This is why I don’t attend car meets at night anymore. You never know if a flash takeover happens right there and then. Cars and coffee are for the more civilized, real car enthusiasts, and mature audiences. I’ll keep attending those for that reason and because I’m more of a morning person lol.

Yeah bro i feel this. Back in July i was pulled over while coming out the la jolla mall. The cop told me his reason for pulling me over is because i drive a “Mustang GT”. He said Mustangs have been in a lot of street racing in san diego. The cop gave me an exhaust ticket, had me pop the hood and gave me a lecture about street racing while my little sister was in the car.
I've never seen anything that intense before. I'm glad I don't use these other social medias unless it's just following people like you. There's some utter garbage out there that I'm sure is 100% affecting us chill guys who just want to have a good time. I drive a modified Infiniti g37s and as you can tell with most of the takeover clips infiniti is one of the most common cars attending them and that’s one of the reasons what I hate about the car, people think I attend them and support that stuff, I despise street takeovers I really wish this kinda of stuff will stop

We used to meet up on streets away from traffic and line it up all night till like 4:30 in the morning.. (with very little to no incidents/accidents.) So thankful I got to experience those nights before everyone became a “car enthusiast”
I 1000% agree man, where I live I wouldn't say as bad for the size. it is still a problem though; nighttime meets aren't worth going too anymore unless its private. Which used to make up most of the meets I went too. now I just build my car and barely take it anywhere which honestly makes it hard to stay motivated building it. Only things left are car's and coffee's as some others in the comments have stated.

I stopped even going to cars and coffee in my area because the "takeover crews" would show up and be on good behavior while on site then completely change the second they were back on the road. Also the pd in the major Metropolitan area near me has the task force which is good they are catching people but also it frustrated me because I know there is a better way to spend my taxpayer money than to have to catch people street racing.

The cops targeted every modified car in the streets. As for the video. Both are in the wrong. Non-car people are not the brightest anyway, but both parties were wrong. I used to go to takeovers before they got really crazy years ago. My friend lost his life because of a non-car person. My reason for going was to get back at non-car people for tailgating us and breaking us up during cruises, knowing we were all together. And to get back at police who give us tickets knowing they do the same shit (speeding) in their personal vehicles but can get away with it because they are cops. Another issue I have is these big RUclipsrs (over 300K subs) who have a lot of subs and have the following to make a change. To get laws to change, but they just complain and don't do anything.

Find a state where it's not all played out and they actually let you tune your private automobile. At least in WA State we can do our thing within reason.

I saw this video the other day too , this is sad bro , I’ve come across a couple takeovers on my way home from work and just turned around and went another way , I would hate to have my car destroyed
I feel ya I’ve been looking at registering my car out of state because it’s so bad tbh. My car looks relatively stock on the outside but is very heavily modified under the hood. I’d love to do some more flashy exterior mods but I’m not trying to catch attention. It sucks tbh like I should be allowed to do what I want with my property it’s on e85 and has a gesi cat so it runs cleaner than stock ever could lol but alas California things.😢

No matter where you go street takeovers are a thing. They happen here in Atlanta a lot.
People get attacked here too for just wanting to avoid the madness. The police will ticket or tow you based on how your car looks even if you were only caught in the traffic near a takeover.
I don't know what any of us can do outside of just staying away as best we can. I think this is just more groupthink trends that will have to play themselves out over time. Sorry about my rant. Take care.
