Hi Julian! Shopping at Thai supermarkets is like shopping at DOLLAR STORES here in the states. Most food items cost under $1 USD. I was surprised by how expensive some meats were such as chicken and pork. Here in California, I pay $1 per pound for chicken and $2 per pound for pork. Thanks for the cost of living update!

Prices of food are definitely getting expensive for Thai standards. Most of the food is the same here in the states.

The average Thai doesn't shop there. You can save lots by going to the local markets.

Aloha Julian! Very interesting so thanks for putting this together. I was especially tuned into the furniture since I might need to furnish my condo when I relocate there. Since I don't cook much, I'd tend to eat out or at least take out food. Bill

Hello Julian, I have appreciate this video. Very interesting to compare prices with ours in Europe. Could you please advise if in those big shops there are some vegetarian products (fake-meat shape)? Thank you in advance.

I haven't seen much fake meat in Thailand but I do know some stores did sell Beyond Meat for a few months, not sure if they still sell it these days

I was surprised that many items in Pattaya are more expensive than similar items in the US where I live (St. Louis, MO.) Nevertheless, I think it's still great to live in Pattaya. I already watched "10 Reasons I Moved to Pattaya Thailand (2022)" and "This Pattaya Hotel Is Worth The Price! (2022)". Thanks! ครับ 🙏

But you didn't give us your total, looks like you got a lot of stuff? It helps to save by knowing how to cook, with those sauces you can make a lot of meals, Ive tried to copy some dishes here in the US and they carry those in the international aisle including little jars of Thai curry paste. Of course you have to add more fish sauce! Have you done a vid about any employment opportunities for foreigners, including teaching English, if it is in demand currently?

The inflations crisis right now. I hope the poor Thai people's is beable to pay

If you eat Thai food should be okay. It also depends on how many meals you eat per day
