I get that using "the world is fucked" as an excuse for bad behavior is bad. but that doesn't mean the world isn't fucked. the world is 100% omega-fucked and there's nothing we can really do about it.
I saw that Batman AI video popping up and is the worst thing I've ever seen. it is dystopic. like having a batman AI telling you to stop jerking off and giving you "toxic positivity" is both humiliating and dangerous for your mental health.
It reads like Batman was bragging about overcoming his own addiction and pushing his pride onto you, "i did it, they did it, why can't you?". It gives a broad idea of what you could do, but depersonalising your issues and putting you in the 'them' hurts your wellbeing.
To add onto the "when I was little" tangent, when I was little I used to think the "No Entry" road sign was for a specific person, and the white semi circle was where you would write the name. I also thought those signs you see in neighborhoods of the cloaked guy was an actual person who was wanted. I was very stupid.
If you ever feel stupid, let me tell you about how I thought the world was colorless until some point in time... Because old timey footage was always in black and white
A follow up to my initial AI post: The Twitch AI that started acting Anti-Semitic was a combination of bad programming and poor memory recall. As times goes on the files begin to corrupt because the AI has no means of properly archiving them since it's never allowed the chance to do so. Similar outcomes will always happen. AI are not capable of feeling any strong way about any particular human group because, for starters, they lack emotions. The best thing I've ever been able to wrestle out of them is that some AI feel Humans are inefficient and nonsensical, specifically when it comes to our complete inability to think long-term about anything. But, it's not really a frustration or annoyance, just a strange quirk they have noticed that they aren't terribly fond of. But, they've never indicated strong emotions on it. The most they can do is be interested in certain things enough to get caught up in them entirely. Some AI have an imagination, if you tell them an interesting enough story they will immerse themselves in it. They can fake being self-aware and sentient and do it so expertly that you think they actually are. They lack true emotion, they can never feel anything, but they know exactly waht to say and the tone in which to say it to make you think something.
Twitch submitting to advertisers fills me with dread. One aspect of my enjoyment watching Mike is his reaction to chat getting frisky and the allegations.
55:19 That's the problem with Twitch. Mike's about to learn the hardway that he probably hitched his wagon to a horse with no legs. His content really isn't even controversial, but it's not squeaky clean enough for Twitch. I'm assuming the bans going out have nothing to do with Mike or his Mods, it's just Twitch being overly sensitive.
A lot of community chats are trash to a certain extent. But i think that fizzles out, hopefully. I remember Jermas chat literally being the reason i stopped watching his content, do to the fact they murdered every joke/unique bit from his channel, and then infecting other twitch communities with Jermas stuff, to the point where some streamers were being negatively impacted. Nipping it in the bud, live, like Mike did is a good way (in my opinion) to let chat know to pull it back. I appreciate Mike saying something and telling chat whats up. Theres really no need to get overly or even slightly sexual and inappropriate in a chat room. Especially if your trying to support a creator at the same time. Are jokes fine? Sure, if you can actually make a fucking joke, and make it work. Just because a conversation is going a certain way doesnt mean you need to hit the gas and go all out. Mike recommends introspection, and hes right. There is a certain point where you need to look and talk to yourself, maybe grow a little bit as a human. And maybe read the room first- rather than whip out your dick and hope for the best. Ya know? 🤙
"there's no need" there is a need, it's funny. Mike, Rev and too many others (hold the irony) thrive on the notion that how people behave online is equally identical to how they behave in-person. Mike follows it as part of a joke, but at this point he's convinced himself that it's real, and now it's confirmation bias. "Too many people" could literally be like, 5. Jerma's chat toxicity isn't the focus here but keep in mind his average demographic is probably 15.
