- In some cases getting bodywork done to fix rusty, dinged, damaged or cut sheet metal on your Chevrolet or GMC Pickup just doesn't make financial sense. That was the case with our '62 project, so we decided to install new bed sides and as always, Dave Welch provided the expertise during the installation.

Really liking the how-to series! Keep making the awesome informative videos!
Glad you like them!
loving the series! Prepping for my next C10 build (1965 this time)
Right on, thanks!
Great video
I'm restoring a 59 apache deluxe. I need the bed extensions.. that's hard to find. Thank for the video. You deserve only success. Great source of information
Thank you for watching! We have a lot of stuff for your 59 Apache on our website at www.brotherstrucks.com
It always amazes me that their are people that thumbs down these videos. Are these folks professional thumbs downers? Or are they just haters? Either way. Another great video. These videos are going to be benificial for generations to come. Thanks man.
Amen to that!
If I ever do snag me a 67 - 72 C10, David is the reason that I will shop Brother's first for parts!
Thanks for watching Vern!
Thanks David another great video . On hold with mine right now ( money ) but you'll be the first to know. Thanks again . Keep them coming
Thanks again for watching!
If you guys speak spanish, gracias por sus videos los veo desde Michoacán México, tengo una 66 y me ha servido mucho lo que hacen ustedes!
Estamos encantados de ayudarle. Buena suerte con tu proyecto en Michocan!
🤔 no savay
thanks for help us, very well explained
Thank you!
All these videos are saved. I have a crease dent on my front quarter panel and need to get the wheel well off to repair the dent from the backside, but don’t know how to remove the front quarter or the wheel well. Maybe this would be a good “how to”. Trying to preserve the patina
Hey Dave love your videos man !!
Thanks for watching man!
Great video, I was wondering if you rewelded the sill plate to the side? Thanks for making these videos.
We did not weld this set of panels. We've done this welded and non welded and it seems just about the same either way. Obviously welded would look more original.
Great video, Thanks David!
Glad you liked it!
I’ve had to weld the heads of bolts to keep them from spinning, then grind them off.
Yep, same over here.
I thought step two was “cussing and throwing stuff” lol
I wish someone would make a video of them assembling a 67-72 step side short bed.
Thanks for the suggestion, we'll look into it.
I wouldlove to see you do the rockers and door bottom on a C50 Chev 1969 type.To see what you would do around the A pillar.
We'll look into it.
Can you guys do some videos on a 68 factory shortbed step side c10
Anything specific you'd like to see? We've done a lot of videos on Tony's '68 C10 Stepside over the past year or so, including , c-notch, air ride, wiring, power windows, rust repair, shock relocators, bed conversion and more.
If you had a long bed C10 that you wanted to convert with your conversion kit - could you go with all new bed panels and have everything line up properly?
Yes, 100%. We've done it many times.
Would you be able to swap it out for a bedside with a step side or would I need to make sure I buy the truck that has the step side since manufactured?
You can swap for a stepside if you want. It will fit just right.
do these panels have to be welded in the back corners like the original or just bolt on would be ok? always good videos
Yea. Good point.
I would say yes. Make it pertty with some migging.
You can leave them bolted, or weld it back together. We've done both and it doesn't seem to make a difference either way. Obviously welded will look more original.
Hey - Mr.welch.....
Was waiting to see when you welded the points where the rear of the sides meet the ends of the bed/tail rail. You did weld it up didn't you ?
Yes, we did just a couple of tack welds like the factory did around the bottom of the stake pocket where it meets the bed floor/rear support.
Man !!!! I love this guy , I am rebuilding a 1985 GMC long wheelbase C 20 l would love to see you replace the sides , fleet side . It's hard to find good beds .do you guy's sell the complete sides for this truck, l need to get one of your parts catalog great video
Unfortunately Longbed Bedsides are not available. Here's a link to our catalog order page: www.brotherstrucks.com/catalog-request.asp
I have a 64 C10 stepside and was wondering if you can put a short bed fleetside on it?
Yes, no problem.
I would buy those old sides from you
Question: you didn’t have to weld anything ?because on the back part you had to grind the Back Welds - did you re-weld what you Grinded off ?
We didn't weld them back up. You could, but we didn't think it was 100% necessary.
Question what if don't have a second set of extra hands would a body dolly roller do job better .
You know, there's probably a dozen ways to get the job done, you've just got to work with what you have available and be creative.
My panels from you guys fit terrible on my square body. Not even close.
Just curious what company you got the bed sides from ?
The back window of that truck is it in rubber,if so did you ever make a one person install vid
Yes it's in a rubber seal. We've never done a rear window install video, but we'll get that one on the list! Thank you for the suggestion!
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV I second this! Would really like to see a glass removal/install video.
@@HouseofChop on the list as of today, probably going to happen sooner than later. Thanks!
i just spot weld the bolts to the tub and grind the weld after i get the nuts off
Definitely reduces the need to have a buddy around to hold the bolts down!
Can you do a few video on square body?
We have a lot of Squarebody content. What are you specifically looking for?
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV rocker panel, wheel arch, floor pan, bed panels and roof replacement etc. Sagging door inches, everything square body.
Wow, thats a ton! We'll keep working on it.
