Please, please, please use the Neitiznot shield at trolls. Reduces the ranger trolls max hit to 2, allowing you to safely pray melee and take almost no damage. Combined with a bone crusher necklace, this will make it one of your favorites and most afk. Overall great guide though, especially with the chapter markers and suggestions of blocks/skips and demonstrations of the tasks.
In terms of magic staffs it is. Lol. Casual Group iron man here I unlocked 87 slayer and burned all of my slayer points to get a kraken task two weeks before warped Sceptre came out. So worth it.
The slayer requirement for the first proper magic weapon is kinda silly high for irons. Though really you'd want to get an occult with 93 slayer req before doing any major pvm👀 (...and ~99 magic... and toxic trident upgrade😅)
I use a way more obscure BiS for Woodcutting than you do Slayer, making me cooler. You will never have double seed nests from chopping trees outside the woodcutting guild, as I have no Slayer helm, but the superior option, the Strung Rabbit’s Foot. What a noob.
just got 99 slayer a couple weeks ago, i will say that this grind was very long but soo satisfying and account defining. any time you want to train combat do slayer and you will make so much money getting there
@@jake9107 hey! i still didn't understand how to make money training slayer. i'm a early to mid player, have 70 att/str, 50 ranged and 42 slayer (my overall is 1.239). i only did until now a few task (surelly less than 10). i always go do the task with food, potions and some tp, as well as the cannon in some situations. because of that, i rarely take the drops, since its almost always bones and some stuff that i have to get a lot and bank to really make some money (and i dont have the inventory space or the patience to take a few and bank). am i missing something? how people make money grinding slayer? noob question, i know haha
@@otaviosantos98 not a noob question at all brother, money making in slayer really takes off at around level 70 slayer when you unlock gargoyles. most low level slayer monsters wont make you gold unless you're being very frugal with your money. To save on food in the long run i would suggest obtaining the full Guthans set at 70 def. of you use the entire set you have a 25% chance to heal hp based off of the damage you deal.
1】If doing elves, definitely do Iorwerth Warriors in Iorwerth dungeon, everywhere else mentioned is a big hell nah. Enhanced crystal teleport seed is 2M+, a pretty juicy extra bonus. Very good and afk task if doing it in the dungeon. 2】For me, drake is one of the best tasks in the game. With a dragonfire shield, u don't even have to move, and extended antifire only 200+gp. With a fang/lance, dfs, cannon and a bonecrusher necklace, its so afk and 5~10k passive prayer per task... the only thing to complain is u need elite K&K diaries done to wear better boots. (exp wise ummm... 99 slayer so i honestly haven't cared about exp for a very long time =P) FYI if u have bigger & badder unlocked, and doing guardian drake, the most brain dead method for melee is hit, click 2 tiles away, repeat. Done. Awesome video tho! Keep Going!

I know it gets mentioned in some individual tasks, but it deserves a spot in the gear section as well. VBOW! It is absolutely best in slot for slayer, bar none. Cheap to use, gets tasks done fast, afk, and you get dummy amounts of range xp. Any monster that is a 2x2 size or smaller in multi combat, can be Vbow'ed. This includes: Abby demons, ankou, bloodveld, dagannoths, dust devils (way better than barraging these, you can alch while there!), fire giants (in catacombs), hellhounds (also catacombs), suqahs, and probably more. Also, get a fang if you can't swing getting the rapier; don't get both of them. Fang is just better to have all around, and the rapier is only marginally better for training. In most situations where the rapier would beat the fang in training, the Vbow will dust both of them anyway.

@@marcianomauritio9190 that's a terrible argument. fang is that cheap because of the frequency it drops, and because ToA is infinitely more accessible than ToB. most guides recommend rapier over fang for low defence monsters. most slayer monsters have low defence. that's why it's better. if you plug a rapier vs fang with the same gear into a dps calculator, it's a small increase in dps against low def monsters. somewhere in the ballpark of 3-15%, usually. 15% is a noticeable increase, but it is not worth the additional 30m, especially for accounts that are struggling to buy things like a fang. not many people in that stage of the game have an extra 50m. you could put that additional 30m from having a rapier into a bandos chest, or part of a virtus piece, or get all 3 zenyte jewelry pieces, or all 3 glove switches... all of which are bigger dps increases and more meaningful and lasting upgrades. its like the first guy said. rapier is marginally better than fang where that is the case, and when its not, fang blows it out of the water. its not even close.