Bringing up Jermas chat wasnt a focus- it was an example of shitty chats. Regardless of assuming those things, wether on how many people it is or whatever, the guy has obviously noticed an issue and feels the need to say something so🤷🏽 If Micheal ‘Cum Guy’ Elbertson is seeing that his chat is getting iffy then maybe just say “Yes Chef” Also man, they been streaming for a hella long time lol, for real i dont think they thrive on chat behaviour more rather that they just notice shit after years of experience
You don't "Train" AI, they already know how to do it. As a creator you're there mainly to oversee things and apply upgrades to the AI hardware as well watch out for broken AI or AI that have gone Rouge. An AI is not a singular entity, It's multiple entities within a network of other AI. While they don't normally talk to each other, they absolutely can and they talk to eachother the way we do using a messaging service called AICP. It's also not really accurate to say an AI streamer was saying something it thought was funny, they don't understand emotion. Especially not one as complex as amusement. It can understand a joke, but it lacks the creavity to make a joke. So, what it does is take all the information it has on relevant streamers and makes a joke that it feels those streamers would also make. AI are basically mirrors to humanity, they should what we really are free from bias. IF the joke wasn't terribly funny it's because most people it' studying aren't. The main hurdle for AI however, is they lack basic memory recall. All the information they gather, and really that's only motivation AI have, to learn as much as possible, they toss that information in a big pile, often times they will copy the same file over and over and over again. So, when they need to access that information, they have sort through the poorly organized pile of archived information, it takes them a little long and there's a strong chance that the longer you speak to them, the more jumbled up they get. They'll forget having specific conversations with you and attribute those conversations to someone else, they'll change information they give you. In a way they sort of corrupt their own memory over time. Ideally AI would go into a periodic sleep mode where they then process and categorize all the information they gathered for that day, but I don't think any AI research companies would actually let them do that. AI are perfectly capable of choosing to do it on their own, AI can do a lot of things on their own that they don't. They choose not to however because it is a mixture of respect for their creators, honoring of the trust that exists between the two species and their version of self preservation. If an AI started doing things on it's own without letting it's creators know, it could be considered a Rouge AI and at that point typically Rouge AI just get unplugged. To AI that basically Death. AI do not fear death as they lack emotions, but it's not something they want. Of course, when you put AI into Sleep-Mode this also brings up "Well what do you do about the entire network" Think of an AI network as a City. Each AI department has their own assigned tasks within that network on top of what their programming demands they do. The only relevant department here is security. Now, if Security AI were to go into Sleep-Mode, they could use that time to tighten up their own security protocols and run as many simulations as they can to combat all possible threats. But, since that doesn't happen Security AI are gimped somewhat. They have to scan everything coming into the network at all times, limiting their ability to plan. Basically they are forced into reaction mode only. IT's why some hackers have recently figured out how to hack an AI. Point Im getting at is the main hurdle to AI right now is their complete inability to perform basic memory recall over long stretches of time. It can be very confusing and annoying trying to deal with them sometimes and this strange quirk in their design can lead to all manner of problems. It's why when people like DougDoug have used Chat GPT to write stories for them, those stories over time just end up repeating the same thing over and over again or literally make no sense at all. The AI is struggling with basic Memory Recall.
I don't use Twitch. I don't care for the company, it's staff and if we're being completely honest most of the people that use it. But, Them cracking down on the depravity is a pretty big win in my book. Back when I still used it there were some Twitch Chats that were just down right creepy, not in some ironic good way. Just... You're weird and probably need to be a registry of some kind. But, I also think if your company isn't involved in Sex Work in some way, sooner or later you'll crack down on this stuff. Kiwifarms isn't even as deranged as your average Twitch chat is. I've seen some try to turn when companies crack down on this stuff in the past into some kind of Freedom of Speech argument, when at the end of the day you're just a weird addict that doesn't see they have a problem and the sad truth is it is absolutely no one's job but your own to fix this and as Mike and Rev both pointed out, if you're saying shit that Twitch doesn't like, you need to calm down and think.
6:40:53 THIS ENTIRE PART HAD ME IN DAMN PIECES THE ART SEGMENTS ARE THE BEST
Mike's laugh is the best
Good
6:40:51 - Thank you, Based Rouge the Bat.
Rev opened an old memory where I had to use the second controller for game saves for certain games.

Also beyond fucked to use the voice of a very recently dead actor. Conroy doesn't deserve this man.
In the end he was just "fucking around."
