This is the difference between US and overseas customer service. In the US, it's you come to us or we're going to charge you for every inch we travel and we probably will tell you it has to come back to our factory. Overseas, it's all about getting it done no matter what and they don't piss and moan over costs. And I am sure it's exponentially cheaper over there for the tech to come to the grid that to get a tow truck and move it to the factory/shop.

They should've hired a few techs to run basic checks on all the cars a week before the drivers got there. Some of those cars were sitting a long time in that Warehouse without being started or a trickle charger hooked up.

@@Sn0_wing I think it’s just tuned to dump more fuel, which allows it to shoot flames. I’m pretty sure regular pump gas runs fine.
@@Sn0_wing they should be able to take 91 octane, which is RON 95 in our country. They only have an aftermarket exhaust, that's all. And since their car is from Canada, the minimum octane they can run is 87, which is actually lower than our lowest fuel available, which is RON 93. Which I presume is 89 or 90 octane.

This is why Rally teams have spare parts for everything in a support vehicle. Be careful when you're in the countryside as there is very little support and sometimes you have to buy fuel out of glass bottles using cash (yes, I've filled cars and motorcycles in SE Asia out of bottles).

I saw a video of a guy who was riding a rental scooter thru Vietnam, and they sold him gas out of plastic bottles that blew my mind.

@@denniskusuran6186that's not the level of service dealers give most other places. So definitely props to the dealers in Vietnam, hopefully their techs are as good as their customer service. Unless you're a well respected customer of a dealer in the US I'd be impressed if you got more of a response than "get it towed over and we'll look at it in 1-2 weeks"
Really though, the cars by now shouldn't have as many issues as thry do. Expensive just means more problems.

3 things I never go on a road trip without. Multi meter. Mini tool kit, which has screwdrivers, small sockets, mini pliers. Good head torch. You can fix / diagnose a lot of problems with those 3 things, day or night, rain or shine. Parts you can buy, like fuses, relays etc. Any auto store.
Shocking that the Lambo tech turned up without basic diagnosis tools, did not inspire confidence at all.
Would add a 2 foot breaker bar to that list as well, never know when you need a bit more leverage.

They travel through a ton of countries so it should be the responsibility of the local importer to provide technical support seeing as most faults are fixed via diagnostics. Mercedes-Benz cars can be sorted with remote diagnostics I'm sure other manufacturers must be heading that way too.

Why didn't the Gumball organizers give each car a paperback info folder with need 2 know stuff such as how to fuel up, costs, laws, hospital locations, tow truck info, etc to make the rally guests time easier and less anxiety filled?
because Gumball is not only an event, its sort of a sport...maybe they want them to have to figure shit out? They are selling an experience, not a parade.
In yesterday’s video Damon showed that he was given a booklet of all documents pertaining to the event including their legal government documents for each country they are travelling through.
The drivers don’t need to know the information that the Gumball organisers and the local authorities (police and government officials) that are escorting them the whole time through each country already know. They are all (every car involved in the event) also insured with the same vehicle insurance company and one would hope that they are well covered for every aspect of a breakdowns or accidents. All participants are required to have and had to show that they have both personal injury and hospital insurance as a prerequisite of entering the event.
As Damon pointed out their fuel was already paid for so the only difficulty is knowing which fuel and how to fill their vehicles. If they don’t know this they shouldn’t be there. For reference it took me 3 seconds to Google what Xang 95RON is.
They have pointed out the road rules and laws for driving the event in previous videos and anything DDE didn’t cover JWW, Nico and all the other channels have covered this.
For each day of driving they are all organised in groups so that local authorities and Gumball officials know where every driver and passenger are at all times, they are not permitted to deviate from that group for each day of driving.
I think JWW pointed out that right hand drive vehicles are illegal in some of the countries they are travelling to and left hand drive vehicles are illegal in other countries. He also pointed out that this is why they are required to be escorted and have to stay in these groups and why the single insurance company is covering everyone’s cars.
That green ferrari was no match for the SVJ, lol. 😅😅

I know this may not be your case with the svj but my American car / camaro ss does the same thing. After a long / hard drive the starter becomes heat soaked, so it would need time to cool off before it can start right back up!! 20:36

Add another battery to the car. Caps make the charge go back down to 12.1v... like car audio caps. Best thing to do is add a secondary battery
Would have made sense to get there earlier and test the car and get any bugs worked out after the transport.... Would alleviate so much unnecessary stress.

i think its a good idea to make Alex go trough the whole car when you guys are back, or a Lambo dealership, just to makes sure that it doesnt have lingering underlying issues. and in that time make no plans with it, it really needs a good check. i feel like its kind of the same as with the 720 where stuff was obviously wrong and you guys still reved it which probally just made it to the point where it is now. i dont want to hate and blame but you guys really need to learn that if somethings wrong with a car you need to get it checked before you make it worse.
