  • 6 minutes of waffle & me treating YT like a therapy session but the dreaded cold has made its appearance for 2024, hopefully it'll be gone in time for easter festivities!

In the 1980's I ran home every weekday for more than 5 years, first 3 miles in London and then 7 miles in Birmingham. It was my commute and I certainly did it at times when I was ill but there was no smart watch, no heart rate monitor and no Training Peaks. I just ran slowly. This is OK when you are using it as a way to commute but I agree that it is not wise to continue with a structured training programme if you are ill. Use the time to get even more sleep and give your body a chance to recover. I don't know if I have ever had nine and a half hours sleep in one go! You improved your half marathon PB by four minutes at Liverpool a week ago with a cold developing so I'm looking forward to seeing how fast you can really go later in the season - hope you find a suitable race to enter.

I’m not sure I’ll ever reach your level of running!!! I think I’d need 24 hours of sleep each night to get that fast 😂 maybe I need more Mars bars? the cold has finally gone though so we can get back to it 😌Also you robbed me of 4 minutes! It was an 8 minute PB 🤭
