"Canadians are muscly". Good thing they haven't seen me.
I think I'd fall under the "sturdy" category.

I chuckled when she said that. They think we're all ultra-buff lumberjacks chopping trees with our bare hands hahahahaha
Only muscly Canadians are those who live in the territories or who lift on a daily basis

What do Japanese think about Canada? They don't
Surprised very little is known of Canada. I’m glad the director loved Toronto (my home city) it is truly amazing how many cultures there are here to experience.
i like how confidently the girl says Toronto is the capital of canada. Ha!! its not.

When you get outside of the big cities, there's huge expanses of forests and animals. Distance between towns can easily involve a drive that takes several hours. Japan (if you don't include the island of Okinawa) will just fit inside of the province of Ontario. It's not an unusual occurrence to see animals like bears, deer, moose, foxes, rabbits, coyotes, wolves, elk, grouse, crows, ravens, bison, and even cougars crossing the road in front of you. These places will usually have road signs to warn you of animals in these areas. There are also quite a large variety of trees across Canada, from the large Douglas firs, Western red cedars, and cypress of British Columbia to the maple, pine, balsam, spruce, birch, and poplar in northern Ontario, to the oak, willow (both regular and weeping varieties), beech, ash, and aspen trees in the southern parts where the weather is warmer.
Hokkaido has a similar environment to northern Ontario, just a lot less people and it gets quite a bit colder during the middle of the winter.
There's so much to tell but there isn't enough room to talk about it all. Come and visit.
(I'll be heading to Japan for the first time in my life to see the cherry blossoms this season and I look forward to learning all I can while I'm there).

I was a little surprised that one of them said the cold is nice. I don't know what time of year they went, but at the coldest part of the year here in Saskatchewan, it gets to be about -40°C. I also think it would be interesting to hear what Japanese people think of how far away all of the towns are spread here. I have to drive 2 hours to get to Saskatoon when I have to go to the optomitrist. Fun little facts: here in Saskatchewan, one of the slang terms for hoodie is bunnyhug. I personally don't hear that very often, and I think it's because we consume a lot of American media, and none of them call them bunnyhugs. In fact, Canadian's consume so much American media that they had to pass a law (or something like that) that made sure a certain percentage of the content on Canadian channels is actually Canadian, not American.
Im from Western Canada, I’m super flattered. Seriously this video makes me happy. We love you japan

From the Rocky Mountains in Alberta. Banff & Canmore have lots of Japanese residents students & tourists very popular for some Japanes. And yes they love maple anything & salmon 😃
In Saskatchewan, you can watch your dog run away for about a week before you lose sight of it.
Same here in Manitoba 😊
Driving from Medicine Hat, Alberta to Swift Current, Saskatchewan, is one of the longest drives you will ever take in your life. It's only a 2 hour and 10 minute drive, but there are not many turns or hills or valleys you go through. You are in the middle of the prairies and since you aren't turning much your eyes tend to get tired. It's dangerous, so I usually take a 4-pack of Red Bull with me that I pick up at the gas station next to McDonalds in Medicine Hat. You drink one when you start, and when you notice yourself start to get a little tired, you take the next one and repeat. Turn up those tunes and just go.
Last stop is a gas station and A&W when you reach Swift Current.
I've never been to Alberta, but the no turns, no hills, no valleys thing sounds like every drive to another city here in Saskatchewan. The city I live in is about 2 hours from Saskatoon, where we have to go a lot for various things, so I take a drive like the one you described fairly often. However, I've never really found it tiring. Tbh, I've been taking drives like that my whole life, so I guess that's always seemed like the standard of what a road trip is, and I actually kind of like just sitting there and watching the fields go by, especially at sunrise.

I'm from Edmonton! Did you go see West Edmonton Mall when you were here?
Want some facts about Canada? Okay!
Canada is divided into 10 provinces and 3 territories. The provinces are all in the south, and each has its own provincial government which only kinda-sorta answers to the federal government of the country. The territories are all in the north, sparsely populated, and the territorial governments are less powerful.
Ottawa is the capital city of Canada.
The 10 provinces (and their capital cities) are, from west to east:
British Columbia (Victoria), Alberta (Edmonton), Saskatchewan (Regina), Manitoba (Winnipeg), Ontario (Toronto), Quebec (Quebec City), New Brunswick (Fredericton), Prince Edward Island (Charlottetown), Nova Scotia (Halifax), and Newfoundland & Labrador (St. John's).
The first 4 provinces of Canada, at Confederation in 1867, were Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.
The 3 territories (and their capitals) are, also from west to east:
Yukon (Whitehorse), Northwest Territories (Yellowknife), and Nunavut (Iqaluit).
Nunavut is the newest subdivision of Canada, formally separated from the Northwest Territories on April 1, 1999 (not a joke), as a land-claim agreement with the indigenous Inuit peoples. Prior to Nunavut, the newest member of Canada was Newfoundland & Labrador, who joined in 1949.
Before we adopted the red and white maple leaf flag in 1965, we used the Union Flag that we had inherited from the United Kingdom.
Thus far, the USA has tried to invade Canada twice (1775 and 1812). Thus far, Canada has successfully defended itself twice.
Now obviously, the above is not Every Single Thing there is to know about Canada, but it is a start =)

