Build a rolling pavilion. Lay down some railroad tracks and build the pavilion on wheels so you can move it forward and back. Would be the only one at a gun range for sure
Or just use big tire casters so you can pull it literally wherever dude wants
@@liljjbo17 too bumpy, too heavy and too tall.
As a railfan I would LOVE to see old rails repurposed for something like this. It'd be so unique and completely awesome.
@@JackReacheround You realize they make casters for rough terrain right? he's moving it a couple hundred feet
Not a bad idea. Especially if they find they can't auger down through the rock.
IDEA FOR ADA COMPLIANCE (Well more for people with wheelchair needs on your property): Talk to JerryRigEverything and get some 4WD wheelchairs for your property to rent out
That isn’t a terrible idea. They could get a few and rent them out. Maybe one or two for now then maybe 20 once the place is all up and running completely.
not only that but Jerry and his wife can be great advocates and consults for future builds for inclusion.
I was just thinking the same thing. Not A Wheelchair is the name of Zach's company.
YES
Almost 90% of americans are invalids, so buy 100 mobility scooters that they use in grocery stores
You could set up gravel pads for RVs and campervans to park up.
Possibly run electrics outlets to the pads for external plug ins.
Hey Matt, you need to insure piece by piece. There is special Gun Range insurance. So insure that separately. You might want to gate that area off for liability purposes. Then Insure the different areas and Facilities. Its a large property, you could insure it as a ranch, but will need to handle the Gun Range first. Also write out regulatory safety manual for the gun range. Have that ready to hand over when getting a quote. Indicate safety protocols both in a manual (for explosions and shooting). Get signage for river area. Just some tips for you. Yes I am an agent, but am in KC, MO
Just get licensed in Tx and expand you customer base.
Possible idea on the signage. Place the directional arrow on the side of the location's name that the arrow will be facing. Ex.: If the river is a left turn, place the arrow on the the left side of the word River.
Once you get placement and get them in the ground, use a small solar panel with LED lights to light them at night.
Just a couple thoughts that may help.
My wife bought an inflatable hot tub and she loves it. Only $500.
My first thought when I saw the first sign...
Those signs activated my OCD. LOL
My shit is packed. Sitting by the curb waiting on you, Matt!
Did u get you're shit packed in prison 😅😅😅 jk
Mind if I join you?
Regarding the issue on the range, make a long tent on wheels using welded steel tubing and some junk car wheels on the ends and in the middle. Move it forward and backward to increase of decrease the distance. Just make a frame with wheels and then put tent covers on when you need them (don't leave them out.. the sun will kill them).
Matt, your “boring” content shows that you are a real person. Bring on more videos. Time lapse video of extensive projects are always welcome as well!
Personally I could watch the digging of the culvert
Really doesn't matter WHAT he's doing - we all will watch. :) That plane teaser at the end, tho....
Being disabled, I have many ramps that I take places or just leave at friends houses go to a metal shop that has a press and bender and measure the width of the door jams and just have small sheets pressed so you don’t have to keep them permanent for the entry of the houses
Use trailers to make movable canopies, plus if you shoot from them, it will be at a downward angle.
That's kinda what I was thinking. Could even load ADA on a trailer to bring out there.
Matt, Get WiFi thermostats for your houses and you can adjust and monitor the temperature from anywhere. Honeywell makes them.
That merch pack for the kid is going to make his day. So cool of you guys.
Matt's building action park 2.0 😂. Bring on the death slides.
Awesome 👏 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 you the man Matt. And David and those that went the extra mile to make your guests feel welcome.
Matt, you should work out a deal with Jerry Rig Everything to place several of their "Its Not a Wheelchair" electric mobility devices on the resort for access to those in wheelchairs and may need some other means of getting around the property.
I just came here to say this.
I like the idea for shade on the range, but I think you should get a few of those big solar panels that they use to cover parking lots to use as shade panels. Then you could use the solar energy to power auxiliary lights, or even to power one of the airbnb houses. Something to think about.
