I started the evening primrose oil, 1000mg at 36 weeks. Once a day orally until 38 weeks, then 2/day. I never did it vaginally. Since I knew I would be induced at 39 weeks regardless, I started a week earlier (I think most start at 37 weeks?). I was 4cm dilated and 80% effaced when I went in for my induction. I will probably do the same this time, although I may try vaginally and/or try upping to 2/day a little earlier. Maybe if It works and you’re dilated, they can break your water to induce you? Or do a membrane sweep? I know you said they won’t let you take the induction meds, right? I’m crossing my fingers and hoping you can avoid the c-section!
Good to know! Thank you so much. Yes, my OB said if I'm dilated at all at the end, she can break my water and they can try a low dose of pitocin. But right, no cervix softening meds. So hopefully the evening primrose oil helps with that!!
