So this video seems more controversial than I thought it would be. As a bit of a quick update, the goose is still living in the house. I could get her out, but because she has a good nest going right now, I don't want to break it up. Toby is content to sleep in the goose house. He seems to like it better. Believe me, if I thought Toby was not happy with the situation, I would chase the goose out, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
So it seems like a win-win to me and we'll hopefully get some goslings in about a month. I know that not everyone agrees with that approach. I also believe that everyone who watches our videos is entitled to an opinion. But that said, I always have to do what I think is best for the farm. Which is sometimes not the popular thing.

I mean, doesn't make too much sense to me because I thought the whole point was because Toby didn't have a place to sleep and you felt bad because he took shelter UNDER the goose house. I'm sure you have your reasons as you've explained, and although they don't make sense to me, it overall just seems a bit unfair to Toby again as the geese have taken priority again.

One channel ("Walter Santi") has 3 indoor cats and a pride of outdoor cats (adopted strays, in good health, all in Turkey). One of the indoor cats, Santi, is easily annoyed by the other 2, younger indoor cats. So human found a small room for Santi to use and put an electronic device on the door that recognizes the (in effect) pass key on Santi's collar. Cat learned to use it quickly because only he can enter and enjoy the room all his own. I bet something similar could be used for Toby's and Pablo's doors so that only they could enter once they learned that their doors responded to them and only them.

They are durable and while Toby may not need it, they also provide an extra measure of protection from wind and cold.

She'd always come running before we had a chance to get the key in the door. No other pet can return affection, as much as a dog does. And working dogs do just that and more: they look out for your best interests and are happy with whatever they get in return. Our beloved Flora got hit by a car. I wasn't even school age yet, but it was the first sense of grief and loss I experienced. We were so besides ourselves that we couldn't think of replacing Flora, so we didn't. I’m not a doctor, so this isn’t medical advice.
You might be interested looking up research on Frankincense (Boswellia Serrata) and various types of cancer. Some of them even mention doses. You can purchase it in bulk on Amazon for cheap cheap, or get capsules. It tastes like perfume and has to be mixed with oil if you buy the powder. I started getting the capsules because I dreaded taking the oil mixture and the flavor. It isn’t bad, but is like kissing someone on the cheek who just put on aftershave. A quick rinse of the mouth with water takes the taste away rapidly, but I decided to make my life easier.
I take it daily as an anti inflammatory instead of ibuprofen which causes heart damage. Research is showing it is likely good for many ailments, including arthritis, COPD, cancer of various types, and more...I discovered it because it is already being included in OTC joint pain treatment.
It was included in the oldest medicinal text known...3000 years old!
Some rare people get elevated heart rate, but I haven’t experienced that. Other rare people had a few days of diarrhea or flatulence, and it may have been from killing off some bad gut things...it is also useful for ulcers caused by bacterial infection in the gut.
Enjoy your days and don’t be scared. The other side of biological life is real and very very beautiful. ✨💖✨

If you've got unruly geese, a handy tip is to grab them just behind the head. Sure, it doesn't really prevent them from doing anything, but it does make it awkward for them to whack you or nip you, meaning you can have an easier time dragging them out of places they shouldn't be.

@@wendyweaver8749 you’ve copied and pasted this comment everywhere. Regardless of the breed and temperament, dogs like humans, have a sense of territory and ownership of what they call theirs. Some dogs are very vocal and violent about it, others like Toby are very chill and relaxed. However as a farm dog who’s job is to protect the geese and birds it’s vital that the geese know that Toby is as he should be, at the top of the pecking order and need to learn that Toby’s space is off limits. It’s an unhealthy relationship between the two if the creatures Toby protects do not respect him and his boundaries, especially if this behavior continues they will assume that Toby is below them and might start pecking at him randomly to show dominance and try to fight him, which would be bad. While you’re right that Toby does not use many of the shelters, it is clear in this video Toby is not too happy about the goose stealing his space. Morgan needs to build more nesting areas and remove the geese from the areas like Toby’s hut so they learn that they should use the nesting areas.

You take awesome care of your LDG! I was just talking to our livestock vet and she said the way some people treat their LGDs is just sad with their lack of care. They are a member of the team and family. Some people just forget they rather be outside with their flocks or herds than sleeping inside. We run poultry, mostly meat turkeys but still alot of ducks, chickens and guineas. I give you credit with all these geese, not sure i could do that haha. Damn even we are warmer here in MN right now then there!
