Great to have you back Pete, and what a great video. You did right in taking a break. If the mind tells you, then there's usually a good reason for it. I quite often take breaks from social media, so as to reset and escape all the dramas it seems so good in supplying.

Great to see you again Pete, I had a MK1 sierra with a 1.3 pinto many moons ago, it was proper lethargic so we swapped it for a 1.6 out of a cortina but didn't swap the sump over, we had to lift engine out again to swap the sump as it was rumbling against the cross member, we first thought we fitted a duffer, good old days 😄

Glad your back getting back into the swing of things, Pete and great video. As regards your camshaft bearings, we never changed them unless they were showing signs of wear. I knew mine needed replacing by swinging on the shaft from side to side and I could feel a obvious movement there. I've never put head bolts back in the same holes either. Stretch bolts were introduced on later Pintos and I've avoided them.

Pete every couple of month I’ll have a Fray Bentos steak pie for my dinner, they come in a 7” metal oven dish which is dead handy afterwards for collecting various bolts and washers in when you are stripping down an engine or engine part. I use them for my lad’s motorbikes but it’s just a free tip for fellow CC subscribers. Blessings all round bro! 🖖

Tina G is my favourite of all your lovely Cortinas. They all bring back memories of my Evergreen with black vinyl roof GXL which I owned in 1982/83. Beautiful car, even had the optional black cloth trim.
I had a Fiesta sump pinhole and rot through, luckily new ones were only about £35 and easy to change.

Great video as usual Pete 👍
I was watching an old video of London from the 60's
Footage of all the old motors driving around .There were 2 ford Anglia vans in the footage that caught my eye and thought I'd love one of them .
My dad had an Anglia 105e from new in 1965 he kept it till it rotted out and took it up the scrappy I used it for a few years when I passed my driving test in 78 until I got my first car which was a MK1 Escort GT .. Happy days 😁

Pete it’s interesting that the front (x 4 pulleys) belt is only tensioned by the manual alternator bracket and not by a sprung loaded tensioner that could have (maybe) stop the mid-winter screeching when the belt needs tightening.

Good morning stranger, from a beautifully sunny North Riding coast.
That Pinto in Tina G looks in very good order internally. Must have been well rebuilt 60,000 miles or so ago. I wonder why it needed a rebuild at such a low mileage? Towing that caravan backwards and forwards to and from Devon, probably.
Good to see you back on my favourite telly channel, Pete. I'll be in touch.
    Andy.

Pete, I've never minced words in my comments on your videos on how highly I rate your skills in bringing these classics back to life.
But I've said a few times I'd love to see you do a car in the other direction, with mostly modern accoutrements.😊
So, with the utter disgrace that is the new "Capri" (which I'm sure will be a disaster of Edsel proportions!) how's about you show Ford how it's done?!😉👍🏻

Currently enjoying your video even though I've no ford cars, I'm into fiat's and am interested in how you do jobs on your cars. You are a mine of information and I like how you are thinking of others by selling mates rates parts that others may need. There's too many greedy feckers ripping people off. Isn't simone doing well with her car, no doubt you are keeping an eye on her channel. Greetings from Ireland 😁👍🇮🇪

I hate the bother of selling cars these days too , getting wasters coming round ya house
