- On September 19, 2023, Canada expelled a senior Indian diplomat over allegations of the Indian government's involvement in killing a known Khalistan in Canada. The Indian government in return has denied the allegations and has retaliated by expelling a Canadian diplomat.

I don't think Canada-India relations will ever improve. Their ill-motives have already taken deep roots in their vote bank politics. The liberal parties in Canada will always appease these terrorists for votes and even the conservatives might do the same in future if Canada STILL doesn't do anything about it. After 40 years of India requesting them to do something about.
It's not just India btw. Canada has given refuge to international criminals and terrorists of many other countries like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh too. Soon it won't just be the few separatists sikhs in Canada asking for a separate state. The Chinese Canadians and Quebec Canadians will also have to clash with any ethnic grp in Canada demanding a separate state, including the separatist Sikhs. Future of Canada is frankly very grim, there's no ray of hope even economically.
The same appeasement politics is also happening with Muslims with Prayers on loud-speakers etc..
India will likely not miss a chance to punch down a developed country and make a mockery of it on the world stage. It will work wonders to boost the global image of India. I think 5 eyes agency is deliberately raising this issue and checking this to gauge India's response in similar situations or to check what can hurt india, they're checking what can effectively be leveraged against india negatively if they need to, and how much, they're using canada as a medium, i think they're very ambitious and smart.