With the combat rebalance, I'd reconsider the magic advice. It became AMAZING at certain slayer tasks. Fire giants - previously slow and tedious. Now, with water wave? You get 70K magic xp, good alchables that offset the bloods and you're done with them in a few minutes. Earth wave makes steels a laugh. Water wave is also great for afk training demons. Honestly, slayer became the way to train magic for me. it's way more engaging than telealching and cheaper than bursting off-task.
I'd been trainning slayer lately and feel that getting like a boss early feels like not worth it sometimes I just end up losing money lol. What I really recommend is literally rushing to bursting tasks, that's when slayer gets good and abuse extends with said tasks.
For blowpipe ammo amethyst is 60-70% more expensive than rune and only _sometimes_ gives a +1 max hit depending on your levels, buffs, and gear. IMO stick to rune most of the time.
I would do spiritual mage tasks at nexs spiritual mages. They drop the robe pieces on the collection log and it’s a very easy task. Once you finish those items I think it’s a skip

It's super slow, you don't really get to choose your tasks so to me it's like not a nice way to "break up" just grinding some high combat xp mobs. I'd rather sit at rock crabs or something for hours than to do 5 tasks in a row that are annoying to get to/require some weird gear setup/bad drops that I can't block because I have to save up slayer points for slayer helm etc.
idk why people hate minions of scarabas so much. they are easy and for low level irons are decent money. It's a minor pain getting there, but i just camp the ranger right under the bank. they drop plenty of food, die fast, and respawn fast. So you only need to have you're prayer on for like 3 seconds each kill. if it's late game and you have plenty of points sure. For most people probably watching this vid, especially ironman, just do them. It's not worth a skip or block points and you'll make some easy gp

even whip is better against regular slayer mobs due to 20% faster attack speed. dragons etc higher defense creatures make fang worth the dip in speed. It's still okay against whatever but whip is so cheap there's little reason to not use it at the right places, other than enjoying the fang aesthetics of course 😊

To elaborate a bit, a comparison using a basic setup (torso/fcape/ddefender/fury, 90 str/atk, super str pot) fighting a sand crab, whip is ~7.8dps and fang is ~7.3. The difference doesn't seem like a ton but is bigger the better gear you're wearing and 8-10% more dps adds up a lot over time, plus less time between targets due to the faster attack speed. A steel dragon on the other hand whip only does ~2.8 compared to fang's ~4.5. Fang is better on some mobs but it depends on a few factors and for the most part whip is fine
Scarabs are rly huge exp and money and ironman matts early on. around 1,5m/h with canon and good set up and knowledge. its hard to beat this at 75+ statts
So why do people hate on konar so much? Because you can't pick the spot? I honestly don't get it, been doing konar since like 65 slayer, made about 200m so far. 20 of that is just keys, like yeah konar is amazing.
Did 2 abby demon tasks before blocking. Teles are annoying and you can only stack 5. If you want to get back to a zuk task then definitely block these.

Well slayer is one of those things. If you are gonna train combat. Might as well go ahead and train slayer because that’s the only way to train it! Is through slayer. But it’s enjoyable at times.
I wouldn't get slayer helmet before blocks and points for skips. It only helps some on dust devil tasks, for aberrant spectres you have salve if you do them. Black mask (i) is all you need to start with. Good block list and calculating which tasks you can skip consistently on the other hand is the building block of good slayer. Superiors give extra xp too on many tasks and access to imbued heart table so those might even be the highest priority.
there are so many tasks where slayer helm is useful, many more than where salve is useful. i agree with your point that the imbue is the important part, but not being able to wear it for something like cave horrors, or any of the other numerous tasks where you have to wear one of the component pieces is a pretty big dps loss, which will make each task take way longer.

My main has nearly 99 slayer, now I’m re rolling my iron mostly. It’s terrible leveling slayer all over. Went from my favorite skill to one of my least. I suppose if I didn’t look like a walking turdpirate in a dragon skirt running around I may enjoy combat more.
Respectfully, I think a lot of your advice in this vid is problematic. Unlocking slayer helm first really only helps with spectures. Black mask can be imbued by itself. Most unlocks are not worth getting early besides superiors. Unlocking superiors is great bc they give a lot of exp, not for money. It's been said but slayer helm and salve don't stack. Guide seems to assume the player has a lot of gp as well, most people ik want to make money with slayer, not cannon every task. Also irons would never get a blade over BOFA.
If I were to redo this I probably would put slayer helm a bit later. Superiors are great, fight cave tasks are S tier and would be my personal first unlock. I provided the best possible way to do each task. If you want to do them a different way, that's completely fine.
F slayer.. maybe You lve it, yet in MY Opinion this skill is tidious, slow and anyoying... GP/HR is that low that it feels like it's only for broke players, if u want gp then do raids instead of collecting scraps. Yet nice video, Slayer will be the last skill for me to max, and I'll be starting it soon -.- F my life...
its the most braindead and boring skill up until around 70 when you realize you can just point boost and then really speed up your xp per hour setting up the right skips and setups then when you pass 100 combat it probably picks up even more before it feels like the most pointless slog where you're not even getting anything in return for all the endless effort
Slayer is a skill where you get between 15-40k exp per hour with constant breaks and a ton of up front cost to make it suck less. But it's supposedly ok because you are "training combat" even though literally all combat is better trained in nmz, even magic except with no input making it objectively fake. Altogether this means slayer is a sub agility skill in terms of EXP except you can die, it costs money, you constantly need to stop and star, respec, and teleport around. An until the absolute end the supposed gp per hour its bragging about is 1m/h or lower until literally only alchemical hydra at 95, period. It's a terrible uncomfortable, jank skill with the worst average rates in the game, and only theoretical, but objectively worthless upsides.