As a Gigi with an Autistic grandchild, thank you for goung above to brighten their sons experience. It will touch this family and mean so much!
I can help make you ADA. I work for a company in New Braunfels and can get you ramps for the doors and showers. We can also install grab bars in the bathrooms
Or those who might need a ramp can bring their own. They are quite inexpensive.
@@brians48now not the threshold ramps. The ramps that are expensive are the large ramps. Also, I would discount it some to help Matt out.
@@c0rm3l75who cares
A good thing to do Is get bars installed next to the toilet in the bathroom it's super helpful to people who are wheel chair bound but have arm strength tons of people in my retirement and rehabilitation place of work use it to help get on the toilet I can't tell you how many people can get around on there own in a wheelchair but just need a tiny bit more help with basic things
consider swapping a lever style door handle for accessibility. =)
That's easier to open for some folks! Love that Matt is trying to make it more ADA compliant! So many things to think about that those without disabilities wouldn't even consider! This family will be a good test for improvements❤😊
With no lock mechanism
When the river is down low dig a couple swimming holes for when the water is low
Also haul some top soil in for the tiny house back yard so you can have some grass in Texas
Why don’t you do some camping spots you can do it all automated all you have to do it have the camp spots up kept would be a good cash flow
Leg 1 was SAT to Seattle, leg 2 was definitely to Alaska given the sun was off the left side of the aircraft, you were flying North. This could be a fun video coming up! Edit: BFGoodrich KO3 Alaska Driving Experience in Talkeetna, AK.
Is he going to visit the Bronco?!?!?
@@kdbl007 That would be cool, but he is at BFGoodrich KO3 Alaska Driving Experience in Talkeetna, AK.
Omg how the hellllll did you do that
@@OffTheRanch Well you told us about Alaska a few weeks ago... With his handle, I would guess whe was/is a pilot
@@jastho Correct, but I missed the social info on Alaska, just figured it out from the flying.
I thoroughly enjoy watching you with your positive attitude, having fun and caring for others! I think it would be so fun to stay at your farmhouse! If I ever get a chance to travel (which is not often), your place would be a great place to stay! Keep doing what you are doing and being the person you are! God Bless!
Get a JerryRigEverything offroad wheelchair for your disabled guest or just for fun.
Why would he do that??🤔
Because being confined to a wheel is really great fun isn't it?
that's a great idea.
@@samuelgarrod8327it's not but complaining about it sure isn't fun but getting one of those to rent to disabled people would be fantastic and very fun ik my baby sis would have loved it (r.i.p) she loved being outside moving even though she couldn't talk or move due to her bio mother's alcohol addiction
Its called not a wheelchair..
0:57 You can tell Matt was a little upset they left the light on in the oven, and the tray inside was not on properly.
Things are looking great! Can’t wait to see it all done.
You should get a couple NotaWheelChair from Jerry rig everything. Perfect for a ranch scenario
If I ever get the chance to go to the USA I will definitely come visit the resort. And well done on going the extra mile for that kid. That is so awesome.
For the lips you can get mini screw down ramps that dont get in the way but will let a small wheel roll over it (we're talking as wide as the entryway but only an inch or two out), that might help improve access on spots you've got as the freedom house otherwise is pretty much chair friendly.
Build movable shelter. Put wheels on one side and tow hitch on other and use skid loader to pull it around.
What about making the shade area at the range movable? Put a bigger hole in the ground than the pipes you use for the structure. That way, you can just pull it out and move it. Also, you can stow it away during hurricane season if need be. That will also allow for you to not worry about the pipes getting shot.
New Off the Range video! Nice!
have fun in alaska man!!!
I knew that was Alaska. I was there in 2022. Beautiful State.
Aren't you going with him? He did say you can come
@@yous2244 he flew right over me on his way there.... plus im pretty sure im on several watch lists so likely not welcome on US soil right now XD
@@alanhinkel420 im 95% sure it was, been there a couple times but not since the early 2000s.. i miss working up there!!!
