Highlighters is what I do
Paints like gouache, acrylic, anything opaque. Opaque color pencils. HEAVILY plan out lights and darks so you can save the eye burning colors for last with the white of the paper. But card stock and cut out pieces of paper to glue on top! Also neon washi tape too!
Some ways I’ve done it! Mostly to cover up mistakes

I do like making colorful artwork, never tried this style before, I guess this is a sign for me to try it out. Funniest tutorials I've seen, loved it, chaotic and informational. Quoting Bill Cypher at the end never made more sense lol

After watching your first video, I've been experimenting with this style for weeks. As someone who's more used to soft/smooth shading, I'm still pretty bad at it and struggling a lot, especially with contrast but hopefully I can get better at it..!

Thank you for sharing your knowledge!! To add further (to either you or other viewers), theres a video called "why your colors suck (and its not your fault)" which explains in detail how the consumer hardware for monitors and production is heavily limited which affects artists and consumers alike, and how you can avoid it! They mention different types of color pickers like OKLAB which helps with color palettes. Also, its only like 30 minutes so you dont have to spend hours upon hours to learn color theory from scratch, I mean it definitely helps but its good for an introduction/casual way to learn it. I really love your humor in editing btw you made it enjoyable to listen through a tutorial haha
