andersbrathen,
      It's possible Affinity uses different algorithms for spacing out text than other programs. I'm not sure. Without seeing a side-by-side example it's hard for me to know exactly what could be going on. Does adjusting the kerning/tracking allow you to ultimately get a good result? Is it the default settings that don't look good? Is this happening with all fonts?

    Make a video on replacing missing font in Affinity Designer!

    • @TechnicallyTrent
      @TechnicallyTrent  6 месяцев назад

      Hi @vatsalmehta, thanks for the suggestion! Is the font on your computer? Typically if I am missing a font, it's because I created my Affinity document on a computer with the font, and then I opened the document on another computer that didn't have the font installed. Once I installed the font on the other computer, it worked in my Affinity document.

    • @vatsalmehta

      I used a variable font in my document but it doesn't work in Affinity Designer so now I want to replace it with another font and the situation you mentioned opening the document on another computer. @@TechnicallyTrent
      Also, a lot of people making a mistake using variable font since affinity didn't communicate this so if you make a video it will be really helpful.

    Hi, where can I color my text and my text frame separately? Is there also a space between text and textframe possible?

    • @TechnicallyTrent
      @TechnicallyTrent  16 дней назад

      Hi @websiteckron8591,
      For spacing within the text frame, you can bring up the panel Window -> Text -> Paragraph. That will give you options for spacing within the text frame.
      For color, do you mean if it is possible to put a border around the frame? I don't think that is supported. But you can just create another rectangle and put that behind the Text Frame to make it look like a border.
      Hope this helps!

    ok, so now I see... designer has no text wrap and flow.... I was crazy looking for them... but ok, I have publisher, but those tools should have been in designer and photo... sometimes we just need to do one page, like banners, so we just use designer or photo on the go.

      Hi Hugo, you mean flowing from one box to another? Yeah, it would be nice if it was in Designer too. As I say about several Affinity features, it is strange why some things are in 1 program and not the others.

      @@TechnicallyTrent looking forward to that. i like how you demonstrate techniques to get around limitations of affinity's somewhat lacking font handling, such as using strokes to simulate bold text. simple things like changing the type of font anti-aliasing are supported in gimp and photoshop but not affinity. i feel affinity should focus on improving this area of the apps.