@@5t0n3d-G4m3r i remember him saying that he was going up there for something. Just can’t remember what it was.
Dude, you would have made that kids day. That is an accomplishment. Much love to you and your team
Tip from someone who spent some time in a wheelchair, some sort of traction aid on that ramp would be greatly appreciated in case of the ramp getting wet.🙂
Build a movable shade cover. We use one for training the firefighter with natural gas in Arizona. It's super convenient. You would just need some rubber tires or lay a strip of concrete down for them to roll on
Put the canopy on wheels so you can move them.
Hey Matt a simple removable ramp for the front door of the freedom house would help for special needs guests.
I agree on NotAWeelChair idea, it quite suits the wibe of the ranch
I’ve often wondered about the insurance on the property, especially with the gun range. I’m wondering if it would be easier if you separated the gun range out as a “separate entity/business.” Just so happens to be right next door to the resort. The resort should be easier to insure at that point I would imagine.
I think @JerryRigEverything would disagree about the wheelchair accessibility XD His design would rock those roads with ease ;)
The arrow is on the “wrong” side of the “River”.
Looks like it is “right turn”.
Noone is looking at the arrow itself, only the side it is on.
8:37 Now it's just an idea. you couldn't build something that ran on railway tracks. Then you could move it further away and closer 🤔
Matt! You really outperformed this time!!!!! The ending to this video was OUT OF SITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(Pun intended).🤣
The resort is definitely coming together. Looks great.
"Pack your sh*t"😂😂 Matt being more and more open with his language lol
Those places are beautiful!!
Love the ending to this video it gave me a chuckle
build the range shelters on skids so you can drag them around the range with a truck
"Pack your shit!" And THAT is why we love you Matt! LMAO
Everything is coming on great, well done. As for the door lips, there are cheap strip's you can buy to put there and make them compliant. I've done it for my aunts house.
Thank you for that at the end. I was having a very boring day at work and you made me laugh. Thank you.
Matt, suggestion for a canopy on the range. Put a 2-7/8 pipe in the ground as a sleeve. Then use 2-3/8 pipe as your canopy supports. If the canopy needs to be moved simply take down the canopy and then pull the 2-3/8 out of the 2-7/8 sleeves. You can also use a 2-3/8 and 1-7/8 combination depending on the weight of the canopy and support frame.
Matt, a towable trailer pavilion on wheels could be a possibility. That way, you could equip the pavilion with ceiling fans . Alternatively, place a school bus on a rail system . Then you could use it as a cooling shelter/ aid station on igger shooting events. Or go really fancy and convert an old school bus into a towable portable shoot shelter with air conditioning and fume extraction.
On the rocks towards the river you should put some reflectors on the rocks just in case for those Stormy nights
These walk and talk videos are nice too
Does the house with the wheelchair ramp have a portable shower chair? It would be a great extra, not only for handicapped but for really tired folks.😊
I'm not sure what you're gonna be doing in Alaska but i sure hope there's content about it!
The trip segment made me lol. Have a good trip. I hope it's for fun/vacation, and not for business, but even if it is, I hope you have a good time and can enjoy it. You all do so much.
Your cleaning crew rocks, Give them a shout out.
You should get in touch with Jerry Rig about his not a wheelchair. When you are more ADA compliant it would be awesome if you had some of those for rent as well.
unless you have other setup things to do everytime a guest is about to arrive, swap out the thermostats with ones you can touch remotely. Then you can raise and lower them when you need to.
As long as you have wifi, saves a big trip
Maybe a shower chair for the handicapable. Put it in a closet when not needed. Thanks for the video and sharing.
I love that you fly economy class. Very demure, very mindful, not very edgy.
You can get some really beat up trailers (or semi trailers). Then do something similar to your stage just permanent.
Also i recommend getting some smart thermostats. That way you can adjust the temp of each home from your phone.