What general Americans think about Alaska in the first place should be “ It's a cold place ”.
General Japanese think about Canada the same way. I'm from Japan.
By the way, Japanese Canadians are like 5% of all Asian immigrants, aren't they ?
@@morisoba2550 Japanese-Canadians make up less than 1% of all ethnicities across Canada (only 0.3% in 2016 - according to Wikipedia).
@@kennethaiori If Japanese-Canadians make up less than 1% of all ethnicities across Canada, It's kind of right that Japanese Canadians make up about 5% of all Asian ethnicities across Canada, because Asian ethnicities make up more than 20% of all ethnics across Canada. ( Asian ethnicities = North East Asians, South-East Asians and South Asians like Chinese, Vietnamese or Indians.)
@@morisoba2550 To be perfectly honest, it's something that I have not thought about - I am happy to be Canadian.
In Japan we hear about Canada that Asian migrants (mostly Chinese) dominate in Vancouver. That's why. If you are happy to be Canadian, Canada should be a good country. When I think of Canada, first thing is that Canada is multi-cultural and then great nature like Canadian Rockies.
That one woman's comment about going to Canada to fall in love is quite on-point: apparently, there's a legitimate phenomenom where female Japanese students come here, fall in love with a Canadian guy, and decide to stay permanently. Such woman are purportedly drawn here, in part, by a greater sense of personal and social freedom than they'd likely find if they were to stay in Japan. I used to work in a big hotel in Banff in the 80s, lots of japanese tourists back then. I remember being called to a guess room, 2 japanese women scared standing on their bed, screaming whatever in japanese while pointing to what turns out to be a fly in their room. So i spent the next 10 min trying to catch that fly and got 5$ tip and bunch of japanese thank you. Also for some reason, japanese think a toilet is a garbage disposal thing... maybe in Japan but certainly not here. So many flooded rooms and many unhappy guess that had to be moved.

it reminds me now of an obsessive and tyrannical canadian dude called Graham who harass everyone on japan videos he goes. he compare his pretty different experiences with ours and he make condescending remarks to annoy us. just because he's a teacher he thinks to be an encyclopedia and it's annoying. that is not because he lives in japan everyone should imitate him and the stupid things he do. because of him i only have a worse view on japanese ans he literally ask the people to go in a very expensive country with fake hypocrite people such as japan. also that's why i do not have a good opinion on canadians as very arrogant people who easily judge the others without thinking to the nuances.
in these videos there is a notorious stalker named graham
. he respects nothing, neither the opinions of others, nor their experiences, nor their tranquility! he imposes his experiences and he doesn't care what others think, he harasses everyone, he recounts his life which no one gives a damn about, he makes insulting remarks on those who have the right to leave negativity, especially after a bad exoerience in Japan. he is imbued with his person. he doesn't have to tell us that we should give up! it's not because he's a teacher that everyone should listen to him, that everyone should spend 50 years learning a language! he responds to comments when we speak to others and he repeats words like a parrot! he bullies everyone! and when he tells everyone to go to japan he speaks like a cult leader! it would be really nice if someone reports this man, because he is far from being a good person! he wastes his time and his energy telling stupid things to everyone. people say we shouldn't trust individual experiences but when it's a motherfucker who generalizes everything, it doesn't make you want to go to japan.

Thanks for giving Canada a nod. Canadians mind their own business, don't know what trouble is... but are busy looking for it. It was astounding that a country the size of Canada was unlocatable on a map for some considering you could fit Japan into Newfoundland. Still, Canada was unkind to its Japanese during the 2nd World War by transporting them away from the BC coast but finally made amends and reparations. I think Canada and Japan will always be naturally friendly: we can find find Japanese living all across Canada and intermarriage has been popular. ... Japanadians and Canadese... like my wife. I plan to cycle throughout Japan very soon.

There are millions of Japanese living in the USA, but I don't understand why there is not a million Japanese in Canada as well?
Canada is better then latin america I read a lot move there, but it's a shame they go there and not Canada, we need more Japanese in Canada, because I never had any Canadian nikkei or Japanese Canadian friends, latin america isn't a fitting place for them, just chinese or vietnamese or even koreans now a days!
Visited Toronto just before making to move to Japan. It was so much fun. :D
