When he went and assaulted her again, the Crown should have been charged as an accessory to violent assault.

Here in the USA, with CCTV of good quality like that, he could have been prosecuted whether or not she pressed charges. If there is DV, the LEOs must arrest the primary aggressor. It's obvious that the lack of support, or should I say total abandonment of the LEOs is so evident that it's palpable. IDK why anyone would want to work under those circumstances. SMH.

As far as I'm aware, the rules have now changed that CPS will charge even without a victims support because of a couple cases where they followed this stupid rule and the partner ended up killing the victim

Ahhh!! So ... if someone hasn't breached any laws within the past year, they could commit murder - or attempted murder as in the case of the man who punched and kicked his girlfriend - rape, etc. etc. without being prosecuted?? Horrendous!! Absolutely horrendous. Thank God you guys are still persevering in doing your duty, in spite of the lawyers and legal system who don't give a crap about human lives...

When I lived in north east England in the seventies, a guy beating on his woman like this wouldn't even make it to a police station.
The responding officers would do a little re-educating of their own with no witnesses.
Back then If a wife walked into a police station to report spousal violence they would simply send her straight back to him with no charges filed

It’s refreshing to see police acting to arrest unruly people instead of wasting time trying to be nice to them. I have watched American police and they don’t seem to be able to deal with things so quickly, they talk and talk and let the suspect scream and shout a swear on and on. I don’t support violence but firm decisive action is needed 💎
Then I just watched the end and the court system makes a mockery of all the hard and dangerous work the police do.