Then you can move them about as needed with anything able to pick up one end. Kinda like the mobile mini offices of construction sights.
We need explanation on the end of the video there bucko😂😂😂
If you tell me not to cry, I'm going to cry Matt. What the heck. T-T have fun in the snow!
Matt make your shade for the gun range movable like a trailer very low to the ground so whatever type shooting you're doing you can move the shade to that area and large old TV satellite dishes are perfect to repurpose for shade
Welcome to Anchorage!
Your in Alaska! Welcome!!!
That is cool that some houses are sirt of handicap accessible. I am legally blind so that makes me happy that you are working to have accessibility there.
Your waiver is going to look hilarious 😂😂
Could try using the trailer you set up for the band as a movable shooting pavilion. I don't think you'll want long range in the middle because that would shut down either side for closer shooting. Put it on one end so there would be a buffer between short and long if you want to run both at the same time.
As a cripple, I appreciate you kinda making it accessible. Lots of people don't even attempt to make things accessible. I greatly appreciate the effort!
great job on the signs, just keep in mind you need signs going back to the houses too, people will forget the trail after a few wobbly pops and afternoon of sun.
I love the ending. Had me rollin😂
Something you might look into, is separate insurance policies per building. And then have waivers signed for the more dangerous areas. This worked for a camping resort I helped in Northern Idaho. Took some doing though.
❤ Matt and his company
Have fun Matt can't wait until you get back.
youre kicking lifes ass.... great work!!! Matt install two ceiling fans on your on that porch.... helps stay cool and keep bugs off you when you are out there chilling......
Use tall telephone poles almost like the trees at the other range in certain line to the range that you can hook canopies to them in what ever way you would like they could be removed.
The range I use has the generic portable canopy tents and will let you place them at any distance you want. Provides a non-permanent solution that's also relatively cheap.
Love the outro😂😂
Really waiting for Ada compliant houses and activities 13:21
Thank you for the update señor!!!😊👍
OMG, the ending was so funny. Are we going to Alaska? It looked like Alaska, I hope I packed some warm clothes.
You could make that building more handicap enabled quite easily. Build a little ramp that people can put at the front door to help wheelchairs get over the lip.
In one of the bathrooms put in a hoist over a bath or preferably in the shower (reduced drowning risk). Shouldn't be overly expensive to either make or buy a small hoist and just fix it to the roof beams. Doesnt have to be ADA compliant just strong enough to hold a grown man with ease. It would make the house that much more accessible for those with disabilities for not a huge amount of cost.
Door Step ramp would probably cost 20-30 bucks using off cut wood and bathroom/shower hoist would probably be not more than a few hundred bucks using scrap metal from around site/from other projects you have going on like you did for the hole.
Instead of putting a doorknob with no lock on it, you might consider putting a knob with a key lock both inside and outside. That way, a guest cannot lock themselves out but, if you need to for whatever reason reason, you can secure the house.
Great welcome to the ranch package that you left for them awesome idea
With battery powered locks you better stash batteries outside. you could put small platforms with pop awings(cheap)and shooting rests built on small tire trailers that can be pulled around the range by golf carts?
Hope yalls trip to AK was epic!
There is a auger attachment to screw giant screws into rocks to bolt building frames too
Enjoy your stay in AK. Maybe we’ll bump into each other 👊🏻
matt prefab concrete piping would make great cover and you can place them in rows as well as stack them..isolate each shooter surround them in concrete ....win win unless the 6footers are crazy expensive
Build towable shade trailers that have fold out wings. You can move them as needed
Oh the end tho!😂
@12:42 Jerry Rig Everything NOT a Wheelchair company collaboration??
I was thinking the same thing
As always a great video Matt , God Bless 👍
Thank you for the info on wheelchair accessibility.
Just a suggestion Matt, might look into WiFi thermostats and have those on a schedule and or so you can set profiles. That and help off set costs with solar solutions. Can only imagine the electric bills.