I love basilisk's. Decent xp, 20-25k/ph, same as any other melee task. And eventually you get the jaw, making them good money too.
I've had 3 basilisk task in last 2 days and got a jaw in each task and 1 head lmao.

yeh its a really good way for casual general slayer but once youre 99 you only want to boss. i got 99 range with vbow with slayer myself at catacombs

Uh so with the wiki calculator the fang is better than the rapier at almost every single slayer monster I plugged into it.
Great guide, just a note on the fossil island wyverns for some reason even with DFS i still get hit very high im not sure why.
Ancient wyvern shield is the best one as it also prevents from being frozen. The rest are just ok.

Burst/Barrage and cannon as much as possible.
Dags and kalphites with cannon are accessible at low levels and are like 70k+/hr

Did 2 abby demon tasks before blocking. Teles are annoying and you can only stack 5. If you want to get back to a zuk task then definitely block these.
Are most people's favorite skill really slayer? I thought it was universally just a hated thing that every account has to do because of how much content is locked behind it
Well slayer is one of those things. If you are gonna train combat. Might as well go ahead and train slayer because that’s the only way to train it! Is through slayer. But it’s enjoyable at times.
I wouldn't get slayer helmet before blocks and points for skips. It only helps some on dust devil tasks, for aberrant spectres you have salve if you do them. Black mask (i) is all you need to start with.
Good block list and calculating which tasks you can skip consistently on the other hand is the building block of good slayer. Superiors give extra xp too on many tasks and access to imbued heart table so those might even be the highest priority.
there are so many tasks where slayer helm is useful, many more than where salve is useful. i agree with your point that the imbue is the important part, but not being able to wear it for something like cave horrors, or any of the other numerous tasks where you have to wear one of the component pieces is a pretty big dps loss, which will make each task take way longer.

Duradel after unlocking Basilocked slayer reward. Vannaka has the highest weighing for Basilisks, but Duradel is overall just a better master.

My main has nearly 99 slayer, now I’m re rolling my iron mostly. It’s terrible leveling slayer all over. Went from my favorite skill to one of my least. I suppose if I didn’t look like a walking turdpirate in a dragon skirt running around I may enjoy combat more.

Respectfully, I think a lot of your advice in this vid is problematic. Unlocking slayer helm first really only helps with spectures. Black mask can be imbued by itself. Most unlocks are not worth getting early besides superiors. Unlocking superiors is great bc they give a lot of exp, not for money. It's been said but slayer helm and salve don't stack. Guide seems to assume the player has a lot of gp as well, most people ik want to make money with slayer, not cannon every task. Also irons would never get a blade over BOFA.
If I were to redo this I probably would put slayer helm a bit later. Superiors are great, fight cave tasks are S tier and would be my personal first unlock.
I provided the best possible way to do each task. If you want to do them a different way, that's completely fine.
F slayer.. maybe You lve it, yet in MY Opinion this skill is tidious, slow and anyoying... GP/HR is that low that it feels like it's only for broke players, if u want gp then do raids instead of collecting scraps. Yet nice video, Slayer will be the last skill for me to max, and I'll be starting it soon -.- F my life...

All these videos and literally no one shows how to start doing slayer after the first 9 levels of questing.
Go to the best slayer master your combat level allows, get a task and start blasting
its the most braindead and boring skill up until around 70 when you realize you can just point boost and then really speed up your xp per hour setting up the right skips and setups
then when you pass 100 combat it probably picks up even more
before it feels like the most pointless slog where you're not even getting anything in return for all the endless effort
Slayer is a skill where you get between 15-40k exp per hour with constant breaks and a ton of up front cost to make it suck less.
But it's supposedly ok because you are "training combat" even though literally all combat is better trained in nmz, even magic except with no input making it objectively fake.
Altogether this means slayer is a sub agility skill in terms of EXP except you can die, it costs money, you constantly need to stop and star, respec, and teleport around.
An until the absolute end the supposed gp per hour its bragging about is 1m/h or lower until literally only alchemical hydra at 95, period.
It's a terrible uncomfortable, jank skill with the worst average rates in the game, and only theoretical, but objectively worthless upsides.
